PhilbertTenderbean Regarding Quidditch tryouts - it is probably a good idea to start that right away. While there won't be any official "tryouts", it would be good if each head of house could inform their house of the game, that teams are looking to be formed, and that the first game starts on December 31st. Also, let 'em know that a trial game is currently going on and that if they wish to get some pre-season practice they should join in. Alas, currently only 2 non-moderators have even posted. razz Since a player can play multiple positions, the minimum number of teammates is 1, and the max is 8 (1 keeper, 3 chasers, 2 beaters, 1 seeker, 1 captain) Hopefully we can get some teams before the season starts. If not, we may need to delay the season, which will be poopy. Also, regarding secret santa... the max cost is 1000... Shouldn't there be a minimum value as well? maybe 600 or so. If people just give out parabolic scopes or blue ink, some people might be sad. I got a bruised and over-ripe apple one year from my secret santa. Cheap b*****d! I like the way you worded that soo i'll copy and paste it into the Entrance Hall. Secret Santa: If we use different ranges it'll be easier and more efficient for everyone. If you want to spend 5K spend it, if you still want to participate but only have 500g to spend then use that too. Those two different people though won't get each other's gifts.

Ignore the last message written by IceeWitch. It'll be best
if messages are sent by the Heads to their members. However, this
is absolutely optional. At this point it isn't something required because we're waiting until January. The reasons for these PMs could be if you want your house to be seen during the Start of Term feast (points go out to the house with the most posts) and remind them to come visit us.

WHOO HOO! YULARADE! xd Yeah, the Yuletide Mystery sounds more tamer and christmassy. oOoOo. So we're a go with the Secret Santa and cost limitations? Oh yeah, are we closing down the Great Hall for the elves to roleplay their decorating skills? It also gives us a chance to spiff up the Start of Term page for the feast. You know the greetings, introductions, yadda yadda. But I agree with everything

hello~
my question is about being sorted...
ive done ALL of the requirement back in oct.
so i was elagable to be sorted, but ive never been on the
"elagable" list.
i pmed icee about it and she said she would add me but im still not there.
and i asked her why i havnt been sorted and she said to retake the test,
so i have, its up there, im elagable,
but i havnt been sorted and im not even on the list.
what the heck is going on?
can someone please pm me and tell me why i havnt been sorted or if people just havnt gotten around to it?
ivegot no issue waiting, but im a little worried becouse im not even on the list that i wont get sorted at all.
(and ive tried REALLY hard too! ive even compleated the early sorting stuff for just in case!)

Yeah and we can just use the Great Hall (rename it temporarily for the main thread in the Event subforum). I liked the way you started term off last time (when you posted the positions and announcements and such) I thought it was really cute. Too bad we don't enough active people to determine ranks and such. (I always miss the n in announcements..gah!!)
I believe we're a go for the Secret Santa. If no one volunteers to help head that event then I guess two of the mods can volunteer. We can use Adonis as the "Yule Mule" lol
Shall I begin the thread and set up the mystery? I'd like Angil's, Alutian's, and Juni's opinions first though.
Also once this event is completed we need to start an Event feedback thread so we can see how well everyone liked it and suggestions on how to make future events better. Also I mentioned to Angil when she asked me if I was okay with the Event Subforum that we ask for member feedback on the new way it's organized.

I'm sorry for confusing you Winter. I just hadn't had a chance to update that list. There are about 5 people who are able to be sorted but whose name I never placed on the list. As Kaelyn already told you've just been sorted. (Sometimes it takes awhile because we want to make sure we put you in the house that fits you best) Good luck being a Ravenclaw

Not sure but after the Masque that's something we need to get feedback on.
It's great! Thanks for volunteering to help out with that! (Secret Santa) I may have someone in mind to help out with that for ya! Since time is short we have to get this done now. I won't be able to get on much tomorrow.
@Angil: I've closed down the Event (well Adonis has). The results of the Pillow Fight and the Avi Contest have been posted in the main thread, and now you're able to archive how you like to. (The Pillow Fight and Avi Contest threads can be deleted if you like. If you'd rather they stay I agree with that too since there was some roleplaying in them all)
Well Adonis will be closing down Pajama Rama in a few so right after that I'll make up the two threads. Since we'll be using the Great Hall thread as the chat thread there's no reason to create that one. I don't know how Kaelyn would like to do SS so I'll just make an UC thread for that. We'll need someone else for SS also though.
EDIT: I sent out a PM to a member about SS, and I'll be PMing those who I hope can help me in the mystery. I didn't ask Adonis to make the threads because he's done enough for the day

You're a Ravenclaw. 4laugh thanks kaelyn and iceewitch! i dont remember reading anything in the sorting hat about going back and finding your post to see what house you were in. (and im sure i read that thing like 3 times O.O) the way the sorting was being done i think i assummed that your house was pmed to you and you posted it yourself. would you guys think about adding that bit back in about how to find your house? (just incase theres more ditzes like me XD ) and THANKS! YAAAY!!! *does the ive-finally-been-sorted-dance*

You'll have to forgive me... I just remembered that not everyone celebrates Christmas, so for the sake of it all we'll rename things as follows:
Event: The Holiday Masquerade
The Chatting Hall/The Great Hall: The Hall of the Masked! (Only people with masks may enter!)
A Yuletide Mystery: A Mask'd Mystery
Secret Santa: Masked Misgivings
(Please note that if anyone can come up with a more creative name, I'll gladly use it. Just post it here and it'll be in consideration. Also if you think this is a bit too rash please let me know and we can resort back to the original names of the event.)
