LT took notice of both academy students as they walked in the room and bowed. LT's blood red eyes pierced upon them almost lazily, "Welcome to you both, I'm going to ask Damien to step out for a couple of minutes due to the first part of the exam can be rather personal." LT flipped through the organized stack of folders with all of the academy students files contained in that stack. As he found Masaki's and flipped it open with his thumb he expected the older one to be outside by this time. "Masaki, it's ok, your not interrupting anything, Sparrow is already finished. Now, first things first." The Jonin's eyes fell to the folder before him and he clicked his pen once more. "Why do you want to become a Ninja, Masaki?"

Masaki was startled by the question. Why did he want to become a ninja?that seemed like a trick question. perhaps the obvious answer wasn't good enough? or maybe Masaki wanted to be a ninja for the wrong reasons? "to become stronger and, in turn, make Kirigakure and then the world stronger." maybe it is too simple?

LT scribbled down what Masaki was saying when the pen suddenly stopped. "Are you sure that is it?" LT hinted as his eyes lifted from the papers in from of him. With one hand LT checked to see if he had anymore coffee in hi travel mug but alas it was hopeless.

Masaki sighed. "I figured you would want more than that, but I'm sorry to say that's all I've got." There wasn't any way he could explain it that would be any clearer. he wasn't in it to make his country a safer place. He was merely in it to make it stronger.

And on the stool was a single cup of water that the student would use for his jutsu. "Very well, I want you to first freeze and then boil the water in that glass in front of you. After that, thin it out and read the inverted phrase on the board behind you using the water mirror technique. Finally, create a water clone and demonstrate your proficiency in basic taijutsu. Finally, eliminate it with whatever means you'd like. Begin when you are ready."

Masaki looked at the glass of water and performed the basic seals for Water manipulation and tapped into his suiton chakra to complete the necessary tasks. "mizu soujuu" he said calmly, and then reached over to pick up the glass of water. He tipped it over slowly, and the water fell out and hit the seat with an audible thunk, still holding the shape of the glass that once held it. He poked at it, to prove that it was indeed solid but his finger stopped short when the water in the middle of the ice melted and began to boil. He performed a new set of handseals, in a greater hurrt this time, and the water thinned out on the seat, taking on a reflective quality. He leaned over and looked into the mirror. "tsim fo nomeD" he read aloud. "Demon of the mist?"

Masaki stepped back from the water, and performed yet another set of handseals before declaring "Mizu bunshin" a bunshin seemed to materialize from the puddle, though the glass hadn't held enough water so most of the water was drawn from the air instead. The bunshin launched himself at Masaki, attempting to punch him. Masaki side-stepped the bunshin and delivered a sharp blow to it's ribcage. It was certainly not a killing blow, but it would certainly hurt. The bunshin burst into a puddle once more. Masaki then continued to draw the water back into the cup before taking a nice swig. "I was getting a little thirsty..." he said with a satisfied smile, before turning back to the kage. "Was that good?" he asked curiously.

He stood against the wall opposite the door with his arms folded, wondering what was going on inside. He hoped it wouldn't be too difficult (( ))

She had done more than well enough in her exam, he enjoyed her ingenuity in creating multiple separate mirrored surfaces instead of just one large one. It seemed she had managed to impress Luo on a small level and he took note to track her down and teach her her clan's jutsu. Jotting some notes on her, Masaki walked into the room, straining his introduction in a sad attempt to be polite. Not really paying attention though, Luo didn't get the chance to correct the boy as Tares continued with the boy's exam.
Masaki was...interesting to say the least in Luo's opinion. He used a completely different method for presenting the water manipulation technique to Luo, something that Luo admired relatively. It was always good to have people who thought outside the box and on a different level than everyone else. It was that sort of individuality Luo looked for quite often in academy students. Nodding as Masaki read the phrase backwards and forwards, he continued to write a few things down about Masaki's composure and chakra control, as well as his chakra molding.
Nodding at Masaki, Luo closed his folder and tossed one of the many mist headbands in front of him to the boy to catch. "Not bad at all Masaki. Overall you get an 80 out of one-hundred. You probably could have demonstrated a bit more of your capabilities in open handed combat than a simple blow to the ribcage, but I won't penalize you too much for being efficient. Well congratulations Masaki of the mist, you are now a full fledged genin. I suggest you spend the next few days studying. I hate to say it, but chunnin exams are fast approaching. Normally I'd force you to wait, but given your participation in the zombie mission as an academy student, I'd say you were ready before you got the headband. Although you are a Kiri-nin afterall so I can't expect any less." With a light smile, Luo nodded towards him in approval. Perhaps now the boy would take himself and everything else more seriously.

Masaki grabbed his headband with a smile and then managed another bow before walking out of the room. sitting down with a sigh, Masaki smiled at Da-what was his name? Da old man. The manners where without a doubt the hardest part of the exam. His left hand reached in to his left pocket, as his right reached into the right. Both came out almost simultaneously, the left holding a rock, and the left holding a small bottle of water. He held them out in front of him, feeling his chakra nature intermingle with the two products. He just couldn't figure out how to combine them, so he would become as familiar with the two elements as possible.
((edit: since he told Damien the first part was private, It seems like there might be more to the test. So I'll have Masaki stay close for a bit. He'll need training afterwars anyways.))

He thought quivering a little. He pushed the door open and walked in, slowly drawing his staff. He interlocked his fingers and held the expendable weapon with the thumbs of both hand. He bowed to them both before returning to standing position and awaiting instruction. (( I believe the private thing was referring to the 'why do you want to be a ninja' part ))

LT finished writing the file for the previous student and closed it, he looked up only briefly to watch and Damien entered the room and bow. LT returned with a nodded before continuing, "Welcome Damien Oweno," LT stated as he tossed a folder onto a stack of completed exams. He pulled Damiens out of another stack and flipped it open, already writing down some small notes on composer, appearance of self and character. "First things first, why would you want to chose to become a shinobi?"

It was unexpected, but it wasn't hard for him to answer in the slightest. "It was actually not something I intended to do. I wanted to be a fisherman. Stay on the water with my father. He died in a storm, because when I tried to save him, I wasn't strong enough. He left me this weapon" he said, brandishing the water filled, retracted staff in his hand. "He also left me a mission to find and conquer something called a Sanbi. The way I see it, if I ever wish to succeed in this mission, I must be as strong as possible. I wish to be a ninja so I can learn what strength really is. My father said this quest would help to show me." He spoke like he'd be going over that entire thing in his head multiple times, and truth be told, he had. (( ))
