[ Courtyard - Ever ] "Mm." Ever was probably okay -- could poke and prod here and there to make sure he was before he sat up, head still spinning and aching and stars in front of his eyes. he just needed a little bit to breathe before they dove into the fray again. As his eyes slowly came into focus, he blinked at the mess of red eyes attacking their fellow hunters, expression baffled. "I'm not sure...can they be cured?" He looked to Zeke, who worked in the infirmary, puzzled. "It goes away, doesn't it?" Probably not wise to do too much damage to fellow hunters just because they were sick. Counter: 50 [NA] HP: 26

[ Courtyard - Zeke ] Reassured that he hadn't caused any lasting damage to the Lifer, Zeke sort of settled a bit against the other man's legs, a little of the tension easing out of his shoulders, but certainly not all of it. He was still in a considerable amount of pain. It was hard, at the moment, to judge how badly he was actually hurt, but if he had to guess he'd say he was going to need to visit the infirmary. Again. Joy of joys. At the question he blinked, not at all in any hurry to turn his head enough to see what Ever was talking about, but after a moment he did, slowly, features contorting unpleasantly. Red-eye cases were not something he'd personally had to deal with much, so it was hard to say. "Usually it does, though the hunters in question are kept in twenty four to forty eight hour quarantine just to be sure whatever it is that causes this s**t is well and truly out of their system." He frowned thoughtfully. "From what I hear, the the best way to make them stop is to literally knock some sense into them. They'll keep tearing at each other until the red-eye is beat out of them. Or they're taken away from the source, whatever that may be." HP: 25

[Lydia - Courtyard] The shrieking halted for a moment when Jacobs boot connected with her body, hard enough to knock the wind out of her temporarily, leaving her bent over, gasping, her body going limp. For about two seconds before she was yanking her arm free from Aro's grasp, likely hurting herself in the process but not feeling it. Within an instant she'd gotten her feet under her, and she was able up lunge, towards the one that kicked her, the one that hurt her. She couldn't hear Aro's words, or maybe just didn't care. At that moment all she wanted was to tear somebody apart. Her hands went for Jacob's throat, a feral snarl on her lips. Attacking: Jacob for 7 Lydia HP: 13 Status: Red eye

