Satoshi slowly began to get a feeling of déjà vu. He probably should have trusted that feeling for suddenly and without warning Satoshi tripped and was once more flat on his face. Satoshi twitched a bit honestly in shock on how he could have fallen so easily. It was definitely a klutz thing to do and Satoshi was a bit surprised that such a thing would have happened with him. Without even a second of lying on the ground Satoshi was once more on his feet playing it as if he had never even fallen. He barely even shook the dust off his persons before he was once more running. He really hoped that no one had noticed his little fall back there. It wasn’t that he was necessarily embarrassed about tripping just more so that he could have done it so easily and without even trying to maintain his balance.

Satoshi wasn’t exactly how positive he was on how long it would take him to run the lap this time, but he was hoping that it wouldn’t take as long as the last one did. He understood that it was only wishful thinking on his part, but it could have been possible that it was only that initial bit of work that had been so hard. Now that he had gotten the idea of how difficult it would be to run in this terrain perhaps it would be a bit easier on him mentally. Satoshi gave a small nervous swallow wondering if that was exactly true. In the end Satoshi shook the thought from his mind deciding that no matter the case he would not think into it too much and that it wouldn’t matter. He would complete this training and become a shinobi for that was the way he was.

Satoshi was forced to stop for a moment his body unable to handle the pace any longer. Satoshi coughed up a bit not enjoying the pain very much. However, he was sure that this was only a temporary thing. There was that stupid saying that he used to hear from his instructors all the time, ‘no pain no gain.’ Unless he fought through this pain and continued to work with this exercise how was he ever going to get stronger? How was he supposed to become a genin, supposed to justify himself as even a shinobi in training. He would do this so that he could surpass all other shinobi, including Zephyr. He would prove himself as a shinobi and as a possible successor of the Senju clan. It was true that there weren’t many options, but Satoshi didn’t want to earn the title because as far as they knew he was the only other one left. Satoshi wanted to gain such a rite because he had proven himself of a person worthy of taking on such a mantle and with the strength to carry it.

Satoshi lifted himself up holding in a cough that his body had wanted to produce. He refused to be a slave to his own body and would fight through it. He would become stronger today and when he looked back on this day he would smile and think of how foolish he would have been had he given up. Satoshi smiled at that and continued his running determined to not just complete his lap, but all trainings after this. He would never stop; never allow his fatigue to hinder him. Satoshi was sure that if he kept up this sort of determination he would one day blossom into that of a powerful shinobi. Perhaps even one who could take on the position of the Hokage, if such a thing were possible.

Satoshi’s eyes were closed the second time he passed by Zephyr making it so that he hadn’t even realized that he had completed his second lap until he had opened them a few seconds later. Satoshi looked around a bit honestly surprised that he had completed his second lap so soon. He had half expected himself to collapse before he ever even made it one third the way to finishing his second lap. However, here he was running his third lap his body crying and begging for him to stop. Satoshi was completely overjoyed that he had finished yet another lap. At this point he was practically counting every footfall. The hope of finishing this training was the only thing keeping him going.

As he kept up the pace, his body now falling into an almost hypnotic pattern, he began to daydream a bit. His mind raced forward beyond this training and even beyond the academy. Inspiring images of a much older and powerful Satoshi filled his mind. One who filled his shinobi with hope and gave them the strength to become as powerful as he. That vision of a shinobi filled Satoshi with hope made him pick up pace without even realizing it. His subconscious was attempting to pick up the pace enjoying the vision and wanting to become that person.

Satoshi wasn’t positive how far he had ran so far, but the fact that he had not accomplished another lap yet had not affected him in the least. In fact he had become so absorbed within his own personal daydreams that he was barely noticing the fact that he was running at all. Satoshi probably had no idea that he was actually do that for if he did realize it chances were he would have snapped himself out of his daydreams by accident because of it. It was the type of mindset that a person fell into when they didn’t even realize. It usually occurred when someone was doing something of a monotonous nature where in repeatedly thinking about what you were doing would only make the hours seems longer. The simplest example would be someone working in a low paying job with many hours. If they didn’t like it then every hour seemed to drag on unless they attempted not to think about I then time moved by much quicker and with realization that you were really working at all.

Satoshi allowed the thoughts to fill his brain going from one daydream to the next. It was actually surprising that he could do such a thing while he was running, but as far as Satoshi knew he was safe from outside hostilities while Zephyr were nearby. Therefore, he didn’t really need to keep his wits about him and could allow his conscious to become lost within a see of dreams so to speak. With his eyes glazed over Satoshi continued his running not really concerning himself with how far he had to go or whether he would be completing his lap this go around.

