Saber just blinked at the girl then looked back at Valzar, "Alright, let's try this one, special child, Pops klnow anything about all this?"
Valzar shifted again, "He's aware of certain parts." The teen kept a watchful eye on Callista.

Callista watched the exchange between the two, fighting the urge to skitter back over to Valzar.

Saber smirked, "So...which part did you leave out - the girl or the vampire?"
Valzar frowned, "Father knows the most important parts. And I am uncertain as to why you are so concerned about me anyways..."
"I'd just hate to lose my meal ticket..." he glanced back at the girl. "So what's he doing hanging around you. You're not exactly like the women he's use to..."

Callista stiffened. "He likes to be with me." Callista's momentary braveness had worn off and she scooted subtly back to Valzar. I didn't know you'd been with other women. There was a little hurt in her voice. He couldn't like their company as much as hers, could he?

Valzar frowned, somewhat perplexed by Saber's statement and even more distressed by the hurt he sensed in Callista. "What are you talking about, Saber?"
"I'm not exactly an expert but I know Ithra pretty well and if she's any example of the typical drow woman," he eyed Callista again. "Well, one of these things just aren't like the others..."

That's just...Saber, Valzar frowned at his brother. "She is different - and I like her for that..."

Callista's gaze fell. Make him stop starring at me...Please... She moved restlessly next to Valzar, her mind wanting to defend Valzar and hide at the same time. "He's not little. He's almost as big as you are."

"Stop staring at her like that," Valzar said shifting so his body better protected Callista from Saber's gaze. "Yes, I have a good friend, that's nothing so unusual."
"It is for you..." Saber said frowning at his brother.

Callista let out a small sigh of relief. Thank you. "What's strange is having a lesson and someone interupting it." She mumbled it into Valzar's side. She pictured a bird landing on Saber and pecking at his ear.

"Valzar allowing anything to inturupt his lessons is strange enough..." Saber said. "But a female being the cause...and actually hanging around with her..."
"You spend a great deal of your time around females..." Valzar said quietly. And that would not be very nice. I would feel bad for the bird...
