Sasha's eyebrows fluttered suggestively at Erika's shy description of this 'goofy boy'. A crush perhaps? She wouldn't press the issue, but if the gym leader were to continue, she wouldn't be against the idea. "Now was he holding back because of the usual reasons, or because you s'hink he was actually stronger z'han he let on?" The usual reason was that despite Erika's standing as the arguably most powerful Grass Pokemon specialist in all of Kanto, her calm and feminine demeanor often made her opponents (mostly the boys) hold back. Like a true lady, however, Erika never let it bother her, and simply gave each battle her all, often to the mistake of more than one macho-man who got his Machoke trashed by a walking bouquet. Sasha did her no such disrespect, and set Kitsune out in a sweeping victory. But even she, who had known Erika for many years, felt a little bad about taking advantage of her Pokemon's severe weakness to fire. Speaking of fire, for a moment, Sasha pondered what would happen if Mike decided to challenge this gym with his usual Pokemon. Her lips tugged into an uncomfortable looking frown as she imagined the smell of burning flowers and hysterical laughter. The thought of made her shudder.

"Uh, ma fleur," Sasha said, tipping her cup at her friend. "If z'hat boy I told you about shows up here, you might want to make sure you put away some of your more delicate arrangements. He has a way of turning most places into a smoldering crater." She knew/hoped that Mike wouldn't intentionally burn the place down, but he did tend to get...carried away. Yeah, that's the nice way of putting it. The mean way of course being psychotic. "And you might want to pass on offering him tea." she giggled at the last statement, imagining the twitchy boy trying to act composed and civilized, especially opposite Erika. "Oh, z'hat boy." He was a nut (once again being nice), but at he really tried. At least there was that. Sasha shook her head, wondering how Kasiya was doing putting up with him. She certainly had her hands full with Mike, and then some.

"Oh... I don't think so." Keegan smiled as Sheena set her Makuhita on the attack again, and the stubby little Fighting-type rushed toward Pan, looking more than eager to pummel some respect into the egotistical Grovyle. Normally, Keegan would have been all for it, but he wanted another win before he finally took on Norman, and Pan was already looking pissed off enough as it was. "Pan, Grasswhistle," the redhead called. He wasn't so sure Punchy would be as effective when he was asleep. The Grovyle's smirk matched his trainer's as he raised his hooked fingers to his lips, and soon a soothing melody was drifting out across the battlefield.

The Guts Pokemon had started to slow noticeably the moment the sleep-inducing sound had reached his ears, and his steps grew slower and slower until he fell to his knees, and then onto his belly, sound asleep. "No, Punchy! Wake up! You can't fall asleep on me now!" Sheena wailed, but of course the Makuhita did not wake up.

"I think this would be a good time for Absorb," Keegan said, giving a quick nod. Pan, still able to feel the sting from being slapped repeatedly by the annoying Fighting-type, gave a nod of his own. The leaves on his arms began to glow a bright green as he began to draw out Punchy's energy and transfer it to himself. Now, Absorb wasn't notoriously powerful but it did make the Grass-type feel a little more refreshed. "Again, Pan," Keegan called. "Keep it up." He figured that Pan would be better off just sucking away as much of the Makuhita's health as it could before it either was knocked out, or woke up to retaliate.

"Come on, Punchy!" the pink-haired girl continued to wail. "You have to wake up! You can't sleep through the whole battle! You'll lose!" Poor Punchy continued to doze on, however, apparently oblivious to the Grovyle that was now continually sapping away his energy. Sheena pouted noticeably, but behind that pout was a devious little grin. If Punchy didn't wake up soon, she'd just have to send out her secret weapon!
=====
Falkner quickly called out for his Spearow to dodge, regardless of just how futile he knew it would be. Even though it tried valiantly, the Water Gun slammed it from behind and sent the tiny bird careening into the wall, where it remained, comically splattered against said wall, until its blue-haired trainer recalled it. Fist impressions be damned, this Jasper kid wasn't playing around.

"All right, you win the first round," the gym leader said, his calm expression unwavering as he held up his next PokeBall. "This one shouldn't be as easy. Pidgeotto, go!" A much larger bird made its entrance, flapping its powerful wings and giving a sharp trill as it landed, eyeing Croconaw carefully. "Gust attack," Falkner commanded, his tone authoritative. The Bird Pokemon was quick to comply, shooting up into the air before it once again began to flap its wings, sending a twisting, vicious blast of air at the gator.

