Izumi set his bowl down by the giant scorpion soup and turned to head out. "Yes I'm going to go wash all the blood off I guess. If you'd like to introduce yourself to Reck he's around here somewhere I believe. See you tomorrow for our mission. Pleasure to meet you Kaiho...." He instinctively reached into his shirt to grab his book but remembered what had happened. He made a mental note to bring a back up book with him from now on, as he made his way home for a bath and some much needed sleep.

((Later that night also))

Satoshi kept up the pace surprisingly enough. He had suspected someone of Zephyr’s rank and renown to be fast, but he definitely shocked even Satoshi. What made following Zephyr even more difficult were the obvious signs of battle that seemed to distract Satoshi and make him want to stop in order to better inspect them. From the looks of it a serious fight had occurred here, but having never really traveled very far out of Iwagakure since his arrival he had no idea what sort of fight had occurred there.

Satoshi wasn’t exactly sure why he had been brought all the way out here, or why they were moving through this particular area of the region. However, he was sure it was important otherwise his sempai would not have bothered. Whatever Zephyr was planning whether it was a test, training, or simply a talk Satoshi was ready. He wanted to prove himself in his Clansman’s eyes. He wasn’t sure how capable he was of doing such, but he was sure that no matter the cost he was going to do it.

Satoshi watched silently as his apparently new sensei moved up on a rock and began to speak. At first the conversation seemed as if it wasn’t giving important information that soon changed. Satoshi’s smile broadened as he realized he was being taught a new jutsu one that would help him pass through the academy. He was actually a bit surprised since he had figured that he hadn’t actually been chosen to be Zephyr’s student or anything. He figured that the Senju master had just been kind to him with the training before. He know couldn’t wait to get to work and hopefully prove himself to his sempai.

Satoshi nodded his head a bit as he took in everything that Zephyr did carefully watching the hand seals. He knew it wasn’t just that hand seals that would help him out in the end. It was also dependent on how much chakra he was using as well as how well he controlled it. Satoshi was a little scared that he would fail it. However, he couldn’t let a little fear deter him from learning such a crucial jutsu. Instead Satoshi gave a deep breath as he began to prepare his jutsu and attempted to performed the jutsu for the first time ever in his life.

Satoshi went through the motions again attempting to evenly channel his chakra through his body while at the same time performing the necessary hand seals. This time however, it was not that he had forgotten the hand seals, but rather that he had not properly performed them. As Satoshi’s fingers moved to create the proper hand seals they slipped performing incorrect versions of the ones that he needed to perform and in the end forcing him to fail in his jutsu. Satoshi let out a sigh as he realized that he had not succeeded in performing one successful jutsu nor had he even created a bad clone yet. Every time he had failed due to some miscalculation with his hand seals. Satoshi only allowed his body to relax realizing that he had already wasted too much chakra with his failed attempts and that he needed to rest a bit.

Satoshi opened his eyes after having rested a bit. His body still felt a little tired from the chakra that he had wasted just earlier when he had failed at performing the jutsu twice. However, such could not be helped. Satoshi easily convinced himself that becoming stronger was a hard road and not something that could be easily done. He could expect failing a few times within his life as a shinobi. However, the point was to not let these failures get to him. Rather Satoshi should learn from his mistakes and come back more determined and stronger then ever. Of course if he did not rest properly either then how was he expected to come back strong? He would need to rest at least once more if he wanted to restore his chakra enough to keep on performing the jutsus. Satoshi could only hope that he would succeed after resting up his chakra.

Satoshi opened his eyes one last time convinced that now he had rested long enough to continue with his training. It was as he stood there sure that he was fit enough to continue that he heard someone call out to him. Satoshi raised his head perplexed on who would call out to him. In the distance he could see a rather odd looking person with fanglike teeth. Satoshi wasn’t exactly sure who the person was, but he didn’t want to be rude to the man. After all Satoshi was only a visitor in the village and Iwagakure had accepted many other refugees like himself. With that in mind Satoshi waved right back a the man yelling out, “Hello.”

When Satoshi felt satisfied that he had greeted the man in the manner he deserved and that he had not completely and rudely ignored him he went back to his training. He gave a deep breath as he began to concentrate the chakra once more throughout his entire body. He had known that learning his first jutsu was going to be hard, but he couldn’t have possibly been prepared for this. Satoshi cracked his neck a bit as he found the groove with concentrating his chakra and then began to perform the handseals. Hopefully this time he would not slip up as he performed them or worse just completely forgot them.

Satoshi let out a sigh as he failed yet again. Satoshi seriously hated failing. For some reason he couldn’t seem to grasp this jutsu. It was either that he was producing too much chakra, or perhaps not enough, or perhaps even something else. Satoshi just could not understand why he couldn’t perform the jutsu. Satoshi bit his lip a bit as he realized that he was beginning to think about it too much. If he tried to wrap his mind around the subject so much it would only daunt him further. He could not risk failing such a training specially since it was the earliest thing he could do when becoming a shinobi.

It was as Satoshi thought more about how he was performing the jutsu that his delayed reaction to the other shinobi that he had seen seemed to rear its ugly head. Satoshi looked up as a rather large wolf slowly began to approach him. He wasn’t sure why the beast was coming towards him, but he could not be deterred. His sempai was still close by and he was certain that if the animal actually posed a thread that his sempai would get in the way. What was more important was finishing this jutsu. If he ran away like some chicken while the person who had offered to teach him stayed behind then he truly wasn’t worth teaching. Satoshi was sure of that as he began to take control of his chakra and slowly began to perform the necessary hand seals.
