The entitlement the man showed only irked Peers because of him throwing it in his face. Such behavior usually went ignored when it wasn’t aimed at him. Now he felt invested—only slightly—in his shitty behavior. “Since you can’t even do something so basic as order a drink I’d bet I’m better at a lot of things.” The retort was all he was really willing to say. He was grumpy and not in the mood for starting a fight. His coffee and muffin were handed to him so he turned on his heels and began to walk away.

That is, until the man uttered an insult about his mother. There was a flurry of emotions that overcame him at that moment. The man obviously didn’t know anything about her personally, it was a basic insult thrown around countless times. He knew that but the twist of guilt, despair, and anger churning his insides as her image was brought to mind couldn’t be told otherwise. It felt too personal. It hurt too much. Not wanting to face his feelings his anger easily won out as it snuffed out the pain. He slammed down his things on the nearest table before stomping back to the counter.

With a fire burning in his hazel eyes he subconsciously reached down, his fingers smoothing over an empty pocket. Reaching for… something. When there was nothing he didn’t hesitate a second before a hand flew out towards the man, though not for a punch. His fingers wrapped around an ankle and with ease he yanked the man entirely off the counter. He let go as his body crashed to the ground, shifting his weight so he could lean over the pastel p***k. “You wanna say it again to my face, fairy floss? Or you too pathetic you can’t even do that? Gotta fling your money around to feel superior but no money can save you from getting your a** kicked.

Not being particularly heavy and not expecting his well deserved retaliation Gage practically flew off the counter and smacked hard onto the ground. Luckily his back hit the ground first taking most of the impact knocking the wind out of him but the second to hit was the back of his head. It hit the ground with a loud thud making him wince in pain. He immediately went to grab the back of his head gritting his teeth. Gage blinked a few times trying to clear his vision and stop the ear ringing. This really freaked the cashier out who had just returned with the coffee order. They panicked rushing to the back room for assistance from their manager.

Tears started to well up in Gage's eyes. He had never tolerated pain very well to begin with but the cold hard floor certainly didn't help much. "What the serious ******** man..." Confused with a migraine setting in he narrowed his eyes "What even is fairy floss??" The cashier had explained to the manager in great detail what had happened between the two. As he irritated middle aged man walked out the door Gage grumbled "...just you wait till father hears about this...sue this place for all its got..."

The manager for obvious reasons was a bit confused. From what he had heard the pink haired kid was the aggressor but here he was the one on the ground. Money scattered about here and there. Without context it very much looked like a mugging than anything else. At the word sue the manager had decided that he didn't get paid enough for this s**t. "Hey you two! That's enough! You guys need to leave right now or i'm calling the cops!!" Authority voice booming across the store. "And don't come back! You both are BANNED!!" and with that he threw Gage's card back at him crossing his arms.

The cafe was bustling even when the two were bickering back and forth, but the moment the fairy fell hard on the floor, the entire cafe moved to stare all in unison. Some people couldn't stand to see anything else possibly happen, so while some quietly left the building, others seemed frozen in place. The intensity of the stares and the awkward silence was heavy, especially when the manager started yelling, but Dyl was one of the few people in there who was not too phased by the situation as he had been watching them the entire time. Perhaps it was time to stop watching as no intervention could turn messy.

"Excuse me~"

Dyl got up from his seat and quietly walked over to the other men and faced the manager. He contemplated using his abilities, but first, he'd try reasoning with the man first. From what Dyl had observed over the years, humans behind registers were just following orders and performing a service, so expecting full cooperation wasn't to be expected. But still, surely trying to diffusing the situation couldn't hurt.

"But that is not entirely necessary, is it?"
he asked sweetly, but with a soft lilt to his usual calming voice. "Surely, an explanation or an apology for disturbing your business would suffice. After all, they were paying customers and throwing their money and service out surely does not look on you, yes?" he asked, kind eyes and a smile all the while still on his face. But that kind appeal on his features diminished when he glanced over to the man with a tail. His smile was still there, but his eyes told a different story. "Don't you think? Apologizing to the workers and then being on our way, yes?" he strongly suggested.

Dyl then gave the same glance downward, but without the smile. It returned shortly after as Dyl knelt down to face the fairy man. "You can get up, yes?" he didn't so much ask, but urged. Dyl was being extra encouraging for the other to get up as he extended a hand down to him. Of course the other didn't have to take it, but if he'd try to slap his hand away, Dyl was expecting it.