Once Ben's Pokemon were healed up, he had decided to take them out for a stroll back down Route 32. The Pokemon here were a bit stronger and more diverse, which Ben knew would offer better training than the old route. For now, he strolls along the waterway, making sure to stay on a straight path so he wouldn't get lost. 'Oh, yeah.. I should probably buy a map before I leave town,' he thought. It was a warm and sunny afternoon with a light breeze that blew through the grass, perfect weather for a lot of Pokemon to be running about in the open. Even the Magikarp in the water seemed lively, and the fishermen on the pier seemed to be in a good mood because of it. 'I'll have to see if there's anything worth catching in there, sometime,' he thought as he passed by, looking down into the grassy area to watch a flock of Mareep heading down for a drink.

[OOC: Just noticed that Ben looks a lot like this generic Pokemon dude, so I prettified my post :3 This is what you call Ben's Summer attire, versus the more Autumn attire he has on for his sprite.]

Okay, so her secret weapon wasn't so "secret", as Keegan probably remembered she had it, after all, and soon it became apparent that her Makuhita wasn't going to be waking up. Sheena made a frowny face as Pan stole another chunk of the Fighting-type's health, his Absorb still on repeat as per Keegan's instructions. The girl tossed a long, winding lock of bubblegum-pink hair over her shoulder as she withdrew the Guts Pokemon - even if he were to wake up now, it probably wouldn't take much to knock him out, and the Grovyle was looking as fresh and energetic as ever. "You did good, Punchy, but we need to train some more," she said, giving the PokeBall a little kiss before she clipped it back onto her belt. "Okay Boris! You're up!" The cheerful girl unleashed her dopey Numel with a flick of her wrist.

It wasn't surprising when Sheena withdrew her Makuhita, and in truth, even Keegan was starting to feel a little sorry for it. Even still, if she could ever get the thing to evolve into a Hariyama, he knew the pink-haired girl would be that much more formidable. Her Numel took Punchy's place, and the redhead smirked a bit. One of the last times he'd seen Boris had been when he and Sheena had teamed up to battle that nosy reporter lady and her cameraman, and the little guy had put up a solid fight despite nearly being stomped into the ground by a Loudred's foot. Keegan recalled the battle with a frown, as the then newly-captured Tierra had been less than obedient and between the hyperactive Sheena and the unresponsive Geodude, he'd looked like an incompetent moron on national television. Bad memories aside, the redhead kindly reminded himself that he was dealing with a Fire-type, which wasn't such a hot match-up for Pan.

Sheena hadn't missed Keegan's little trip down memory lane and she smirked a little. She hadn't exactly tried to save him from looking like an idiot on TV, either, but then again, he usually managed to pull that off without any help whatsoever. And, just because she had a clear type advantage didn't mean she was going to hold back, either. "Boris, blast 'em away with a Flamethrower!" she called, not wasting a second. Boris tilted his head, giving the command a moment to sink in before he opened his mouth and unleashed a torrential stream of fire at the obnoxious Grovyle.

Right, she taught it Flamethrower, Keegan thought as the flames rushed toward the gecko Pokemon. Since Pan's primary concern was almost always himself, his trainer didn't even have to tell him to get the hell out of the way, and the Grass-type made use of his impressive speed to avoid being turned into a roasted gecko. While Pan had the tendency to annoy the ever-loving s**t out of Keegan, he also didn't want to see the Grovyle burned to a crisp. "Grasswhistle, again!" he called quickly. Hey, it'd worked well against Punchy.

It was very early in the morning when Miharu opened her eyes again - so early, in fact, that it was still dark in the infirmary where she was currently situated. She lay quietly on the gurney for quite some time, listening for sounds of life around her. She sat up slowly, finding that the pain in her head had receded to a dull, almost distant ache and she felt strangely refreshed and rejuvenated. Sometime during the night, the nurse had unhooked her IV and she absently tugged at the little wad of cotton and medical tape that had been placed over the injection site for the IV. She'd also been left a small tray of food, consisting of ice-cold soup broth, heavily congealed white rice and a bowl of some kind of red jello - it was hard to tell in the dark.

Either way, Miharu was far too hungry to complain and within minutes she'd eaten every last scrap of food given to her. After stacking her dishes neatly on the overhanging table, she swung her legs over the side of the bed and allowed her feet to touch down on the cool floor. A chill went through her spine and for a moment she froze as her memory returned in full. She sucked in a shaky breath and calmed herself, keeping her tears at bay as she searched out her bag. In the meantime she'd found a light and after some fidgeting managed to put on a dim setting that wouldn't disturb anyone else. She was a little surprised to find all of her belongings were still there, at least at a glance, but after being a little more thorough, she came to the discovery that her PokeNav and PokeDex were both missing. He didn't take my money? she thought, once every cent had been accounted for.

