Hi! Just wanted to pop in here to announce that I now officially play trumpet! 4th trumpet in Jazz Band, heck yes!
And this is special because I'm a flute. ;D And piccolo. And now trumpet. mrgreen

Schizophrenic Spork Hi! Just wanted to pop in here to announce that I now officially play trumpet! 4th trumpet in Jazz Band, heck yes!

So hello, my second section! D: My girlfriend's a flute player. She tried her hand at trumpet and failed miserably. What do you think of it? You might've lost a little range from the flute, but you have to admit, it's really fun being able to play louder by yourself than your entire flute section combined, ne?

And the stares I get from people when I carry in my trumpet case are beautiful. "But... that can't be yours... you're a flute!" XD
You obviously haven't heard 5 flutes blasting a high C. Trumpet may be louder, but flute is vastly more painful. mrgreen It's quite fun!

Hmmmmm. i gots two trumpets. one bach omega that is what i use in concert and marching, and one piccolo trumpet that is my baby and i only use on special occasions. i also have a cornet but i don't know if that counts as a trumpet or not.

I've been playing a 7C ever since I started but recently my director told me to buy a 3C so I went out and bought one.
It's like heaven! It's so easier, in my opinion.
I also got myself a new metronome/tuner.
Simple things like this make my excited for weeks on end.
I play on a Besson 1000, it's actually not that bad. I don't hear a difference in pitch or quality. I love it. heart

I finaly got my 3C mouthpiece, but I haven't gotten a chance to practice on it yet. crying My dad's working 3rd shift at the airport right now, so he sleeps during the day. And it was Thanksgiving today, so we were all in comas after we finished eating. I SHALL practice this weekend! twisted

Hey, well, I'm just going to say I suck arse at the trumpet. 3nodding Can anyone give me any tips on blowing? I always either get a raspy sound or not a sound at all.
P.S: My BD says I need to work on tonguing. Help? crying

Yay for trumpet! Trumpet is so awesome, mine is a Bach Strad(about 35 yrs old) and his name is Milo. I heart trumpet! The first trumpet in the orchestra I play in is quitting. I'm gonna miss him...but now I'm principal!

We're playing Jupiter (Planets) for our Full Orchestra stuff. Fun! I'm "Asst. Principal". We're also playing Russian Sailor's Dance and New England Holiday. Good music.
