"That's a very good and very true point," Jace said, he was glad there was someone around who not only had a good head on his shoulders but could voice his thoughts well. Truthfully he had the same thought but he had never found the words to say it. He simply gave a nod when Vahn mentioned the book. "Yeah it's a shame when the talented are put aide for the pretty or popular, or what have you." he said shaking his head.

Catching the little notepad mid-air, she flipped through its scribbled pages. Taking in the inky words before putting it in her pocket for only a moment.

It started with a simple heartbeat, a blood rushing pulse within fair curvature. She felt the tension slide off with the first heat wave, like sandbags she could let slide to the ground. Those enormous hands closing around her throat, the fury in them, and her body remembered; the glands in her neck, the tendons, even now. Her own bizarre thoughts. She focused her buzzing memories like that of some dull thrum of conversation. Red drifted away and surrender, caught under the flood of chaos. It webbed and spanned over her, the flux of energy coating her. To her the whole room was vibrating, however, it was just her. Hands trembling as emotion boiled down to just one thing, anger. Like gasoline to flame, her hands ignited. Roaring flames cupped in the palms and her eyes would open as she witnessed the birth of two infernos becoming a single one. Red held it there, the great prisms of sunfire reds, golden oranges and yellows, all casting their color against her face as she smiled softly at it. A sigh would part the two pink lips, her hands coming together in prayer, though this did not smother the flames. When her hands opened back up, the skin wasn't charred or blistered, instead, it was warm, feverish even. The energy of the flames themselves covered her pallor like a leather glove, custom to only her. Again her hands came apart to be reunited, a holy matrimony of heat, a wave that encompassed the fighter.

The fiery redhead straightened up, readying a relaxed stance. Both of her fists remained at her sides, each one burst forth in flame that licked along her arms. She held them there, knuckles going white. Red did two quick left-right jabs, a right upper cut and then a mile pulled up the corners of her maw. The fists opened, the flames extinguished. Only shortly though.

Her energy whirled around her hips and headed south down long legs. Red breathed in deep, bringing her right leg up. For a split second she hesitated, and in that instant she forced the current to her foot. When her boot slammed to the ground, a great wave of flames flowed out, leaving an encompassing circle around her. The little embers danced against the floorboard's surface before choking and dying out.

"Heh," she grinned, awaiting the go ahead for the next stage as Alistair talked.

"Well, it's not really about the recognition of others or the acceptance, not even the gratification that comes from it all. It's about getting the job done in the most efficient and timely manner possible. We're all driven to do our jobs, which includes joining the militant forces of Lumira, for a reason. Money, love, power, control, a sated desire or need. I joined mainly as an extracurricular activity, because I need to get out more." From time to time things may have come to be said but it was within my best interest for me to receive such a makeover.' A small grin maintained itself as his eyes fluttered to a blue hue. "Velox was the name placed upon my humanity." He looked over to the other with his vampiric eyes. "Now, reborn with the essence of a blood-sucker, I would prefer to be called Exitium. Consider it my newfound name." His eyes flickered throughout the crowd once again. "And so I hope you have all heard for the first to wrong my name will quench my thirst." Once more his eyes reached Alistair's in silent communication. 'The strongest of them?' he questioned as he observed the majority. All soldiers of Nocturne. They had no room for weakness in his own eyes.

Red seemed to be burning through this style with relative ease. That was a good sign. As always, she remained the black sheep of the flock of soldiers, which was precisely why he was teaching her himself. "Alright, the second stage is a bit more complicated. It's not just meditating, it's all about control. Knowing when to release your energy and when to build it up. This stage deals with explosive skills, and so if you can't manage to get the control right, then I won't even bother with teaching you the skills. Condense your flames as tightly as you can, then release it." As more of his mentor's words poured into his mind, Alistair remained still, looking at Red. Learning that he had forsaken his name, Alistair sighed. *A name. We are given only one of those in our lifetime. Regardless of what you wish to be called, you are still Velox. Exitium is but a mask on the face of the man I called my mentor.* When he asked about the strongest of the flock, his eyes never wavered. They remained fixed upon the feral with crimson hair, something that, admittedly, he had grown quite accustomed to seeing. *That one. I am teaching her myself. Even as a trainee, she was different from the rest. Stubborn as I am, that one is.*

As the redhead waited tendrils were shoved into the black confines of pockets, her hip cocked to the bull. It was kinda funny, a smirk tugging at the pallid tulips. A name was just a name; it did not weigh their worth in life. She, for one, had many names but none of which defined her. So the man's empty threat meant nothing to her, she would not concede to debauchery. In fact, Red only focused on Alistair. It was the set of his jawline, the movement of tan lips and then the flow of words that spilled from them. The crimson tresses bobbed and shifted from their cascading fall as she nodded in understanding, though it was quick and the feral would turn so that he could only see a side profile.

