Silver Alexander
"M-Mitsuyo... h... help..."

A black-gloved hand snaked out from the shadow to yank Silver off his feet, grabbing him by the back of his shirt and lifting him up off the ground as Meryl leapt over another hole in the docks. The fool had been running straight towards several burning buildings within the fog - a logical path to take, seeing as they were like a sirens song in this damned fog, but foolish none-the-less. The moth always ended up burned when drawn to the flame.

Her Lament sheathed when she had heard the man as she leapt beside him, her WireDagger swung the both of them up to the top of the nearest building, the outline edged between the fog like smoke mixed with grey.

Putting him down beside her, hopefully safe now from whatever was going on, Meryl grabbed his shoulders and shook them. He didn't look that flash. "Oi! Whats been going on here?! Who's been causing this?! Answer me!"

"He's coming..."

She continued humming to herself, steps keeping the beat and shaking the ground with even the lightest of footfalls. But with the beast emerging from the waters, who would notice? Or rather... what would you pay more attention to: the dancer or what which has yet to be seen?

Both had excaped being killed, but it was fine as her allies were taking up the slack. Now... who would be the first to move? And was this new female someone to worry about? Doubtful.

Dance of Gigan, Song of Shields.

Lady Sierra
*The elf maiden froze as her ears twitched, and she turned slowly, her almond shaped eyes picking out a dark haired man instantly. Her jaw clenched and she sighs, her breath escaping between her teeth in a short hiss. Steeling herself she turns to face the direction of the footsteps.

There before her, only a couple yards away... stood the spitting image of her fiance, but with ebony hair. Her skin tingled as her senses brushed up against his aura ever so slightly, a questioning touch that would act as a metaphysical tap on the shoulder.

She shuddered, something about him, felt simillar to Vahn. Not the same, but close in some form of likeness, and it wasn't the identical physical features.

She supresses another shudder as she waits for the man's reaction, all her shields in place.*

He'd barely noticed her as of yet, his attention turned towards one of the various foodcarts and vendors that littered the walkway. Bending forward, he checked from fruit to fruit, before picking out a satisfactory one and leaning back up.

User Image

Half images would assail her thoughts, as she pressed outwards, to get a "feel" for him. It was for all intents and purposes like that of a barrier, but not an absolute one. While no information about who he was exactly leaked out, various images of his past actions did flare out.

If she had sent out the equivalent of a small wave towards him, he'd sent back a tidal wave in return, effectively overloading her psionic senses, giving her "bad feedback".

The dmeonicized visage of him persisted within her thoughts, the flames reaching up all about him, until they consumed. His body, his looks, mannerisms, pattern of thought-- everything but the most obvious was exactly like Vahn was.

Victor was after his twin brother.

It was then, as he took a bite out of the pear, that he laid yellowed eyes upon her.

*Sierra's eyes narrowed and then widened at the assault on her senses... Had she been any less of an adept, she might have crumbled under the attack. However her skills were formidable, and her experience gained through the millenia of years she and her oni counter-part had existed sustained her control and sanity. Thus the elf maiden was able to brace herself unaffected by anything other than the growing horror at this man's deeds and the utter lack of remorse.

Her mouth opened as if to gasp, but no sound came out as she stared at him her own golden gaze mirroring his with equal intensity.

As she watched the fragments of memories, something deep in her gut recoiled as who this man was formed firmly in her mind.

Vahn had a twin. Why hadn't he ever mentioned Victor? Aside from the fact that the man was evil... Surely there were those at Latent who knew of this information? Why hadn't anyone told her?

For a moment she pondered if she was sensitive to the 'feel' of him because he was her soul bonded's twin... It is said that twins share a bond like no other... But this was not the time or place for such studies... The elf had just bitten off more than she might be able to chew in her current weakened state...

And she wondered, If she could sense the link between Vahn and Victor... could he sense the link between herself and his brother?

A shudder passes through her body as she never for a moment shifts her golden gaze from the man's yellowed eyes.*

The visiual contact remained for about a minute or two, before his head turned to the side.

His expression never changed, demeanor never lessened, and he certainly wasn't looking worried. Apparently he hadn't really noticed anything at all.

Another bite of the pear, and he started moving again, making his way down the length of the market, just absently checking item after item, blissfully unawares.

There were undoubtly a lot of questions, certainly some confusion at best, but the truth laid bare before eyes never lied.

Was he certainly evil? What were his intentions in this place? Where was he going, where did he come from... the questions would be endless.

However the answers, were so few in number.

And not to be found by merely staring.

*Sierra's fist clenches as the man seemingly blows her off. Her instincts told her that approaching Victor was a bad idea... But he was the only lead she had, the only link to locating her fiance.

Gathering her composure she steels herself for whatever was about to unfold and closes the distance between her and her enigmatic target.

Curtsying with all the charm and grace of an elven lady, she speaks softly her tone even and hushed in the comotion of the market, yet every word was as clear and crystaline as if she had spoken directly into his ear.*

"Good evening m'lord. Tell me, Am I adressing the man known as Victor?"

Another bite of that wonderfully delicious fruit.

"Your certainly addressing a man, of that there's no doubt." Came the sophistacted tone, words rolling off with what one could only chalk up to years, upon years of schooling, or perhaps just plain old trained experience.

Vastly different from the rough demeanor of Vahn, Victor was a whole 'nother game inside. He had quite the facility for connecting with others, developing proficiency at influencing their actions, and the ability to win support through debate, compromise, or seduction.

"As for the last part, I certainly hope you don't start every conversation by naming people." Another bite.

Why just by talking, through his mannerisms and the magnetism he had about him, it'd seem as if he were beginning to beguile the Elven maiden.

