I smile and sip some of the hot chocolate, wrapping my tail around Ayumu's waist subconsciously. "Oh my... that's so good..." I purr contently, nestling a little bit more into Ayumu.

As you sit there, you can actually feel the magic coming from Jean-Paul. You're not sure if he can actually sense anything, but he sure is producing a lot of power!

"Very well, I lived a rather normal life if my tribe. I helpped out with the hunts, grathered wood for fires, and helpped with small jobs around my village. It was only a few months before joining the order did I take my trials. The trials determined what you were to be, if you you came back from them, based on what you did to over come the trial. I completed my trials though will and strength." I say, and tears start to form in my eyes. "I wrestled a bear to the ground with my bare hands, and resisted every temptation thrown my way. I went the most direct way through all the trials, but showed that what I lacked in creativity, I made up for, and more, in strength, will power, and determination! Thus I was bestowed the title of guardian!" I say my voice getting louder at the end. But then I grow quiet. "Even with all my skills, and raw power I could not do my job... I was just got my armor on to get ready for my patrol when fire rained down from the sky. The whole village was set a blaze, and that was just the start... Demons from the void marched in, and ripped even our most skilled fighters appart with nothing but tooth and claw! My brother had his heart ripped from his body..." Tears start streaming down my face. The demon kicked his body... and it knocked me over. I was trapped... I couldn't move... fear had made me weak... I could only watch as everyone I knew was torn limb from limb! I was forced to lie in the bloody mud, with the body of my brother on me as the only thing I had to keep me from being seen... I... I am the only one left." I lower my head, and tears drip on to my armor. "My brother always said he would always protect me... But he didn't have to die for me..."

"So that's why you were so suspiscious of me at first... I do try not to embrace too many dark impulses, I don't want to hurt anyone! I just try to make people feel a little better, turn an evil power for good and all..." I say, currling up even more into Ayumu's lap, finding her warmth to be quite soothing. "I really don't have anything on any of you guys as far tragic stories go; now I feel bad for overreacting when we first met..."

She petted Nekora slowly and looked down"Neither do I, I may have been alone but I managed, I do not think I could stand losing what Misaki or jade did."she said as she closed her eyes, her winged wrapped around herself as her tail rested on Nekora's.

I look up, and over at Nekora and Ayumu. "Your story is just as important as ine of Jade's. It doesn't matter if you lost everything, or had nothing to begin with. We all are part of the Order now, all sisters of battle. This is our second chance, we can find a new family here, finally be accepted, we don't have to run any longer." I say, in hopes of bringing everyone's spirits back up. "I can at least say that my brother was right. I use his sword in battle now, even in death I can feel him say 'I told you I would protect you didn't I?'" I say and smile weakly.

"I sense...I don't know," he says. "They're like little ovals with triangles on one end...they won't stay still...they're kind of..."
He moves his hand similar to how the koi bend when swimming. You realize that he must be sensing the koi, since he's so close to the pond. At least he knows his shapes! His eyes are moving under his eyelids, as if following the koi, despite them behind him. Perhaps he's aiming his senses in the wrong direction?
Misaki:
Jasmine nods grimly.
Nekora & Ayumu:
"A lack of tragedy can be a good thing," Jasmine says.
Everyone:
We can time skip whenever you're ready. The new character will be introduced at the beginning of the next day.

I smile at his progress. "That sounds like the koi you're sensing. I guess animals are easier to sense since their energies are stronger than others. Maybe we should try in a different garden next time that doesn't have any animals to reel in your attention so easily. Once you've learned to sense the other elements we can work on balance." I pause. "Can you sense me?"