One thing was certain, however, and that was that she was so done with being cramped up in this tiny room. The dress she'd been wearing before was nowhere to be found, but she wasn't overly surprised by that. She was able to dig out the jeans and shirt she'd been wearing before that. After dressing herself, she slipped on her sandals and pulled her hair into a ponytail at the nape of her neck. Save for the bandage in place over her right eye, covering what she assumed was a neat row of stitches, she'd adopted her previous look, and she felt a quiet sense of nostalgia as she slipped out of the infirmary.

Thanks to Gastly's Hypnosis, Damien had slept soundly through the entire night. The Ghost-type didn't even have to call upon Drowzee to eat their trainer's dreams, either, and that had allowed the Pokemon to get a good rest, as well. Damien had always been one to awaken early, a habit he'd gained from early mornings with his Grandmother, Penny, back when she did her rounds at Mount Pyre. He hated to admit it to himself as he dressed and combed out his slick, dark hair, but sometimes he missed the simplicity of the routines back at home. He'd stocked up on enough Pokemon food for his trio of Pokemon before boarding the ship and the three ate quickly before being recalled into their respective PokeBalls - Damien didn't feel like dealing with the chatty Gastly so early in the morning.

After packing up all of his belongings, the dark-haired youth headed down to the same little canteen that he and Karrigan had visited the evening prior, and ordered himself a coffee with triple cream and triple sugar. He may not have been the sweetest of people, but he certainly had a bit of a sweet tooth about him. He'd started to wonder where the redheaded girl was, and as he sat and sipped his morning coffee, he figured that it was likely that she was still asleep. Not that he cared, really, but her company hadn't been all that horrible. She wasn't annoyingly talkative or cheerful, and despite the small talk they'd made, a good portion of the evening had been spent in silence. He wasn't sure why, but he liked that about her. Perhaps he could make a new friend after all.

((That's what the trainer cards in our signatures are for. wink ))

The girl tilted her head as she looked in the direction Mike had gestured, but of course, she still couldn't see anything. He's still seeing the "ghosts" then? she thought with a frown. That makes sense, I guess... Kasiya sighed and did the only thing she could think of to help, which was continue to hold him, wincing a little as he let out a muffled screech into her arm. "You may be a haunted, criminal mutant, but at the very least, you're my haunted, criminal mutant," she offered cutely.

Her gaze fell on the red sphere again and she nodded, hoping that returning the orb to its rightful place would help him along the way to some sort of closure or redemption. "Of course," the blonde answered as she was helped to her feet, and she smoothed out her clothing as she followed him up to the altar. While logically she knew there wasn't really anything tangible she could do to help him, she felt that being there to support Mike every step of the way was just important.

Jake couldn't help but smile a bit at the stranger's introduction. "A showoff? Nah. If you'd showed up on a unicycle, juggling chainsaws and babies, well, maybe then you'd be a showoff." The blonde smirked a bit as he shook Kevin's hand, completely oblivious to his disguise even if he didn't think the guy looked like a Kevin. "My name's..." the blonde trailed off mid-sentence, as he was able to hear Madison's voice in his head, calling out to him.

Jaeshan! Tell him your name, Jaeshan!

Realizing he'd spaced out a bit, he chuckled. "Uh, sorry. Yeah, my name is J... Ja... Jaeshan," he finally choked out, a severe throbbing having started inside his head. A flood of images all seemed to hit him at once and he felt quite dizzy. In an instant, Sigilyph was at his side, helping to support and stabilize his trainer. In the meantime, Rotom had drifted back over to the grave, using the distraction to disappear from sight, something that only the Avianoid Pokemon seemed to notice. The pain and lightheaded-ness didn't last long, and again Jaeshan forced a laugh. "I think we should get outta here. I've had just about enough of this place."

'One down, one to go,' Jasper thought incredulously as he watched Falkner recall his Spearow. Inwardly, the bandanna-clad boy flinched as he almost expected for that Pidgeot to get a whack at him, but that wouldn't be the case again as instead, the gym leader send out the middle form of Pidgey and Pidgeot - Pidgeotto. 'This one looks a lot more formidable than that Spearow,' the boy thought, brow creasing slightly. The Gust whipped up by the Bird Pokemon was nothing to laugh at as Croconaw had to grit her teeth and firmly plant her feet in order to not get blasted off the top of the platform.

