About Kyrra and her story... Many years ago (in 2000, I think XD) when I was into Magi-Nation I made a Magi character named Kyrra. I got the name from someone I recently met named Ciara (pronounced the same, but didn't make sense to me.) I thought it was the coolest name ever and I'd never heard it before, so I took it for myself. I later expanded it to Kyrrakina so it wouldn't be a human name. Then I got addicted to EverQuest and made up the name Ayleonnah by randomly putting together syllables until I got something I liked. I quit EverQuest but I really liked the whole fantasy world, so I made a new Kyrra who was a magic user. Her original outfit was a plain purple robe with a staff, because EQ taught me that all casters look like that. razz She had a crown which later turned into a sun crown based on one I saw in a catalog. Somehow that evolved into a sun necklace with triangular points instead of wavy ones. Kyrra's outfit changed a lot to go with her story. At one point, her family owned a bar and she worked in it, so I gave her a new outfit to go with that. Later I decided I liked the bar idea, and put it into the current story. Her hair was originally wavy and dark brown, like my own, since she's a character that represents me. It's changed a lot, but I finally decided I like the original look better. Besides, I thought it would be wrong to have to dye and straighten my hair to dress up as my own character. XD And then I had this giant Magikarp (from Pokemon razz ) named Bubba after the giant fish from Mario. I'm so creative! Anyway, he was a deity and I decided he should be part of the Kyrra story so I took him and changed him into a giant fish. I took this world I created way back when (that was originally ruled by serpents) and modified it into Kyrra's world. She was going to be a priestess of Bubba, so she got a new outfit again that was kind of foresty, until I decided to have a different deity for the woods, and Bubba became representative of the sun. Then I got into Golden Sun and created a GS inspired outfit for Kyrra that I liked so much I kept it. And then I got sick of it and modified it into her second most recent outfit, which I also got sick of and changed to her current one. biggrin And recently I redesigned her original purple robe to be cooler and used for official business. Because now instead of being a priestess, she's the "Auralyt" which is a position for someone of the highest magical ability. Her story changed into that a couple years ago when I got into RPGs (Final Fantasy VII and X, mainly). I thought that Kyrra really should have a boyfriend since I love romance, so I made up a guardian for her named Gawyn. That name came from a King Arthur book I read, but I think I remembered it incorrectly. XD His original armor was inspired by Auron's from FFX. But now he has several new outfits. And I decided that Kyrra got her staff from the High Wizard to help her since her magic talent hasn't fully developed, but I might ditch the staff completely. Then for the story I brought back some of my old EQ characters. Ayleonnah and Tairain join Kyrra on her journey (I told you it was RPG inspired). Tairain is a name I came up with since people used to call rangers "rainjars" in EQ and I liked it so I made it into a name. Ayleonnah's outfit is based off a modified version of her old EQ robe. My dark elf, Valura, became the main bad guy. That name I randomly came up with somehow. And then there's Sen. Originally I just needed a character to be the best sword fighter who lost only in the match to become Guardian. Someone had told me before that Ayleonnah reminded them of their neice's name from Senegal. I didn't know what that was, but decided to use it. Only then I started developing Sen's character and he got to be more important. Well it turns out that Senegal is some real location so I couldn't use that. I tried to come up with a new name but nothing fit but Sen. After a while, I finally decided to modify it to Sennial, which I'm really not that fond of, so I decided he isn't either and goes by Sen. He wears clothes that are far too big for him since he illegally abandoned his training to follow Kyrra and Gawyn. Sorry that's ridiculously long! I tried not to go into too much detail but I like to write. XD And here are some pictures of Kyrra's evolutions: I don't have a picture of her first look uploaded anywhere, and this isn't my computer. I can put it up later. Audley, He'll probably meet some with ,like, scars on their hands or something from other clans - or, in his clan, people with either one going down across the eye or one across the cheek. The only people who'd have the exact same scar would be his sister and father... who, uhm, don't. Perhaps his ancestors as well, but they're dead. But Alisian medicine is actually really good because they tend to not have a lot of healer-type mage people around, so it's not that likely (maybe 1 in 20 still have something from the ritual, and most definetely not as prominent as Rivek's). Because it's a ritual older than the country itself, like, they know how to do the things. XD;
I'm actually relaly afraid that the scar is, like, too cliched because it's ... really emo-popular to have a cross under your eye (it may be too meoldramatic). But it's already stuck, and I can't get rid of it.
Oh, in my world, like.. magic's a really general thing. It's basically like having a talent. You have genetic potential for magic that determines, like, your amount of magic... but the way you are trained and raised affects how effectively you can use that magic and what area your magic specializes in (nature vs. nurture). Well, sort of... it really works together. Like, magic affects one's physical appearance and personlity but it's also vice-versa. For example, you can train your magic so that you specialize in potions. Or a certain element.
Riv happens to have really little training when it comes to, like, working with raw magic. So, it manifested itself as wild magic because he enjoys falconry. He's got a good genetic predisposition, though, so when it comes to hawk-magic, he can do things that most other hawk-mages cannot. While, like, it's pretty much understood a hawk-mage can communicate on some level with avian species, very few can turn into birds themselves. Rivek can, but it takes a lot out of him because he does not have the necessary training.
---
Raesha - how come I've never seen a Petros? :p!
---
Yumeh - haha, I have one main world. But oh man, since it has eight different countries and a several thousand year history... sweatdrop It might as well be four. I wish I could do some crazy antrho races, but like.. the point of my stories is that these people are all human - which drives them to political and personal folly.... I cross Rivek over into just about everything, though. XD; PS - holy crap, Shavrisjada is a cool name.
---
Audley - name origins? Rivek --> in six grade, I thought Myst: Riven was a really awesome game. XD; Ailinar --> Popped into my head, and it sounded good. Usually, when it comes to names, I just think of a base language. Like, English names, or Japanese names, and then I alter them so that they're not diretly from another language. (Arthur --> Artorin) I make up my names mostly based on what made-up country the character is from.. all of which (except Alisian) should be reminiscient of real countries/civilizations). Alisian: Rivek, Mirab, Jinan, Vika Brennan/Tyrisian: Willowren, Bohren, Sorian, Artor, Fenne, Vendelain, Irio Vestanzan: Esperno Yuraki: Mao Akhar: Mal'kai, Amorek