Satoshi rubbed his eyes a bit slowly coming out of the comatose like state that he had been in earlier during the run. Satoshi let out a great smile as he realized that while he had been daydreaming he had completed yet another lap. He wasn’t sure how he could have possibly allowed himself to mentally dose of like that or even how he could have kept running when his mind was on other things, but he managed. Not only did he manage it, but he had gotten further in his training. Now he only needed to complete seven more laps to be done with this training. Satoshi couldn’t help, but slow down a bit so that he would have enough of a breath to let out a sigh of relief at the prospect of eventually finishing this quite difficult training exercise. It was only a joke in his mind, but he did chuckle at the thought of whether it was a good idea or not to ask Zephyr to be his sensei. Of course Satoshi knew it was a great idea and insanely beneficial to him that Zephyr had said yes. However, Satoshi did wonder if he would even survive to see his graduation at this rate.

Satoshi took around noticing the occasional piece of landscape that he had now passed by three times. Some of them were far off mountains and boulders other things were less natural and more human produced landmarks. By that he meant the charred battle remains of what had occurred here earlier. Satoshi still didn’t know what had demolished the area so, but it was definitely a fight. Whoever had fought here was insanely strong and had left a huge impression on the land. Satoshi was not daunted by the power, but in reality admired it. He could only hope to become strong enough to one day be able to do something like this if the need to protect others arose.

Satoshi breathed out deeply realizing that he had ran for too long and had exhausted himself. It was true that he had tired himself out before, but this was nothing like anything before. He could tell just by the way his body felt that if he didn’t rest now he would indeed pass out from exhaustion. He didn’t want that to happen. One thing about being a shinobi was knowing what your body could take and when you should stop. Sadly this was one of those times where Satoshi needed to stop and rest in order to recuperate. He didn’t like the idea, but Satoshi did slow down in order to rest up and regain some energy.

Satoshi realized that though the small bit of resting he had just done had brought him away from the brink of complete exhaustion he still wasn’t fit enough to run on for a long period of time. If he truly wanted to play it carefully and make sure that he could go for a bit longer just in case he tripped or anything to that extent he would need to at least take it easy during this period at least a little bit longer. After that perhaps he would be fit enough to continue, but the only way to see is if he followed through with this time and waited. With that in mind Satoshi continued walking not trying to put too much force on his legs and knowing full well that he wasn’t really going anywhere on the small area. Satoshi was fine with it though for he knew in the end he would be the one benefiting from it since he would be at least partially rested in order to continue with his training.

Satoshi let out a sigh as he started to slowly pick up the pace. He was still walking, but it was only a matter of time before his slow gait picked up to that of a steady jog. He did feel much better then he had previously and was secure in thinking that the small bit of time he had rested would indeed hold him off for a bit longer. He wasn’t exactly sure how much longer that would be, but something was better then nothing he figured. Satoshi allowed his legs to move about in a more relaxed manner in order to prepare them once again for a steady run. Though his rest helped him regain some of his energy it had cooled down his body a bit. If he just suddenly began to run there was a small chance that he might cramp up or that his body would be already unused to the amount of calories he was burning again and thus force him to use up more energy just to maintain the speed he wanted.

Satoshi didn’t want to have to rest so soon after doing it once already and thus took the time to make sure that his body was prepared for the training exercise once more. Luckily since he had just been walking it wasn’t too hard to prepare himself once more. It only took a few seconds and afterwards Satoshi felt much more secure with himself and the fact that he wasn’t going to pass out any time soon. He even smiled a bit as he began to jog once more. He would have liked to fallen back into his daydreams, but sadly he began to count his steps concentrating back on the exercise. He wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or bad, but he figured to go with it for now until he deemed otherwise.

Satoshi attempted to keep up his momentum trying to run strong so that he could make another lap without having to waste too much time. However, it was not up to him and eventually his pace began to slow down his energy already starting to dwindle. He did not like the fact that he had already exerted so much energy without even making another lap. However, not only were there just some things that were out of a person’s hands, but there were also some things that were inevitable. If a person did not tire during training or fail during an exercise then what would be the point of doing it? If they were so good at it then there would be no need to practice only do. It was moments like this that Satoshi was a bit glad that he had read a lot during his younger years. He felt that though he might not be wiser or much smarter then some kids he definitely had some redeeming qualities. One of those things were to be able to look at a situation and tell just why it was important for a person and necessary for them to grow stronger and succeed in life. When it came to his own personal trainings this was a big help when keeping him from getting down on himself and quitting.