"Strong," Jasper mumbled, scratching his chin. "And I bet it's fast, too." Pidgeotto was definitely a step up from the itty bitty Pidgey he'd battled earlier, and though he still had Ditto waiting in the wings, he wanted to hold off on sending the blob out for as long as possible. "Toto-err-Croconaw, Water Gun, again!" The gator nodded once more before taking aim at the flying type and she let the Water Gun rip. Having been on the wrong end of that Spearow's nasty little beak several times, she was a hurting unit and wasn't sure how much more she could stand.

Hayley glanced up over the edge of her sketchbook, still a bit curious as to whom Riza was talking to. The brunette decided that if it was important enough, Riza would probably tell her, but on the off-chance that it wasn't, Hayley decided to put it out of her mind. She'd finished up the rough sketch of Ivy in what she thought was record time, though she knew just by looking at it that something was off on the little leafy fringes of her collar. Hayley wasn't a perfectionist when it came to her work so she chose to let it be, instead flipping the page over as she started to draw little cartoon doodles of her Pokemon team. Cynder was lucky enough to get two cute little caricatures, however, and the brunette's smile was impossibly huge as she added a tiny little fang to the Charmeleon doodle. 'I can't believe he's evolved,' she thought, glancing between the Charmeleon and Charmander. 'I wonder if he'll ever go on to his final stage...?'

"Well, she was sort of here first, it'd only be polite to let her go first," Riza answered, once again glancing over at Hayley. The girl had made herself comfortable and had taken out a book of sorts. Was she drawing? Riza wasn't sure. Either way, she got the feeling that Crenu was eager to get off the phone. He never had been the overly talkative type.

"If you want, I could always put off my challenge a bit, that way you could meet me here and cheer me on," she said, now twirling a bit of her dark hair around her finger. "I mean, if you're not doing anything else and whatever. But if you don't want to, that's okay. We can always meet up later and have lunch or dinner or something." He didn't sound overly happy and that worried her, but she knew if she questioned him, he'd probably just get angry. Deciding to suck it up, she took a deep breath. "Is everything okay? You sound upset. Are you mad at me?" she asked, presuming that he hadn't already hung up on her, of course.

Katie hadn't been to a Milk Maid Cafe in a very long time, yet as she opened the doors and stepped inside, she found that it felt both familiar and welcoming. At a glance she could see that there were already a few people here, most with tall glasses of milk in front of them. The smell of food wafted through the air and the orange haired girl very nearly started drooling right there on the spot.

"Please, sit anywhere you'd like and I'll be right with you," one of the Milk Maids had come up to Katie, sporting the trademark uniform.

"Okay, thanks," Katie answered, quickly finding herself a table that would be big enough to fit her team around. She knew her Pokemon would be welcome (so long as they behaved at least) as she saw some of the other customers with Pokemon out as well. One by one she let everyone out, making sure to give Genki and Noa a stern warning that if they started fighting neither of them would get something to eat. Nell was incredibly excited to get to see Miles again as the fact that he still looked sort of the same but was much bigger intrigued her. Even the little Solosis appeared to be on her best behavior, having hung back from everyone else.

Katie purposely left Kord until last, watching with a wide grin as the entire party reacted. Well, everyone but Darla as the Solosis didn't appear to care one way or the other. The Buneary gave a squeal and hopped over to her friend, looking up at him with wide, adoring eyes as he was now as big as Miles! "Yep, Kord's an Electabuzz now," Katie said proudly, noting that even Genki and Noa seemed to share a nod of approval. "Our next gym match is in Veilstone City, and I've got a pretty good feeling about it, too!"

Needless to say, Crenu was quite surprised by Riza's sudden offer. Hit thumb rested on the red end button, sure he was going to hear her good bye as bad thoughts started to brew in his head. But they were all dispursed as he lsitened to her words, and at first he didn't know how to answer. But she wasn't done, after her invitation she followed with her words of concearn, and he cursed himself silently for not hiding it better. Or maybe she just knew him well enough now that she could tell when he was bothered, a concept which scared him but also brough something else with it. "...No, everythings ok." And with that, a small smile came to him, as it was partially true. Crenu was struggling with his paranoia, and Riza was hard to read. But whenever he thought the worst she showed him just enough to make him reconsider. And make him feel like it was his fault, which it probably was. He was about as cuddly as a cactus after all. It was hard to say more, but Crenu sighed as he forced himself to try and be more...open. "I just have a lot on my mind, I'm not mad at you. S-s..." He took a deep breath, and smiled. "Sorry to make you worry. I don't know a lot about cheering, but I'll be there. Ah, where exactly is 'there'?" Through their whole conversation, Crenu didn't recall her saying what gym she was challenging. However the important thing was that he felt better, and as he held up a plain white button up he felt that maybe he really was over reacting before.

