((I thought Amaroq only met Hroik when you first started the RP? How is there a family legend about him?))

[May not be the first instance of his family befriending a wolf.]

Ranu frowned from his horse, dismounting. The horse followed silently and looked around with a confussed look. Ranu ignored this, cupping his hands and letting out a loud whistle like an owls hoot. It was a sign the Rangers had been taught by the elves. It meant either to begin an attack, or that friends were nearby, depending on the lengh of the hoot. This had been the short 'friend' hoot. Ranu looked around once then repeated it, walking slowly down the track.

Elrothiel turned round sharply at the sound, recognising it instantly. The pitch sounded slightly strange compared to the elves' own, but she realised at least one of the humans had to be a ranger. Shouldering her bow again, she returned the call, quietly but loud enough to carry the short distance without being overheard by anyone much further away.

(Hrorik's all but extinct tribe treats wolves at the very least great warriors. At the most, almost compared to as Gods, but not actual gods. They have met wolves that looked like Amaroq in the distant past and so a legend was born)
Amaroq barely heard the call, but he still could tell that it was that of a female elf. Instead of howling like he did when he found the fresh trail he quietly stalked his way downriver to where he thought the call had come from. "Ahh, look at what Amaroq is doing! He must have heard the elf and pinpointed her location," Hrorik spoke quietly, but excitedly.

Elrothiel...She thought excitedly too. Her stallion was getting pancey himself. Smiling, she followed the sound of the very alike sounding owl hoot.

Elrothiel stood warily in the middle of the river, stroking Sol's nose gently as she waited. She stood straight, refusing to allow her physical discomfort and pain to show, either in her stance or her face, before strangers. It was true that she had put the bow away, but it was within easy reach and she was confident she could shoot in time if threatened. She brushed her hair out of her eyes and folded her arms calmly, as if she had all the time in the world.

In reply, Ranu drew one of his black feathered arrows. He wondered if the elf would remember his calling card. Drawing the arrow back, he leant back and muttered tot he arrow, which begun to glow faintly. As he released the string, the arrow flew into the air, clearing the trees then popping in a black flash. He pointed it away from the answering hoot so any perusers headed for under the smoking black smoke while Ranu sprinted through the trees, leaping fallen logs and the like while Sailas followed. He hooted again to check he was on course, his elven cloak swishing as he ran, melting perfectly witht he woodland behind him.

Elrothiel smiled as the black smoke filled the air. Ranu Blackheart. She realised as the wary expression gave way to relief. She returned the call again as she waited, distinguishing his familiar tread from the others that she didn't know. She smiled slightly, waiting for him to appear.

Nonnah Was very excited, seeing a long lost friend. She wondered if Ranu had a conection more than her own with him. Maybe like...Love? No, Ranu is a Free-lancer, I thought. She thought. Her horse was obidient, although the excitment was easy to sense through the riens, he knew when to and not to act.

Ranu slid calmly through the overgrowth, pausing to look at the elf as he moved his hands in the elvish salute. "My lady," he said formally, nodding his head respectfully as he approached slowly, eyes sweeping over her.

Amaroq showed himself after Ranu had approached the lady elf and came up to Elrothiel and leaned backward, raising his hauches, and bending his head downward. Hrorik came not too much after Amaroq did and explained what he was doing,"He's bowing to ya lady. That's a sign of respect from a wolf, so could ya please kindly reply with a curtsy? Otherwise, he might take you for a rogue elf, I think."

Nonnah hoped off her horse and aproched Elrtothiel slowly. Reflecting Ranu's greeting, she thought, She looks just like I remember. Does she remember me at all? She turned to Hrorik and said with a joshing note, "How come I never got a respect bow from this lump of fur?" She eyed Amaroq playfully.

"Ranu." She said softly, returning the salute with a weary smile. "You made it back then." She glanced back at his companions and the wolf, wondering where he'd found them as she added a greeting encompassing them as well. Sol snorted at the sight of the wolf and Elrothiel turned to him, whispering in her own language to calm him, before turning back to the others.

Ranu's pose remained defensive as he spoke, his eyes never staying still as he looked around. "Thats right. I'd have been faster but I had strings." He spared a quick two second glance at Nonnah.

Nonnah turned to Ranu, glared, but said nothing. No longer awaiting for a reply from Hrorik, Nonnah looked at the ground, kicking it lightly as if she understood and was guilty. Of course, she hadn't really felt like that, she just was waiting for some sort of reconization. Her mustang dozed and swayed slightly.
