"I have to admit, I did not expect a feat of bravery so soon after one little training session." Van said with a small half smile as he stooped down to pick up the broken end of Riley's staff. "He may have been the size of my thumb, but a demon's still a demon. Nice goin' kid." he said ruffling Riley's hair, the boy hugging his sister for comfort as he managed to hold back his tears.

"That's right; you did well." Mala agreed with Van as she continued hugging Riley.

"...He broke my staff...." Riley said sadly as he looked down at his broken staff once he'd calmed down and let go of his sister.
"Well, since it's really just a stick-"
"So you admit it's a stick then?"
"-since it's really just a stick, you can use it as is while I'll try and carve a new one out of a tree branch or something, though that'll take some time." Van said scratching the back of his head.
((Goin' to bed now. G'night.))

{Goodnight, Zelly! ^.^}
"Don't worry, we'll have everything fixed up and solved before long." Mala assured Riley, grinning broadly at him. "Just like how before long, I'll be mastering the many arts of magic!" she exclaimed proudly.

((That 'stick' may be a running gag/brick joke thing if I have any say in it. XD ))
"Which I hope will be more effective than your healing!" Van joked in a similar tone of voice, making Riley snicker some more.

{Lol!}
"It damn well better be, or I want my money back!" Mala laughed, her hands on her hips as she grinned like a fool.

((So should we have Riley-nappers separate from Jaquel, or what? I'm hungry and brain-dead right now. >_>;; ))

{Sure, but we'd need a motive. They could be slavers looking for eager-looking youths, perverted lonely men that confuse Riley for a virgin maiden, people who have a vendetta against Mala or Van, or foolish thieves that confuse the group for nobles and are trying to kidnap this foreign "Lord's" "son". XD}

{It's fine. D: Hm...should I have that one-shot villain idea character go to Jaquel or something and ask about the whereabouts of the group?}

The demon sighed as he sat inside a birds nest in which he landed in "damm him" he said as he devoured the baby birds and then saw the parent coming back to the nest "well at least I got a ride back" he said, when the parent got close, Gage jumped onto its back and rode it back to the group.

{Meh, I can't find where I last posted as her so I'll just improvise and give her a new name...}
Marianne was unable to find any willing customers in this hellish port town, which was highly surprising to the harlot. Normally, she had wealthy men clamouring for her attention. Now, she was being avoided like the plague and constantly hearing rumors of demons. She was certainly angry for the longest while, until she began to hear of rumors about a young woman who looked similar to her and a young boy being here not too long ago. Rumor had it that they caused quite a commotion, even stealing a ship to escape! If only out of curiousity, she now began asking about so that she could find this duo and see if they were who she thought they were...

People cowered in fear and looked away as Jaquel strolled through his domain. He was just about to leave town, having finally picked up on the release of a god, when he found Marianne doing some sleuthing. "Looking for something?" he asked with his usual eerily charming smile as he stepped up behind her.

Marianne turned about to look up at Jaquel. She smiled. However, she had yet to realise just how closely she resembled the troublesome readhead that came before. "Yes, I am. I'm looking for an unusual priestess with firey hair and her young male companion. I'm assuming you've seen them?" she asked with a friendly smile.