Ken was surprised to hear Jae introduce himself by his real name, Rowan had told him he was going by Jake at the moment. It seemed a bit of his memory had coem back, which was great! But he still didn't recognise Ken, so obviously it wasn't all back. After all, who could forget the marvelous glamerous Ken! But wait, he wasn't wearing his normal get up, what if he remembered everything but just didn't recognise him without his wonderful cape! Surely even his family couldn't pick him out from a crowd in this dull Noir outfit. He didn't have any time to contemplate that further though as Jae immidiately started to wobble, Ken put a hand on him to stabalize him, though the strange one eyed pokemon was already there doing the same. "Ah, yes quite. Eterna's not far from here, you look like you could use some food or drink." The strange flying pokemon seemed to have Jae just fine so Ken backed off for now, just walking beside them away from the cemetary. "... Jaeshan was it? I gotta ask. What exactly is that pokemon you've got there? I've been around the block one or twice, but I can't say I've ever seen anything like that before. It's....a little disconcearning." Ken thought it was pretty cute really, but it definitely had an eerie feel about it.

Mike and Kasiya's shoes clicked lightly on the stone as they made their way down the path. The fog continued to surround them, but it did not suffocate or intrude. The ghosts, however, drifted through the fog, eyeing the two while they walked. Mike heard hushed voices cry out to him, but could not quite make out what was being said. Despite being surrounded by them almost constantly, he couldn't help but feel a little tense. Mike grabbed onto Kasiya's hand, squeezing gently as he shrunk slightly in their presence. Soon the two stood at the peak of the mountain, which (if it weren't for the fog) overlooked the entirety of the region. Even so, the very tips of the tallest buildings in Lilycove poked through. Before them, in a light coating of moss and vines, stood the altar that once housed the Red and Blue Orbs. It lay bare now, as both had been stolen by Team Aqua and Magma years back. "Looks like no one in Team Aqua had the same attack of conscience." he mused. He should have grabbed it when he and Kilik were rescuing Sasha. Mike hoped at even Archie wouldn't be stupid enough to try the same trick twice. If so, he'd have one pissed off mutant knocking on his door.

"Well, here goes nothing." Mike gave one more look at Kasiya for strength, then placed the jewel in the indentation where it once sat. There was no giant beam of light, no celestial fanfare. Just a 'tink', as the orb fell into place. Mike blinked, looking up at the ghosts for confirmation. "So...are we good now? Is that it?" They stared back with lidless, glowing eyes at his question. Without a word, the one that had been throwing out poor ideas earlier leaned forward (becoming oddly visible to the others around), staring intently at the boy. Still silent, he reared back his hand and slapped Mike across the face so hard he comically spun in place. "Wha-what?" he sputtered, entirely shocked by the reaction. "Did I do it wrong, Kasiya?" It had hurt, a lot, but it was different than whenever Milo would hit him. This felt tangible, real even. The smaller phantom giggled at Mike's confusion and began to sink into the ground.

Not one of us!

"Huh?" Mike whipped around, following the shrinking shadow with his eyes as it retreated into the fog. Shaking his wits back in place, Mike frowned, took in a deep breath and threw out his hands, jetting a stream of flames into the mist, which parted slightly, revealing the offender.

"Oh, I should have known." Mike growled, rubbing his now red(er) cheek.

Is it just me, or is the way this fog moving more than a little bit creepy? Kasiya thought, gulping a little as she and Mike made their way toward the altar. She was seriously considering sending out Shocker to light up the area with Flash, but she somehow knew that it wouldn't really help. She glanced over at Mike, returning the squeeze as she did her best to remain composed. So that's it, she thought, looking at the altar carefully. She could see the two curved grooves that should normally house the orbs - or two of them, as it seemed. If the red one summoned Groudon, then the other must have served as the master to Kyogre. As Mike set the red sphere into its place, Kasiya held her breath.