" I know you have a taxing duty to oversee everything here, but perhaps let the boys off just a- um.. a warning? That way, you'll have less paperwork to fill out later..." If others in the store were watching, it would become painfully apparent that this was not the first time Dyl acted like a mediator. Of course there was no guarantee it work, but it wouldn't hurt to try. At the looks of it, it seemed like it was working...

It was more than a little pleasing to see how easily the guy got knocked down. He just laid on the floor nursing his injuries like the baby he was. The huldra was used to any of his rivals immediately jumping into a fight, no matter the first blow dealt. It was nice for a change, and he also had the sense not to kick him while he was down either. At least not yet. At the remark about not knowing what fairy floss was it was his turn to roll his eyes. “All that money and you’ve never traveled to Australia? You look like you rolled in the stuff.

Sometimes Peers forgot where he was—or wasn’t anymore. When the buzz surrounding them erupted into the manager having to kick them out and banned them it caught him by surprise a little. He had to remember that he couldn’t start s**t. He was in a new town that actually adhered to the laws. It only served to annoy him, but it was a good reminder that part of the reason he followed Lola was to get out of that old city of violence. Glaring down at the punk dazed on the ground, he could only think how he got just a taste of what he deserved. There was always some other time though...

Yeah, yeah—“ he started to say before some other guy interjected out of nowhere. He came up to the counter to… what, vouch for them? It confused him why the man was even trying to help the situation at all. He sure had a way with words, and it grated on his nerves. Even more so when he turned to him and said in that sickly sweet tone that he should apologize. The look he gave had his nostrils flaring in anger. Did he really expect him to take the blame for all that happened?

While the man turned to assist the snobby rich kid, Peers stomped over to where he set his things down. The idea of apologizing really sent him over the edge. He flipped them all off before scooping up his coffee and muffin. “I did you all a favor knocking him down. Have fun wiping his a** with his money since you guys seem to like that. I don’t need to come into this crummy cafe again.” He sent another glare towards the blond idiot first then to the rich snob. “Better not see you again,” he threatened before heading out the doors. He went straight to his car, but he took his sweet time getting in.

Damen had been up pretty early this day. He hadn't slept exceptionally well but once he had taken a shower and got ready for the day he was feeling a lot better. He was curious how Mark was doing but he felt like it was to early to start sending him messages already, afraid he might awaken his friend. Instead the demon had left his house, locked it and had gone for an earlier walk than usual. That walk had led him without thinking to his usual favorite places to go and he found himself passing by the Moonbucks Cafe along the way. Deciding it might be a good idea to relax a little and drink a coffee at the place he came to love, the man changed his direction and walked into the coffee shop and to the counter.

"One Cappuccino please." he spoke calmly when he was attended and smiled when he was given his order and walked to his usual table. It was to early to even consider Apple Pie, even for Damen. But he would definitely enjoy his drink. Once a while had passed, the demon took out his mobile and, while hoping he wouldn't wake the poor boy, sent a text to his friend Mark to see if they were alright and if they felt up to going somewhere together.

"Goodmorning my friend, I hope this message doesn't wake you up. How are you doing today? Do feel like spending some time today and hang out?"

Damen hoped that his friend was well, he had taken upon him to check regularly since he realized that Mark had some trouble going on that didn't necessarily all show on the outside. It worried the man and he wanted to be there for Mark whenever they needed him. But he also genuinely enjoyed the other's company. It was nice to have a friend you could almost always meet up with to do something.

When Aiyana entered the cafe, her gaze whipped around wildly as if looking for something. Her whole body was tense and her expression seemed even more stern than usual. A moment passed as her shoulders barely relaxed, whatever she was expecting to be there was not actually in the cafe. She proceeded to shake her umbrella some then close it up. She slinked her way to the counter to quickly get her order of tea in. Once she paid and got it she went to a less busy corner of the cafe. As soon as she was comfortable enough she pulled out a satchel of her cards and an array of gems. She sipped away at her hot tea as she rolled a few crystals between her fingers. It helped, but not much.

The coyote had been feeling so on edge ever since the previous day. She had no idea she was living so close to a wolf. What if meeting Ryan had been an omen and she completely dismissed it? She should’ve listened. Trying to leave her house was a mental struggle, but she also wanted to be as far away as she could. Instead of going her usual route to go downtown she ended up going down the opposite way and through a bunch of side streets that made the journey longer. Whatever it took to not have to pass by the wolf’s house.