*The elf bites back a sudden stab of anger. This individual was behaving like a spoilt courtier, playing games... The very environment and traits she had loathed as a young lady of the elven courts.

:: If he wants to play it like this than so be it... But It's a waste of time.::

Outwardly she smiled brightly, one of those smiles that would warm most down to their toes, melt the ice of deepest winter with her own inner heat. She gazed up at him through a veil of black lacey lashes, her golden eyes strikingly contrasted by their dark frames and the pale softness of her smooth alabaster skin.

She spoke softly but firmly, a gentle demeanor with an underlying current as to the woman's true strength and resolve. Her words were like music in the air between them, a velvetine caress as they fell upon the ears of her listener.*

"Indeed I do not sir, but normally when I am addressing someone their identity is familliar to me, or in the least... has been confirmed. Now prithee tell me, you do not start off every introduction by playing such condenscending games with a Lady?"

*Sierra suppressed her annoyance, she didn't want to dance around the subject, she wanted to get to the point and find the truth of the matter... But it was looking like Victor had other ideas on how their conversation should go...*

It was impressive, really it was, and more than likely a fair share of men, maybe even women, had been won over by the charm she was now exuding out in full force-- but alas, the man had his back turned to her, taking the time to merely browse through a select tray of trinkets.

They were still in the market after all, yes?

His left hand moved outwards, making a swift motion and for a moment, maybe it seemed as if were throwing a weapon at her-- but if she was as nimble as he was of slight of hand, then she'd find herself holding a pomegranate.

"You seem tense."
PostPosted: Thu Sep 29, 2005 10:39 am

*While it might seem like she was TRYING to ply her charms, it was really just something that was a part of her. Call it a gift granted by her elven heritage...

She arched a finely curved eyebrow at him as her hand moved with matching speed and ease, catching the fruit easily as she laughs.*

"Tense? I suppose that's one way of describing it..."

*She traces a finger over the smooth skin of the fruit, watching Victor pick through what the merchants stalls had to offer*

He smiled softly, seeming to find something he liked. Digging into the pocket of his slacks, he pulled out several gold coins, and laid them out on the table, taking hold of a glass bauble, juggling it from hand to hand, much to the dismay of the merchant.

"Do you like mythology?"
PostPosted: Thu Sep 29, 2005 3:32 pm

*She tilts her head to the side, her crimson hair cascading over her shoulders, framing her delicate face with it's bright and curious features. Her luminous eyes watching him play with something so fragile as if it were nothing, yet with a great amount of control and skill.

Mythology? What relevance this had to do with anything the woman didn't know, but she didn't see the harm in answering.*

He held the bauble in one hand now, yellowed eyes flaring open as light began to emit from it.

"Every culture, every race-- all life you can say has it's own myths and legends. It's almost a guaranteed staple." Various images became projected into the air itself: men, women, swords, war, seasons, and even the constellations and planets.

"There is one collections of mythology I am particularly rabid in," His eyes shone with the same delight a boy would hold over a brand new toy. "Greek mythology. Just one of the many things I learned during my time within... that place."
PostPosted: Thu Sep 29, 2005 4:24 pm

*Sierra glanced from the joyous expression on the man's face to the floating illusions suspended in the air between them. She was impressed, she didn't often see someone so skilled in the illusionary arts, someone who brought the images to life with such detail. Even if she disliked this man, he had at least gained respect from her as another master illusionist.

She also observed a deep undercurrent of bitterness and malice when he brought up the place where he had first learnt about the legends of the greecian people. Something about that darkness showed in his eyes briefly and a chill crept over her skin causing her to shudder involuntarily.*

"The Greek's were a very cultured people... Not only in terms of mythology but their art and rituals as well... Might I ask 'where' you learnt about the Greecian's myths?"

He seemed to pause for a moment, before lowering his arm, the images ceasing to exist as the bauble grew dim and yet, once again ordinary. His arm lifted, and he pointed towards the uneaten fruit in her hand.

"In christianity, a forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge caused the downfall of mankind. In Norse lore, one bite of a golden apple from the tree of life is enough to guarantee godhood. And in Greece...a princess was wooed to the underworld by a mere seed."

Plainly avoiding her subject, he turned in place, the people around them both going about with their everyday lives, no long even paying them any attention, as if they were not even there.

"The beautiful daughter of Demeter and Zeus, Persephone is the focus of a story resulting in the division of the seasons, giving us the sweetness of Spring and the bitterness of Winter. Hades did not woo the beautiful Persephone, he abducted her and took her to his underground kingdom. After much protest, Persephone came to love the cold blooded king of the underworld but her mother, Demeter, was consumed with rage and sorrow. She demonstrated her anger by punishing the earth's inhabitants with bitter cold and blustering winds. Unless Persephone was returned to her mother's side, the earth would perish.

Hermes was sent to the house of Hades by Zeus to reason with Hades. He entered the kingdom of Hades and negotiated a compromise between the (usually cold and selfish) Hades and the (usually loving and caring) Demeter. Before Persephone could leave the underworld, Hades gave her a pomegranate seed to eat. By doing this he bound her to himself and his kingdom. When Demeter found out about the trickery she was angry but she was also resigned that there was nothing she could do... her loving daughter was bound to the Lord of the Dead. With no alternative, it was agreed that Persephone would spend part of the year with her husband, Hades, and part of the year in the sunlight with her mother, Demeter.

When Persephone is with Hades the earth is wracked by the sorrow of her mother. But, when Persephone returns from the underworld to walk the earth again, Demeter pours forth the blessings of Spring to welcome her beloved daughter home."

He stared wishfully into the bauble once more, which had been producing imagery to go along with the story.