[ Wherever - Peyton ] Another furious howl as someone barreled into her, knocking her away from her prey, to the ground, weight pressing down on her. The feral, inhuman sounds continued as she struggled, pushing and clawing at the woman that kept trying to come between her and the giant. No! No no no! She bucked and thrashed, screaming at the top of her lungs as she dragged her legs up against her chest, pressed her feet into Chel's stomach, and pushed with everything she had. Kicking the pink haired Death off with enough force to throw her into Jack. When she was free again she scrambled up to her feet, swaying slightly on her feet as she stared across at the two, lips still drawn back in an animalistic sneer. Red eyes continued to blaze. There was a sharp ringing pain.
And then, everything turned red. Well, not quite everything: the grass, trees, they began to bloom red flowers, red vines sweeping up the walls and creating delicate red flowers. They glowed an odd colour, swayed in the wind like thousand of delicate butterflies, and looked for a moment, almost beautiful. The effect faded almost immediately, the red shattering, dissolving.
The virus had burned away. They would be okay.
It really, was never quite okay. It was just passable, just acceptable, just a struggle just to live and survive and perhaps struggle another day. They were no longer knights, they were no longer warriors who fought for a just cause, who fought in the name of their beliefs and died gloriously in battle. They were Hunters, it was their skills, their knowledge, their choices that shaped each and every one individually.
And what greater skill was there then to simply survive?
As the red faded, the various divisions began to assemble. It seemed as if the last of the chaos had finally heralded an awakening. The Sun division dealt with the remaining few infected, restraining them. The Life and Moon divisions tended to the injured and administered what they hoped was a temporarily working vaccine. The Mist and Death divisions split up, searching for remaining signs of aftermath.
For the first time in what seemed like a very long time, all divisions worked seamlessly. It took almost no time for everything to return back to as normal as things could be.
The island persevered. Despite the incredible damage, there were still runes in place. All buildings had been prepared, Deus Ex itself was built on centuries of war and strife. They were no longer knights, after all. This was the methodical calculation of a Hunter. Survive. Persevere.
Become stronger. OOC THE AFTERMATH- Thanks to the protection runes, all dorm rooms take less damage then it originally seemed. Third floor takes the biggest hit: - All plumbing on the third floor is borked. In order to fix this, you need to do a prp where you fix the plumbing yourself. This will require some breaking down of walls, reattaching pipes, etc etc, google plumbing fixes. You may also use this RP to fix walls and windows. This will otherwise run your Hunter approx $1000 if you charge an "npc" Hunter to fix things (not requiring RP if you pay). - If you live on the second floor: roll 1d10 below. This is the amount of damage your room takes. If you are sharing a room, only one person has to roll. At 10, a couple of walls get knocked over and destroyed, and you lose a small portion of your furniture, and windows. At 1, you get lucky. The rooms themselves are still entirely in tact. If you do not roll/were not in this RP, it is assumed your Hunter's room takes 8 in damage if you live on the 2nd floor (walls destroyed, windows destroyed, some minor furniture damage). - Please collect +1 rp points and another +2 rp points if you posted above 800 words. Feel free to wrap up your posts of your Hunter cleaning up/ feel free to write aftermath prps. As per usual, for any Hunter wanting a follow up rp, feel free to pm a gm! (Zoobey, lizbot) - If your character was infected by the red eyes virus the next time they are exposed to the red eyes virus, they will be immune. (FOR ONE RP) - If your character was infected by the green eyes virus the next time they are exposed to the green eyes virus, they will be immune. Yes you can be immune to red and green for the next turn(s) (FOR ONE RP) - If your character attacked at least 5 times in this ORP, and they own a BASIC runic weapon, they automatically get their choice of a standard runic weapon upgrade from their basic runic weapon. Please see below on standard runic weapons information. POOLING RESOURCESIt seems this invasion has sparked a sort of determined awakening on Deus in the divisions. They have finally, in the first time in a while, gathered together to consolidate their finds for each division. The result is quite a few new developments, hopefully to prevent the situation from worsening. While each Division Leader has their own personal interests, it seems they do have a common interest at heart, as each of them has personally invested a lot of time onto the island, finally giving the clearance for multiple co-divison project releases. OOC: These are all NEW ic content your character may now explore and/or obtain! gaia_crown RUNIC STANDARD/ ADVANCED WEAPONS UPGRADES- Standard and advanced runic weapons have been unlocked. This also covers the difference between standard/advanced runic weapons and runic weapons upgraded through bonus RP points. All Hunters eligible icly and oocly may apply! gaia_crown RUNIC WEAPON APPLICATION: For emergency weapon lockdown situations, you may now use ADVANCED runic weapons as backup attack weapons. Your Hunter will need to take the practical runic weapon exam (see link). This will allow them to use Advanced Runic Weapons with much higher dice then melee in any weapons locked battle. gaia_crown S.P.E.C.T.R.E Hunters may also obtain the SPECTRE apparatus. It provides additional communication, support, and information on missions. gaia_crown EMERGENCY MISSIONS: The EMs page has been updated. A new mission is now featured "Emergency Mission: Classified" to deal with the new threat. gaia_crown Any questions? As usual, ask them here.

Otto helped, finally finding some stability in the Divisions now working in teams. Taking out the last of the infected was a chore. One he was sorely tired of. But once it was done, and he'd gotten his own wounds patched up?
It was time to check his room.
He made the long trek to the second floor, every muscle aching for rest. He was dreading what he'd find, as he passed by bits of debris and wreckage on the second floor. Would it be a repeat of the complete disaster his old room had been? Back those many years ago?
He found his door, in tact, and opened it up.
Inside, he found relief. A window or two was cracked. Some belongings had fallen to the floor. A potted plant had smashed onto the floor, making a small mess. But everything important was safe. It was fine.
Otto breathed a sigh, nearly collapsing under his own weight right there. He'd clean in the morning. For now, he dragged himself to bed, flopping over on it listlessly, and dragged a familiar plush of a rabbit close to his chest.