Though Satoshi’s pace did slow he did not stop. Satoshi had enough energy that he didn’t have to rest just yet and thus he wanted to keep going. He was hoping that he might actually be able to finish this lap before having to rest again. He was sure that his sempai would get sick of him quickly if he kept having to rest. With that in mind Satoshi decided that the next time he was too tired to continue he would simple stop for that moment and allow his body to rest up and become rejuvenated completely. That way he could begin once more in the same shape that he had started this exercise in.

Satoshi stopped suddenly realizing that he hadn’t gotten much closer to his goal and that he was completely exhausted. Once more he was at the brink and yet again if he wanted to continue without passing out he would need to rest up. This time however, he would make sure to rest completely in order to continue with his training without having to worry about stopping to rest a million times in between. Satoshi couldn’t even walk at this point his legs felt as if they could collapse at any moment underneath him. Satoshi was forced to sit down on a nearby boulder, allowing his legs to rest up a bit. He was fairly certain that Zephyr would be displeased by the fact that he had sat down, but if he continued he was certain that would not be able to walk for the next three days. Satoshi let out a sigh to his predicament as he wondered just how long he would need to rest on this rock before he could continue.

Satoshi didn’t really have to think about it to know that his body could have begun to run again. However, Satoshi refrained from doing so. He had made a promise with himself that he would continue to rest until his body was once more in the shape it had been prior to starting this exercise. Satoshi was certain that at this rate it would take him several days before he was finished. However, even with that possible truth looming over his head he did not once think to quit. Nor did he think of going to sleep and simply trying the next day. Satoshi would train till he dropped then he would get back up and continue. Shinobi now a days always bragged about their nindo. Satoshi didn’t really have one, but if he did it would probably be about the fact that he would never give up, no matter what.

Satoshi looked around taking in all the landmarks and odd little animals that ran around right outside the area. They were smart creatures ruled by instinct. Though Zephyr wasn’t an evil person they knew he was strong a true predator if need be and thus it might be better to stay away. Though Satoshi liked the company of critters he had to admire such an aura that came off his sensei. Satoshi could only hope that one day he could strike fear in the heart of his enemies with just a single glance. He wanted to be able to end a fight before it even started simply because he had pronounced his own name and they had run off scared.

As Satoshi kept on taking in the surroundings a part of him wondered how Iwagakure had remained free when so many other villages had succumbed to the power of Masters. It wasn’t that Satoshi felt that the village was weak; certainly it held many powerful shinobi. However, so to did Konohagakure and it like a few others had been completely taken by the Masters. Satoshi could think of a few reasons how it had managed to hold onto to its freedom, but it still angered a bit. Satoshi hadn’t lived in Konohagakure vfor very long, but it was still his home. He hated the fact that an oppressive rule controlled it now preventing people from expressing their ideas and truly remaining free. He couldn’t wait for the day that it would be taken back by the refugees and rebels that had escaped like he had.

Now that Satoshi thought about it, the village wasn’t just safe due to its powerful residents. Even the location of the village made it a powerful force to be reckoned with. Konoha hid itself within the forests thus gaining its name, but even a maze like wood could be eventually navigated through. Iwagakure was nestled into an area protected by the earth itself. Not only that, but compared to Konoha it was a much more secretive village from what he had seen. He truly felt that invading such a village would be hard no matter who the enemy was, including the Masters. Such thoughts did fill him with a bit of hope because it allowed him the idea of becoming stronger in a set place instead of always having to be on the move like the short time before coming to Iwagakure.

Satoshi had become so enwrapped in his own personal thoughts that he had hardly remembered the reason why he had come. Now that Satoshi thought about why he was sitting down his body did feel a lot lighter. The rest had been doing wonders for him so far. Of course he still was certain that he wasn’t in tip top shape. However, he was coming closer with every second that he remained resting. He was certain that in a few more minutes he would be ready to begin his run once more. When that happened he would not stop running until those seven more laps would continue. Satoshi chuckled a bit as he wondered if his stubbornness would one day get himself killed. The idea brought a chill down his back, but it was a good one for he thought it was better to die a hero then to return home a failure and a chicken.