The blonde would have been lying if she had said that she wasn't totally expecting the altar to explode as the orb touched down, or for it to morph into some sort of mossy stone monster that was ready to clobber them. If anything, the whole atmosphere of the mountaintop seemed to change - it felt calmer, somehow. "Blue Orb?" Kasiya asked, pointing to the vacant spot next to the Red, but before the words could fully form, the girl realized she could see something actually moving. "Mike...?" she whispered, taking a cautious step back as very suddenly, something had reached out and literally smacked Mike across the face so hard that the next thing Kasiya knew, he was on the ground. "I-I don't know," she stammered, all the hair on the back of her neck standing on end as she was utterly certain she was starting to see Mike's ghosts...

...that is, until Mike's little Flamethrower parted the mists, revealing a rather cheeky-looking Shuppet. False alarm, guess I'm not going crazy after all, the blonde thought, her fear suddenly replaced by annoyance. Aside from a few Ghost-types she knew quite well (a certain Misdreavus named Anna and a Gengar named Ebony, to name a few), she had little to no love for the spooks in general, particularly after a gang of them jumped her after the Gala. The girl backed up a few steps, placing her hands on her hips. "Maybe it doesn't like your choice in clothing?" she asked, unable to hold back a giggle.

Feeling a little better now that he knew his trainer was steady, Sigilyph backed off a bit, his single eye still leveled at the newcomer. The Psychic-type was well aware of the fact that this man was hiding something, but for the most part, he didn't sense any malicious or otherwise bad thoughts from him. "Oh, that's Sigilyph," Jaeshan said, giving a bit of a nod, one hand still holding the side of his head as the remainder of his wooziness began to fade. "I honestly don't know that much about him myself, but he's a good Pokemon." Sigilyph droned, quietly pleased by his trainer's praise. "I think I'm good now, buddy. Return for now, okay?"

The Avianoid Pokemon didn't give any sort of protest as Jaeshan returned him to his Pokeball, and he looked back at Kevin. Come to think of it, he was pretty hungry, and thirsty, too. He'd definitely had enough of this stupid forest for now. "Okay, let's head back to Eterna, then," he said, giving a nod. "I was there before, but I came back out here for some special training. I was going to challenge the Eterna Gym, but I don't think we're quite ready yet, especially after wasting all this time today." He had the feeling that there was a lot more to this Kevin guy than he was letting on, but he didn't pry. Everyone had their reasons for keeping things to themselves, and even Jaeshan himself didn't quite feel like explaining over and over again how he couldn't even remember his own name or birthday - no, scratch that first part, he could recall his first name. He smiled as he thought of Madison, silently thanking her for the little mental push, if it had even been her. "So, what are you supposed to be, Kevin? Some kind of detective or private eye or something?" he asked as they headed away from the Chateau and back out to the forest.

"But..." Mike frowned even harder at Kasiya's joking suggestion. "I'm not a sports car anymore!" He whined, making the Shuppet only laugh more as it floated. "No one asked you."

A thought occurs. spoke up a nearby phantom, which rose from the ground beside him.

"Oh, by all means."

You're trying to get back on the path to being a trainer correct? The boy nodded. Trainers capture Pokemon, and here you have a perfect opportunity before you.

"And Pumpkin could use a ghost friend to keep him company!" Mike added, turning to face the Shuppet, now sporting a crooked grin. It stopped laughing, suddenly feeling its target was much less afraid and anxious than he was moments ago. "It's settled." Mike said with a dark chuckle. "You're coming with me." What fortune he just purchased some Pokeballs, huh? "You're up, Vesuvius! Fire Spin!" In a flash of light, the Torkoal was released. He looked around to get a bearing on his surroundings, wondering where exactly he was that would have so much fog. With as much of a shrug as the turtle could manage, he opened his mouth and spat a fireball at the ground beneath the Shuppet. It hit the ground with a bang, and erupted into a spiraling inferno that not only cleared out a good deal of the fog, but trapped the ghost inside.

Quite pleased with the result of his attack, Vesuvius grinned a dopey grin, but it was soon wiped off of his face quite literally when his own shadow punched him in the face. Unaware as to the workings of tricky ghosts (one might say he was slow), the Torkoal began stomping the ground, hoping to teach his suddenly rebellious shadow a lesson.

Knowing the Shuppet wasn't going anywhere anytime soon, Mike took the appropriate amount of time to laugh at his silly little turtle.

The blonde shrugged in reply. "Who knew Ghost-types were such critics?" she said, still giggling. She eyed the little Shuppet carefully. Sure, it looked all cute and playful, but those little things were nasty when they wanted to be. She was startled out of her thoughts as Mike announced that he was going to capture the Shuppet, and Kasiya forced a smile. "Oh, how wonderful." At the very least, she had to admire his attempts to get back to normal trainer-type things.