Curtains of lashes closed, she looked relaxed, features soft as praying palms were cupped and held up, as if waiting for rain that she could partake in.

I was chasing your shadow, if only I knew I'd become your flame.

Strands began to rustle by some unknown wind and she breathed in, her chest ached, void of any actual heartbeat but it still felt heavy. What loomed in that cage was brimstone and fire, the sides aligned with obsidian that constantly change with the infernos intensity. In her hands though, a strange make up of flame. It danced, swirling around in diagonal loops, weaving infinity until the speed quickened. Then it took shape, a round fiery sphere. It was for the first time that she looked at something lovingly, perhaps because it came from the heart or the emotional lack thereof. The heat from it was warm against her cheeks and casted ethereal hues against the bleached pallor. Like all things though, it ended. Hands came together, compacting the sphere smaller and smaller until it seemed to disappear entirely. Both hands would lace and twist as if she was just stretching out her arms, at least that is what it looked like. Though the illusion was just that, waves of heat pushed from each pore. The energy continuously flowing, the floors creaked and groaned in protest.

Arms would drop, falling to each side before her right would come up. It was aglow, vibrant like lava with a high flux of energy pushing out hellish flames as the punch followed through. Papers ruffled, some even falling to the floor as the heat from such a push flew out around her projected target of no one. If there was contact, it would have been explosive. Such a purchase leaving terrible burns and worse. Red repeated the action with the opposite hand, this time the outer distortion moved inward, giving no hint of its true underlying intent. Once she was satisfied with the outcome, Red returned to the meditative stance; calling upon the same worshiping actions as before.

This time, it was very different. This was relatively more energy, a surplus of it slinking up her forearms under sleeves and flowed through dead veins. It continued to branch and intersect, crossing over one path and to the next like the great strands of life and death. Only with a greater amount of focus did the rivers converge, draining to the tip of both middle fingers, there it called upon and took root. Gradually its making was be known, for now though it simply form flowing arcs, pulsing on one side of an invisible globe to the other, the reverberations spanning out, crawling along the clear surface. Then somehow it found its way inside and that is when the whole thing became crystal clear. Vortexes of rising currents crashed, thrashing about until they were pulled back and squeezed down into a compact ball. When the two arms were thrust outwards, releasing the cannon of energy and flame directly ahead and away from anyone. It flew through the archways that led to the outer training courtyards with such violence that the wooden doors shuttered, rattling on their metal hinges. The crimson mane was pushed back, fanning out in her wake for only a short burst.

Once it all settled and the feral's form shifted, her gaze would settle upon the unfaltering, familiar cyan seas that seemed to always be watching and studying her as if she were a painting, one that he was trying to understand and take in. Red would say nothing, finding that both men looked at her, though she didn't lock eyes with the other.

As Jack entered the CAZ, he noticed many new faces that weren't there before. Most noticeable to him was the vampire who was talking to the king. He could tell that they knew each other by the way they looked at each other, just not how. As his glass eyes continued to scan his surroundings, he noticed two trainees having a chat. While one was a dark elf, the other was surprisingly human. It had been a while since he had seen someone else of his own race, and he hoped to get acquainted with him. However, his roacher seemed to nag him about the strange material of his armor, and he decided that he should figure out how useful it could be. With that in mind, he decided to look through some smithing manuals, hoping to figure out the relative protection his new armor gave him.

A white-haired male with tan skin walked into the CAZ carrying a stack of pizza boxes. "Did somebody here order a pizza!?" He called out in a rich, commanding voice. It was sure to catch the attention of anybody within hearing range. The man looked like he was approaching his mid-twenties, but in actuality was much older than that. Not that it was surprising, though. There were a lot of people in Nocturne who were older than they appeared to be. Vampires, succubi, all of the dark races had their eternal youth to look forward to, and so did this man. But unlike any of them, this seemingly ordinary pizza boy was something much more rare.

Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a fiery young woman who looked to be finishing up some seriously hot training. In truth, it was the blazing fire that had caught his eye, but his gaze lingered on her for her innate beauty. "What about you, Red?" The pizza boy called out to her with a playful smirk, inadvertently guessing her name due to the color of her hair. "You want a piece?"

He flew a few feet and then tumbled a few more, finally sliding into a wall. He got onto his hands and knees and just sat there for a minute, getting more and more angry with himself for not doing it perfectly by now. He got up and lost control of his temper. He put on his carapace, yelled, and slammed his fist into the wall with such force the sturdy bricks cracked. That vented his anger, so he reverted back to his normal skin and went back to trying to master Dash.