Taking another drink of her tea, she let the warmth comfort her as it slid down her throat. Once it warmed even her belly she felt the tension creeping away. She just needed to do another reading…To see if she was potentially in danger sooner rather than later. She delicately spread the cards out and prepped the table. Except when it came to actually pulling out the cards she was feeling apprehensive for some reason and hesitated. Why?

"Dear god!" Rose groaned as she stepped through the front door to the cafe. The heat always was her worst enemy. While the cold usually caused her to get sick easily because of her weakened immune system, the heat exacerbated any pain she might have been in. Her joints would often ache and she would sweat profusely, even when wearing the minimal amount of clothing she could find. Right now, her house was set to a cool seventy-two degrees, often needing a light cardigan if it got to chilly. That was better for her than humid and hot weather! Despite all that, she felt like being cooped up in her house would drive her to near insanity. She had to get out of the house and it wasn't so horrible, thanks to the rain drizzling on and off. She didn't bother with an umbrella or even a hood, her denim jacket was enough for the twig like woman to cope, for now. If the temperature continued to climb, she may decide that the trek wasn't worth it and go back home.

Getting her coffee and bagel, something just to alleviate her hunger, Rose looked around the cafe with a neutral but contemplative gaze. She needed to find a place- Wait, wasn't that the chick on Charmblr who said she could read fortunes? She had attempted to go for a 'reading' the other day, but she had started to feel sick to the stomach and thus chose to just go back home. "Hm..." Rose hummed to herself as she made a beeline for a seat near the woman currently looking upset over something. As someone who preferred logic of everything else, this notion that the woman could read fortunes, or see into the future, was something she felt she had to debunk somehow. Dropping herself purse at her feet, not caring about the noise it may make in the relatively quiet cafe, Rose took her seat, set her bagel and coffee on the table and immediately turned to look at the woman. "So, you're the 'fortune teller' eh?" she asked without hesitation and a clear tone of disbelief.

The feeling persisted as she continued to stare at the cards. It wasn’t that she was afraid of them. They were just cards. It was that she was afraid of being shown something so unfavorable that she’d have to run. She was used to such scenarios, so why was she unwilling to face it now? Her mind was too focused on her dilemma that she never noticed she was being approached. The loud drop of the purse startled her from her thoughts, visibly making her jump and tense up. Her eyes darted to the culprit as she slid into a seat beside her. It took a few seconds for her to realize she had seen her before. It was the skeptic again. She wasn’t entirely in the mood to be pressed at the moment, but knowing it wasn’t the wolf eased her considerably.

Letting out a small sigh, she brushed back her black tresses over her shoulder so she could clearly look at the other woman. “Yes, the very same one as the last time we met.” Her response was uncharacteristically snippy which had her feeling slightly bad about it. Yet she still couldn’t help it with how her mood was. She really just wanted to be left alone. But… maybe it would help clear her mind if she focused on something else other than her predicament. “Are you interested in a fortune this time or is there something else you want from me?” Her tone wasn’t mean but became curious instead. “I won’t charge you for anything.” She was trying to come off lighthearted and make a joke of it but it fell flat when she was too tired to even offer a smile.

Rylee gave a long sigh as she held her coffee cup in front of her. It felt nice to warm up her hands on this mildly rainy day, but it didn't help her mood any. After handing over the divorce papers to her husband, Rylee had returned to the hotel room and cried until she was dry heaving. It was one of the most difficult things she's ever had to do in her life. She was just glad that she managed to hold in the tears while facing her husband. She didn't want him to see her crying like that. To have him try and comfort her... No. She still needed to keep her distance for now. Handing him those papers had been difficult enough, that's why she had tried to keep the conversation to a minimal and when she felt herself getting emotional, she made up the excuse of having to go to work before quickly removing herself from her former home. That was nearly 3 weeks ago now and she hadn't heard anything from her layers about Alex having signed and sent the papers to them. Rylee knew that there would probably be resistance from Alex's side, but she really didn't want to have to go to court about this. All she wanted was the divorce. She didn't even want the house! She was giving him a very easy way out of a marriage he told her he didn't want to be in! Why was this so hard! She didn't want the divorce either, but.. but they just weren't as good for each other as they wanted to be. Closing her eyes and sniffling a little, the tealette brought her cup to her lips and took a small sip.