And yes, Audley, thanks for the conversation. Usually, I just drop by and check the This Just In thread, but I really like learning about others' chars!
But oh, oh, how you make me talk too much when I should be writing my English paper!

On a TOTALLY different topic: NORABOO! Both PB and I got into Columbia! I'm bad at pricing, though. Crazy amazing art. But I don't know how well it would do considering Gaia's populace.

You guys have to let me know when you make your decisions. <3 And yeah, her art's great but not the most popular Gaia style, so it's hard to say. But I think there's enough art whores with money who don't just want traditional anime for it to work. whee

LD -haha, I started when I was somewhere between eight and ten, too! XD
Nora - Thank you. X3 Dunno if I'll go there, though. NYC can be intimidating. I'd help with prices, but I'm still not sure. Maybe start off with 30k fullbody CG? Then raise as she gets more popular?

These were my guesses: Noraboo 35-50k. 10-15k Quote: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/AvyBrash/batgirl1.jpg - cartoony full body 20-50k? Quote: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/AvyBrash/piratekiri2000wip.jpg - sketched cartoony full body 10-20k. Audley It's interesting now that I know a bit more about Raesha I can really see those details you mention - her appearance is really in keeping with her history and emotional background. A lot of my characters never were children, so I don't often have to think about how events as a young person shape one's life, but - if you'll excuse my colloquialisms - it's dead cool that you've worked all of that out for Raesha. I'll have to keep an eye out for the pieces where she appears in the background. Does Raesha have any other surviving semi-immediate family? I'm sure she wouldn't be at all thrilled to meet a grandparent. I'd never throught about grandparents to be honest. ^_^;; I suppose she wouldn't know who they were if she met them anyway. He father is likely still alive and asserting his manhood somewhere...but Raesha has no clue who he is. She's pretty bent on fratricide though so you can be sure if she ever met a relative, she try to kill them. whee ;; Kepp your eyes open for baby pics too--there are a couple of infant Raesha to be found in the color gallery. 3nodding Quote: One more question and then I'll stop (; Are your elven races existing ones? Like ... in mythology or a game or something like that? Oh, please don't stop! ^_^ My elven races are unique to my storyverse. Obviously there are many influences from existing popular races from several different sagas (most particularily Forgotten Realms and Dragon Lance), but as far as culture and additudes go, they have developed quite a bit differently. Thier names were developed from the Greek words from the terrain they inhabited. (sky/heaven, sun (live out in the open under the sun), tree/forrest, and rock (underground). On the subject of nameing...basically I just brainstorm until I find something that fits the character. For Raesha, I needed something a bit harsh sounding and thought Rae fit the bill. From there is was just finding another sylabal that flowed well and still fit the character. For her mother's name (Nafreaja (Nuh-FREY-ya)), I tried to think where she might have come up with the name Raesha. From a bit of her own name, perhaps? So I stuck rae in the middle of it and added to it to make a more Ouranian sounding name. Neila (NEEL-uh), as I mentioined before, is my oldest character...about 6 years old at least. She existed long before the rest of my world did so her development came about a bit differently. Her name was more of a 'close my eyes and punch a letter on the keyboard and that's the first letter of her name.' rofl Adwen (ADD-wen) was another brianstorming session like Raesha. The character was fully developed and it was just finding a name that fit. I made some friends read his description and start throwing out names. I never take any of thier suggestions, but occassionally I'll hear a sylabal that grabs me. xd Such ws the case here with 'Ad'. Then is was just completing the name with something that fit his character. My friends hate it when I make then brainstorm names with me cause I have yet to ever use one of thier suggestions. rofl Some other names that appear in my story are (no stealies anyone D:< )... Endower (EN-dow-er/END-hour)--the world Tellushen (tell-oo-SHEN)--the realm of the Ouranos Prindas (PRIN-dis)--the Helios leader Illkasta (ill-KAS-tuh)--the realm of the Helios woeful Raesha - how come I've never seen a Petros? razz ! Cause elves don't live in the US? xp ;; How come I've never seen a man who can turn into a bird? wink It's great to read everyone's replies, I'm learning so much about the charactes I've seen portrayed so many times. ^_^

I was trying to come up with some sort of reply to the original question from Audley, in regards to my characters, but I couldn't come up with anything to say in response to the question ^_^;; There wasn't really any sort of thought process to Liliths creation that I can recall. She's evolved conciderabley over the years, due to both in-game and out of game developments though ^.^;;

Wow, I've been lucking out with commissions lately. Several of the people who took massive numbers of holiday commissions have called off their unstarted commissions and are refunding, but mine have already been started and so not called off.
I'm not surprised though, I was worried when I saw them take things like 40 headshot commissions. sweatdrop