It was hard not to smile at the sight of Mike's Torkoal, however, as she was strongly reminded of Flannery's and the gym battle that had gone with it. Mount Pyre seemed to have the recurring theme of scaring the girl out of her little reveries as something very suddenly and very sharply tugged at her hair. The blonde let out a little yelp and spun around, finding herself face-to-face with a floating skull. She gave another cry and jumped back, heart still racing even when she came to realize it was a Duskull. "Oh! Youuuuu!" she growled, taking a swing at it out of pure instinct. The Requiem Pokemon just laughed as the girl's fist and part of her arm went right through it and it drifted back, its glowing red eye bouncing back and forth behind its bone mask.

"You are SO not funny!" the girl shrieked, Mike and Vesuvius and the Shuppet all but forgotten. The Duskull didn't agree and vanished, appearing behind her again before it gave her braid another yank. "You're gonna pay for that!" she hollered, wrenching a Pokeball from her belt and practically hurling it to the ground. Her recently-acquired Shinx appeared in a flash of light, yawning and stretching as she took in the situation. Upon spotting the Ghost-type, however, the kitten's ears flattened against her head and she started to growl, turning the tables slightly as her Intimidate ability had a hand at unnerving the Duskull. Kasiya had very nearly demanded the Shinx into a Tackle attack before she remembered that Normal-type moves were no good, and she took a deep breath, attempting to calm herself a little. "Zaira, use Charge," she said, her voice still trembling slightly.

Zaira gave a loud cry and crouched down, her whole body starting to crackle and shimmer as she built up the electrical energy inside her body. Duskull, while initially a little bit put-off by the Shinx, recovered quickly before it suddenly rushed forward, stopping a mere three inches in front of Zaira's face before unleashing a terrifying Astonish. The Shinx received a not-so healthy dose of her own medicine as she was frightened into accidentally discharging her stored electricity into the ground. Kasiya narrowed her eyes at the Duskull.

Oh, it was so on.

Mike's attention was taken from his fight when he heard Kasiya yelp, and also because when she had jumped back in fright she had actually slammed into him. "Blarg!" he yelled, stumbling forward a bit before spinning on his foot to right himself. Unsurprisingly, it was another ghost Pokemon giving her trouble. They seldom attacked alone. While Mike's first instinct was to incinerate anything that had the poor judgement to mess with his girlfriend (especially in front of him), he quickly saw that she had the situation under control with her Shinx. Turning back to the flaming maelstrom, he saw a black, vacuous glob shoot out of it. Once again Vesuvius was struck in the face. "Hey! Not the money-maker!" Mike yelled out, ordering for the Torkoal to perform a Flamethrower. He complied quite happily. And why not? Adding more fire always (sometimes) solved all problems.

Aiming for the Fire Spin, Vesuvius loosed a giant stream of fire. The trapped Shuppet within let out a cry of pain, clearly regretting his life (unlife?) choices up until this point. "Only a bit more!" Mike cheered, reaching into his bag for a Pokeball.

"Oh no, not that again!" Sheena practically screeched, causing the redhead across the way to flinch a little from her piercing voice. "Boris, pay no attention to him and use Curse okay?" The Numel gave a short little nod, closing his eyes and doing his best to drown out the soothing melody coming from the Grovyle. He felt himself strengthen significantly as his wacky Simple ability kicked in, at the same time causing him a significant drop in his speed. It didn't matter to Boris, however, as when he did manage to land a hit, he planned to hit like a truck.

The Numel seemed to shake off the effects of Pan's Grasswhistle, much to Keegan and Pan's identical annoyance. Both trainer and Pokemon narrowed their eyes and placed a hand on their hip, each equally aware of the danger of Boris' Flamethrower. Keegan thought for a moment - Numel were part Ground-type as well as Fire, so Grass-type moves should be neutral. He really needed to crack a book once in a while. "Uh. Wanna give your Energy Ball another go?" the redhead asked. Pan looked up at his trainer over his shoulder with a look that clearly said 'why the hell are you asking me?' Remembering well the taste of flames (thanks to his teammate, Eithne, and a certain barbaric and awful Charmeleon that will go unnamed *cough*Nova*cough*), Pan quickly summoned the energy into a compact sphere, finding it easier to do every time he did it. With a grunt, the Grovyle hurled the grassy orb at Boris.

