There was a big thunderstorm yesterday here too. No tornadoes though (we haven't had a tornado in the area since I was in like fourth grade. One major problem that this storm is causing though. Last fall, the ground froze hard before the snows came. A couple weeks ago we had a nice big snowfall come through. Now the weather's gotten nice and almost all the snows melted, but the grounds still frozen. This means that all the melt water is headed for the rivers, and after the big snowfall, there's a lot of melt water. Now you add in a big rainstorm. It's going to be a hard spring for those that live in the river bottoms, and a hard summer for the farmers around here. The fields are flooded in many places, and the grounds still froze. My dad tapes maple trees every spring, and he says that the sap isn't flowing very well. It makes sense, since the ground is still froze, but it means less maple syrup sad I don't know what else is going to be effected by all this. I pray for those who are being (and who are going to be) effected by the flooding.