Jesus ******** Christ... even when this place is full, it's still boring as ********> The demon thought to himself idly as he sighed, ebony black claws slamming the book shut with a loud bang. The raven haired demon would then stand himself upright, hastily placing the book back onto it's rightful shelf. The demon then stood up, his ruby colored irises restlessly scanning the room. Greed would absorb the appearances of everybody new in his mind. There was a new guy here... that werewolf. He was similar to allistair in his energy signature... almost identical. The only difference was the fact that this man was a good amount stronger than Allistair. There was also a new elf. He was very smart, and used really big words in abundance. He then glanced over to the new white haired guy, which he knew next to nothing about. Probably just another trainee... He thought to himself as his tail swayed back and forth above his head, much like an enchanted snake. If anybody even came close to threatening him then that tail would strike out and pierce the enemy's heart faster than an angry cobra. For now, Greed would remain silent, contemplating what he should do. There wasn't much for him to do at the moment. He had no more training to complete at the moment, and he didn't really feel like going to the bar right now. Even though it was the city of eternal night, he figured it was still a little too early to go get s**t faced.

User ImageSteady eyes rested in examination of the redhead. She trained swiftly; another trait which fell within the realm of likeliness when it came to her comparison to Alistair. "Call me as you would like." The younger hybrid was truly the only one which Exitium could truly ever endure. His patience ran thin, and had any other disrespected his current request things would have more than definitely gotten out of hand. 'It means destruction, or ruin,' his thoughts drifted to the one who was originally a vampire. 'Chosen suitably, for my humanity has become corrupted by the disease known as vampirism. I, personally, find it suiting for myself in ways more than one.' He flashed a brief, canine filled, smile to his Beta. Then his attention turned to all others. "Who, exactly, is in need of some training? I am willing to take but two beneath my wing. Any willing?"

"Extracurricular huh?" Jace chuckled. "Well you must be pretty talented to take something like this as a hobby." Vahn's well worded statement of facts got Jace thinking a bit about his own motivations for signing up. "I guess I did it to make a name for myself, either be the best or go down in history. I'm ******** tired of being average." He made the statement as much to himself as the dark elf who was currently his conversational partner. In fact the last part had shocked him, the wds slipping through his mouth before he had even recognized them.

It was then that Jace first really took notice of someone talking to the king. The man seemed to command the attention of a good number of the people about him, including that of the king. The man obviously commanded great respect. Upon hearing that he was looking to take two students underneath his wing Jaces heart jumped. This was an opportunity! But was he ready for it? Jace clearly wasn't anywhere near his level, but the training he might get from him could be absolutely invaluable. Jace decided the opportunity was rare enough and probably enticing enough to all that he should jump on it. He rose to his feet, raising his hand with his first two fingers and thumb raised in the gesture that was habit for him. "I'm willing to give it a shot if you'll have me," Jace smiled slightly at the pun he had unintentionally made.

Vermillion hues turned to the silvery haired man who spouted delicious utopias of cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and onion...though it was all an illusion, he wasn't even carrying a delivery bag. Not that she liked pizza anyway. "No, no. I like meat rare." She gave the man a wicked grin, feral's still acquired the taste of flesh and muscle but had restraints unlike the normal undead zombie hoard. Then after Exiitum said some s**t about taking someone under his wing, Jace spoke up. Her jaw clenched and she could not hold back the rising tide of anger. "SIT YOUR ******** a** DOWN, JACE! ARE YOU A MORON?! YOU ARE!" She strode over to him with augmented speed, hands gripping his leather jacket by the collar while her face inched in. "Do you not understand you are human? You know what you are to these people? Do you really not know? Let me spell it out for you....F.O.O.D. You understand now?!" Her voice was a harsh whisper. "I! I train you...your a** is mine. So go back to training and when you are done, you and Greed leave for a mission. DO. NOT. Say anything else...." The white knuckled grip let go, setting the young man back in place. Then she turned to face the 'delivery man', dusting herself off slightly. "Training right? What are you as far as race and class?"

Chase stood quietly and watched the red-haired feral smack some of her students around. Indeed, she had a fire in her that he could respect. When she brought her attention back to him again, asking about what he was, Chase shook a finger. "Oh, I didn't come here for training." He admitted with a comforting laugh before pointing at the pizzas. Maybe he seriously was just the delivery boy. "But I might stay for it, if you were the one teaching me..."

Her gaze flicked back to the pizzas then to his smirk, one reflected back at him in kind.

"Well I'm afraid you have the wrong building..." She retorted with a grin. Of course she could train him, at least most likely. The twin bloodlust ovals stared from beneath their curtain of lashes, studying him momentarily, trying to decide if he was worth it. The time, the effort and not just the usual hand-a-book-and-learn bs.He had an attitude, kinda like a mild Greed, it meant he wasn't an easy pushover or gave in quickly...her gaze moved to Jace for a moment. She could slap him clear into Kranila. Though the glare was short and her attention went back to Chase.

                                          "Sure. I can teach you."
