Rei jolted a little in surprise. He had been so concentrated in thought he hadn't noticed Holly enter the room, so when she placed her arms around him and spoke, he snapped out of his concentration. Rei looked up at her with a smile. "Sorry, you startled me." He said with a coy laugh. He wrapped his arm around her softly and smiled. "You just caught me thinking is all." He said looking once more over the papers. He then sighed and stood up, still holding her gently.

He then frowned a little, he could tell that something was wrong, and it didn't take him long to figure out that it was how distant he's been. "I'm sorry I've seemed a little distant lately, Just, after Pats death and all... then his sister, and..." Rei stopped himself. "Never mind, It doesn't matter." Rei said with a smile.

As rei smiled, his stomach grumbled a little. He laughed, a little embarrassed. "You hungry?" He asked politely.

Rei laughed and smiled. "Of course it can wait a moment." He said as he held her gently against his chest. He heard the wind just outside the window. It was a warm, calming sound, as if the wind was trying to blow away the emotions.

Rei held holly so close, he could feel her heart beat, almost at the same time as his. It felt like he was complete, even though the emptiness of losing friends filled them.

Lili closed her eyes, disappointed at the missed opportunity. Silently, she moved her hands to Drake's arms. "Could you at least tell me what happenned out there?" She asked him, almost pleading. It was the least he could do after holding her back.

(Oh, I just realized this RP had four couples! I wonder how many will survive until the end?))

Rei drew in a deep breath. He knew that if it came between him and the others, he probably would be the one to get hurt defending the others, but he couldn't tell her that, even if he was sure somewhere deep inside, she knew it would happen so. He leaned back a bit and smiled, wiping her tears away. "I promise I won't get hurt, as long as you promise me the same thing."

He spoke before he could think, and his own words scared him. What if something were to happen to her, She had been what made him feel so complete these past whiles, after many years of being alone, he never realized what true happiness was until he found her, He had become so familiar that he had forgotten what being alone was like, knowing that he wouldn't have anyone left to return to if she was gone.

A single tear welled in his eye, and rolled down his furry cheek, getting lost like a person in an endless jungle. He took a deep breath, and began to hum a soft song, trying to calm himself down. He knew that right now, the flurry of emotions from downstairs would be hard on her, and she wouldn't need his to be the breaking point to let it all seep in.

Rei smiled and laughed. "Well, sure." He said, trying to not let his stomach grumble again. As they descended the stairs, he began to think about everything that had happened, all the friends they have made, and those they have lost. He wondered when it would all end, and then he began to wonder about who would be left standing once everything was said and done, would it be the EC's, or the scientists?

The thoughts scared him, for he kept thinking that no matter what, the odds were against them. With the labs constantly creating new, more obedient EC's, as well as new weapons, the odds were stacked in the favor of the labs. Rei then shook his head a little, and then began thinking about the strength that friendship had over might. So many times they could have been killed, but because of friends, it all ended well, with no casualties in most cases.

"Awww crap." Alekksander stated, picking up the fainted Amelia from off the ground. "Mikayla, could you get me a glass of water for her?"

However, Mikayla didn't move. As much as she loved Amelia, there were more pressing matters. "No!" She bursted out, finally reaching her breaking point. "I need you to look at this!" Hastily, she shoved the dogtags into Alex's face.

Not in the mood, Alekssander was about to berate Mikayla, but he froze for a second, once he got a glimpse at the object. His jaw slackening a little bit, he simply stared at it. Then, freeing a hand, he grasped it. "Is this, what I think it is?"

Mikayla simply nodded.

"But...where did you get these?" He asked, quite bewildered.

She shrugged. "A dead guy from the labs is upstairs in one of the abandoned rooms. I dunno how he got there."

"The...labs?"

Lili faltered as she felt Drake's hands gently pressed on each side of her head. "I...I don't," she stated quite plainly, looking into his eyes. "Couldn't you just tell me instead of showing me?"

((I'm getting there.))

Drake looked at lili seriously, almost as if like it was with hatred. He sighed and touched a hand gently to her face anyway, letting his mind and memories ease onto her conciousness. He let her relive the thoughts and visuals the others had experienced. When he was done showing her the damage done, he closed that part of his mind off to her, but kept the connection.