Considering that Boris was about as slow as molasses in January before using Curse, there was virtually no chance he'd be able to dodge. Sheena was well aware of this, as she knew her Pokemon quite well. "Curse, again!" she called, and once again the Numel hunkered down, his strength and defense surging while his already abominable speed took another hit. In the meantime, the Energy Ball had smashed directly into his hump, causing a ripple of pain to shoot through him. The small Pokemon looked up at the Grovyle, its normally dopey expression gone in place of a dark scowl.

It didn't take Damien long to finish his coffee and as he tossed the empty cup into the garbage, he made the executive decision to head down to the battle area and do some training. It wasn't something he went out of his way to do, but losing to Karrigan yesterday had left a bitter taste in his mouth and he wanted to remedy that. He still wasn't overly familiar with the ship's layout, however, and after only about ten minutes, he was quite lost.

Miharu, meanwhile, hadn't made much progress herself since leaving sickbay. As she crept around the lower deck, her actions were more like reactions - like ducking into the shadows at every little noise she'd hear. She was also going out of her way to make her footsteps as quiet as possible, and it didn't take long for her to remove her sandals altogether as they were more of a hindrance than a help. The more time she spent exploring, however, the more her courage started to grow and at one point she even walked past another trainer without squealing and running for cover. This is ridiculous, the small, logical girl scolded herself. Not everyone is out to get me, not everyone is like... him. She would let out a frightened cry as she rounded a corner and very nearly ran into someone - a dark-haired, bespectacled someone by the name of Damien.

Falkner hadn't missed it when Jasper very nearly called his Croconaw Totodile, and he easily surmised that the gator had only recently evolved. That is why many trainers nickname their Pokemon, the Gym Leader thought with a faint smirk, looking on as Jasper gave the command for another Water Gun.

"Evade; Quick Attack," barked the blue-haired trainer, once again brushing his bangs from his eyes. Pidgeotto let out a trill and literally flew into action, becoming a tan-coloured blur as it weaved to and fro to avoid most of Croconaw's Water Gun and its feathers were more than slightly damp as it honed in on the gator.

The noticeable change in Shiro's tone made Riza relax almost immediately, and she found herself looking over at Hayley again, curious as to what the brunette was doing. A part of her really didn't believe that Crenu was okay, but he'd apologized to her, and that alone was enough to make her smile. "It's okay. You don't have to cheer. You don't even have to say a word, just having you there will be enough." She paused, smiling a bit as he asked where she was. That was funny, hadn't she told him at the start of their conversation? Oh well. "I'm in Pewter City," she said, now stopping to admire her reflection in the window. "The gym leader here is called Brock. Apparently he uses rock-types. Anyway, hurry up and get here. I'm going to see if my new friend Hayley would like to join me in some pre-gym training. See you soon, all right?"

Her spirits were significantly lifted as she ended the call, staring somewhat dreamily at her phone before making damned sure it was securely in her pocket as she walked up toward the counter, realizing she still hadn't gotten Selena and Eris healed yet. The nurse greeted her again and she smiled. "Sorry about that," she said, placing the two poke balls on the counter. "Would you mind healing my Quilava and Snivy?"

"Of course, it shouldn't take very long at all," the nurse replied, taking the two Pokemon for a quick round of treatment. The raven haired girl sighed, leaning back against the counter and closing her eyes. Having resolved things with Shiro had taken a lot off her mind.

With her party of Pokemon settled in, Katie took a menu and began to look through it, pleased to see that they had a wide selection of Pokemon food for all types of Pokemon. She hadn't even picked out anything for herself by the time the nice Milk Maid from before was there. "Hello!" she said cheerfully, smiling at all of the Pokemon. "My name is Autumn! What can I get for you today?"

It took a bit of time but eventually Katie was able to get her order placed, and not long after that she and her crew were enjoying their respective meals. Katie had even ordered a triple thick chocolate milkshake made with fresh MooMoo Milk. Once they were all finished, Katie paid the bill and recalled her party before heading back outside. "Hey wait a minute!" a voice called after her, and Katie turned to see Autumn running after her.

The orange haired girl stopped, allowing the other girl to catch up to her. "Hey, what's up?" Katie asked curiously.

"Your Pokemon all looked so strong. I'm on my break now and I was wondering if you wanted to battle with me? Part of a Milk Maid's job is to be a tough trainer because sometimes customers want to battle, but I need more experience. What do you say?"

Katie couldn't help but smile a bit, and she nodded. "Okay, sure! How many Pokemon?" she asked, already feeling the excitement beginning to build.