Jacob felt a twinge of guilt when Lydia doubled over from his kick. Aro was much more calm about this entire thing, trying to reason with her. From what Jake could see, reasoning didn't really seem to work with the Hunters with red eyes, but maybe he was wrong? He hoped he was wrong. Unfortunately, he was right. As soon as Lydia had caught her breath, she was on her feet, and had her hands wrapped around Jacob's throat far too quickly for him to react. He screamed again, but it was choked off as she squeezed mercilessly. Jacob had the perfect opportunity for a good long look at her eyes while she did so, a detached part of him thinking she looked like the Terminator. The other part of him was desperately trying to survive the attack. His need for air overrode all other pains, and he even tried to use his broken arm to defend himself. It didn't work properly, and he could only weakly scratch at her with it. His vision was beginning to tunnel when a new pain coursed through him, demanding attention even as he asphyxiated. He was unaware of the red vines and flowers overtaking the buildings, but he did feel their shattering. Only aware of it now that it left him, he dimly realized he'd been sick, too. The roaring in his ears and grey-ing of his vision prevented him from forming anymore coherent thoughts.

red eye and immunity Please note that eye immunity is not true immunity, but more of a resistance. You have more control, the one reacting is yourself, but the impulse and desire for violence remains. In its way, this resistance can be more insidious and dangerous to the hunter and those around them.

When Chel went upstairs there'd be a slight mess- some overturned furniture, a broken mirror- nothing extreme.
However right now she was on the ground, holding her side and grunting at the brainwashed twosome after being kicked heartily and shoved into Jack. When she brought up her hand, there was blood. Having not realized Peyton and Jack were now normal, she pushed herself up and began to stagger elsewhere in an attempt to bandage herself before the other two noticed.
Maybe if she was lucky she could get it bandaged and still come back to intervene ... ?
It was only in getting a few steps that she realized the battle noises had quelled. She turned to see the red gone from Peyton's eyes and Jack's sword completely absent. There was a noise of relief and then she fell to the ground (less out of exhaustion and more because it was easier to bandage while sitting).

Rep returned to his room expecting the worst, and found that the worst had happened. He could see the outside, the red flowers, all of it from within the building.
Knowing Harrison wouldn't be back for some time yet, he stooped to get to work retrieving the things that were most valuable to him.

[ Dorms - Gretchen ]
She didn't have a clue how she had gotten to the first floor. Gretchen remembered running to Isaac's room, trying to wake the sleeping Sun and failing. She remembered vines with thorns as long as daggers, they'd crept in through the door, along the floor. They'd slithered closer and closer, wrapping around furniture and and climbing up along the edge of the bed, circling her. She remembered being afraid, terror making her freeze in place, making her helpless. Leaving hadn't been an option anyways, not if it had meant leaving Isaac. There'd been nothing she could do. No escape.
Helpless. She'd been absolutely helpless.
She remembered the vines closing in around her, and then nothing. And when she'd woken up she hadn't been in Isaac's room anymore, and there had been blood on her hands, on her clothing. She came to herself slumped against a wall in the main hallway, and almost immediately began to shake. A moment later the tears had begun, slowly at first, rolling down her cheeks as she'd stared down at her hands in horror, wondering whose blood it was, how it'd gotten there.
What she'd done.
A moment later she'd curled in around herself, folded over her knees so her head nearly touched the floor. Her shoulders were shaking, her hands were buried in her hair, and she was sobbing. Not just crying now, but sobbing. Great wracking sobs that bounced off the walls around her.
They drowned out the venomous voice that hissed through her head, calling her weak, calling her useless.
That, at least, could be seen as a silver lining.

There was nothing Ever could do, in this moment, and so he simply eased in to look Zeke over -- to make sure he wasn't too injured, nothing permanent, to look over the worst of the burns and wince ineffectually. They needed water, but to get it would mean going through the swarm -- and as he had that thought, the world turned red. He pressed hands over his ears with a wince, for some reason expecting an explosion. There was none; instead it was over, in a flash, and he lowered his hands slowly, cracking his eyes to look around. Aftermath. Fine. He drew a breath in and blew it out, offering Zeke a hand up. "Let's get your burns dealt with."

As the worst of the danger faded away, Lukas's attention turned instead to the dorms -- or, perhaps, the crumbled remnants of the dorms. He stared at the upper floors, the damage done by winding vines, and a quiet thought came to the front of his eyes, making his eyes sharpen. There was probably rubble inside. And in that rubble... He looked around, brief, and then took off purposefully to enter the damaged building, careful on the threshold to make sure he didn't end up chest-deep in a hole, with a turned ankle or worse. Then he paused, head cocked, to survey his surroundings. His intention had been plunder, but as he entered, that idea went out the window. In truth, there were simply too many witnesses -- but the fact that there were so many injured followed in close succession. He drew in a breath, blew it out in a sigh, and the purpose went out of him. He went deeper slowly, thoughtfully, looking people over until his eyes lingered on Gretchen, and he grimaced. Slowly, he sank to a crouch next to her. Not saying anything, just sitting, and maybe waiting to be noticed.