Finn casually strolled through the cafe door, inhaling as he did so and smelling the strong scent of coffee beans roasting. To be expected from a coffee shop. Walking in further, he knew he only had a small window before having to go to work and he needed his coffee to get through the first few hours of his shift. Since taking over as manager for Neon Lights, his schedule has been flip-flopped. He slept all day, worked all night. He didn't really have any issues with the schedule, it kept him busy, it was just something he had to get used to having been doing the opposite for so many years. Making his way to the line, pulling out his phone in the process, Finn checked his calendar to make sure he didn't have any important business meetings tonight. Looking at what day it was, he realized it was Tyrese's birthday. His lips thinned a bit as he contemplated saying something to him. Yeah, why be petty about it? They were a thing and obviously being intimate with each other; he just had to get over it. He couldn't deny that it still left a bitter taste in his mouth every now and then, but only when he thought about it. Pulling up the wolf's number, he sent him a happy birthday text and put his phone away. The text was friendly, endearing and sounded like something from an old acquaintance, but that was about it.

After getting his seven pump mocha, he was making his way to the door when he noticed the slouched tealette sulking at a table. Golden eyes looked at her, looked away in contemplation before he shrugged his shoulders and looked back over at her. "Hey, Rylee!" he greeted over the cafe noise, giving her a small wave. Making his way over to her table, he took the seat opposite her and relaxed in the seat. Setting his cup on the table, he pulled his phone out of his back pocket and set it next to his cup. "What's got you upset today?" he asked. "More husband troubles?" They had briefly talked about her martial troubles, both having some common ground to bond over, but he didn't know the full extent. Given the look on her face, he surmised that it had something to do her mood.He had seen enough of Bree's many faces to know them all to well.

Rose hummed softly at the slight attitude she could hear from the crazy lady. Well, in her mind she was crazy. The strawberry blonde didn't believe in the art of mysticism, or the occult. Her beliefs were in cold, hard facts that could be quantified and explained. No one could explain the occult, other than it was a belief and nothing more. Something to have faith in, just like any other religion, which she also didn't believe in. Taking a sip from her macchiato, she continued to eye the coco skinned woman trying to figure her out. Something seemed a bit...Off. Letting her gaze rove over her, she could see faint scars on her neck in a shape that reminded her of dogs. Perhaps she was mauled at one point? She's thin, not as thin as herself, but clearly struggling with a sickness of some kind; if not just a weak immune system. The result of a family that doesn't vaccinate their kids. Setting her cup back down on the table, she rested her chin in her hand and continued to stare at this Native girl. Her clothes looked handmade, but she couldn't really judge as she didn't have nearly enough money to be buying brand new, expensive clothes.

A fortune, for free? She couldn't pass up a deal like that, or to try and figure out what these 'visions' were all about. With a shrug of her shoulders, Rose nodded her head in acceptance of having her fortune read. "So what needs to happen? Do you read my palm? Call upon the spirits long past?" she asked, clearly making fun of the idea of visions. It intrigued the logic centers of her brain and it made her a little more open to the very idea of the whole thing. If she wasn't curious about the practice and how it worked, she would have shot down such a ludicrous idea within seconds of hearing it. Also, considering she didn't get the reading she had tried for last time, she wanted to see what it would say. Would she die sooner than expected? Finally make the family she wanted? Biting her inner cheek, she was getting ahead of herself and had to pull herself back. Taking another sip of her coffee, Rose took out her phone and casually looked at the time before setting it down on the table and waiting for whatever needed to happen.

Rylee pouted softly as she sipped on her drink. It was still too hot for her liking, but that didn't make her put the cup down. Only when she heard her name did she open her eyes. "Oh, Finn! Hi." She greeted back, a soft smile appearing on her lips. Watching him sit down, she carefully set her cup down and sighed softly as he asked what was wrong. "Was it that obvious something was upsetting me?" She asked curiously. She'd been trying to appear like nothing was bothering her. Biting her bottom lip slightly when Finn asked if it was husband troubles, the tealette nodded her head. "Yeah.." She sighed softly before glancing up at Finn. "Though I'm sure you don't want to be bothered by my marital drama." She said with a soft chuckle. She didn't want to drag him down the winding road of her failing marriage, even though he was likely the one person that would sort of understand even if their situations weren't the exact same.

