I've just been doing other stuff.

We're counting down the time until my next ultrasound. The doctor doesn't want to give me my next ultrasound until I'm at least 20 weeks. He also made sure to tell me it wasn't to check the sex of the baby. You know because I obviously didn't know that already. wink I do want to know if we can find out though.

@Syllandra - I like that name and I hope he flips for you on his own soon.

Hi, all my pregnant friends! Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. How many weeks along are you all now? I am 26 weeks so I'm about to hit 3rd trimester.

smile Perfectly normal to start getting nervous towards the end. I hadn't realized you were quite that far along, Cup, since you haven't been in the pregnancy thread too much and you don't have a ticker in your sig.

Exciting stuff. heart

We'll be joining the TTC group again here in the next few months. Can we just skip the pregnancy and first 8 weeks and go straight to the happy cooing 2 month old part?! rofl

I'm nervous, too, even though this is my second kiddo so you're definitely not alone, Tea!

Dirge, I wish we could skip all of that, too!

Today is my last day of work before the baby! *does a happy dance*

I had an appt. yesterday and the little guy has not moved head down. sad But after a long discussion with my OB we have decided to try a version tomorrow morning at 9am. I guess I will be there for about an hour and a half. A half hour for the version then they keep you for an hour (successful or not) to make sure everything is okay. He said the biggest risks are my placenta separating or being damaged since it is anterior, my water breaking, or the baby not tolerating the attempt. He said he would then just end of delivering him (in the case of the placenta there would be no choice) then and there. Though he said he has never had any problems with damaging a placenta it is a known risk and there is a first time for everything. That is the risk that scares me the most since they will have to move quick to get the baby out. If it is succussful and he stays head down I will be able to VBAC but if it is not then it will be a repeat c-section. I am a little nervous so please keep us in your thoughts tomorrow. I'll let you all know how it goes as soon as I can!

Wow, Cup, I didn't realize you were that far either! You're just a couple weeks behind me. Did you find out what you are having?

I don't know, though the lack of sleep sucks a lot, I kind of enjoyed the newborn stage. I am kind of excited to have another tiny little one again. Though ask me right after he is born and I may have a totally different answer!!! rofl

Thanks Dirge. The more I have thought about it today the more nervous I have gotten. I keep wondering if I am making the right choice in trying this. My OB assured me that though there the risks are not huge (he estimated a little over 1%) but still...can't help but worry about them!

Syllandra, I hope everything goes wonderfully for you. heart

Tea, I don't blame you for worrying more this time around after last time. One good thing is that you're now far enough along that your baby should do well, even if s/he is born now.

Panda, is second trimester treating you better than first?

I've started having Braxton Hicks contractions. They're a bit annoying, at times.

This pregnancy is like a cake walk compared to what I went through with D. I barely had any morning sickness. I keep knocking on wood when I say that because I'm afraid I'll get back the morning sickness I had with D.

Success!! Baby is now head down. When people describe a external version as being uncomfortable man they aren't lying! I went in and they hooked me up to the monitors for about a half hour before my OB came in. They then started an iv for fluids. My OB did a quick ultrasound to check the baby's postion and the postion of the placenta then the nurse gave me a shot of some type of muscle relaxer (to relax the uterus) and a shot of Nubain through the iv. My OB then went to town pushing the crap out of me. It was pretty painful. The worst pain was when he acctually did flip but he did and is now head down! He worked for about 15 mins before he flipped. After that they did another ultrasound to make sure nothing had ruptured or torn and I stayed hooked up to the monitors for about an hour while the medication wore off to make sure the baby tolerated everything okay.

Everything with the baby looked good. They had expected a bit of a temp. deceleration of his heart rate durning the version but that didn't even occur. My OB thinks based on how hard it was to get him to move head down because of the lack of room that he will stay that way. Besides being a bit sore from all the manhandling I feel pretty good. I go back in Thursday and it looks like I am all set for a VBAC!!

Thanks for all your kind thoughts everyone!!! heart heart