Aiyana stared right back at the woman while she was being looked over. Just the same as last time she could feel the energy surrounding her. It wasn’t anything malevolent, but it wasn’t good. That was what she cared more about than looks or trying to profile her. Discerning what the energy felt like usually helped her to understand just how helpful she was meant to be. Thankfully she never viewed anyone having negative energy as entirely bad as it was usually about average in her eyes. Everyone had baggage. Still, she always preferred minimal contact with negativity. While she sat quietly she tried to nonchalantly scoot her crystals to the side of the table closer to the woman. The crystals would help clear some of the energy, as well as a few of her other gems that were meant to ease the soul and mind, and to bring clarity.

It was probably more needed for her at the current moment though. The woman was all ready for her fortune to be told, and yet the coyote was very much confused about it. The way she spoke about getting her fortune had her feeling like she was missing entirely what she was actually after. “Yes, I can do a palm reading if you think it will help me better understand your fortune.” She shifted in her seat again, this time pulling her cards across the table for the woman to get a better glimpse. “However, my fortunes are usually done by these. There’s no calling upon spirits. The ones that guide the cards are always present and they will tell you whatever it is you wish to know. You don’t need to voice anything. Simply focus in your mind what troubles you.

The coyote would wait for a clear indication that the tarot card reading was in fact what she wanted before any attempt to start. While she waited she realized she never got the woman’s name. So far her mind referred to her only as the skeptic. “I’m sorry, I don’t think we introduced ourselves. My name is Aiyana, in case you missed it.” She figured she’d at least know it by now seeing that she found her shop, but maybe not. “And you are?” Did it actually matter to know it? No, not really, but it was more to be polite. It would keep the interaction amicable hopefully.

"No soy todo lo que ves, pero tampoco ves todo lo que soy."

Dragging her feet beneath her, the bell overhead rang violently for a moment as the door swung open and out came a brunette with a mildly unappeased look upon her face. The purple darkening under her eyes revealed quite the battle she had with her sleep, the obstinate paint stains on her hands might have even given away what kept her up all these days but it was much like she couldn't care less at this point. Dare anyone cross her paths today, she would be very unlikely to be her chatty, nicer self. One couldn't blame her after all the woman put herself through for one commission. The woman was promised a good sum of money if she did a custom piece for a wealthy someone outside the city and she went through quite some trouble to make ends meet for said person until they didn't seem to want to take her efforts home. Why did she even go through all that trouble?!

Puta madre, one little swear that stuck on to her from her endless ranting and rambling over the hassle she was put into for that one piece. Maybe a change of space would help? It wasn't likely, especially with all the potential inspiration that drew her back to her favorite hobby and now source of income. "One expresso with a slice of cheesecake please." the woman would order for herself once she reached the counter, brushing her fingers through her bangs so they were settled in place. Curious browns with their tinge of green trailed down to her reflection as her fingers smoothened the gentle creases on her carefree grey oversized tshirt before her attention shifted back to the waiter as he held out her tray.

Huddling over to a table, she pulled out her phone to avoid looking at the people around her. She didn't want to distract herself with colors, no character poses, no body studies, nothing art related! She would be back to her vice eventually, but with the recent event, maybe some time off would be helpful.

Distracting herself with her phone didn't seem as productive as she anticipated, nimble fingers clenching down on the little device as she was tempted to slam it down on the counter but resisted, slipping it back into the pocket of her black jeans. The mildly soothing aroma of the coffee peeked through her nostrils as she brought the cup up to her glossy lips, a small sip and she felt like a surge of energy coursed through her being and shot straight up to her brain- that or the bitter taste had awakened all of her tastebuds at once. A quick shudder, she placed the cup back on the saucer, ripping open three packets of sugar before emptying them all into her cup and used the spoon to dissolve it all. "You don't like bitter, how could you forget that?" she mumbled to herself, shaking her head almost disappointed at herself.

While still stirring to ensure the granules had dissolved completely, her eyes took a moment to trail around her surroundings, if she wasn't trying to avoid her passion so bad, she would use the dull theme of the cafe for yet another art piece, but no, she wasn't going to succumb to temptation. She stubbornly placed the spoon away, bringing the cup back to her lips for another sip- this time less disgusted by its taste.
