So far, he was able to keep his glider on course, though the changing air currents weren't making it particularly easy for him. Imuiel grit his teeth and bore it, reasoning that the blessing at the end would be more than worth it this time.

The winds weren't letting up, and things were looking more grim than they had either of the instances Imuiel had tried this flight. His glider was getting closer and closer to the fog, and he wasn't sure he liked the thought of that...

Something went wrong this time, and amidst a ceaseless babble of voices and a cold feeling, his glider sank into the fog.
He sat up quickly, taking a shallow breath and looking around hurriedly. He was...back at the start? That hadn't happened before. Rubbing the spot between his lenses, Imuiel got up, moving to launch another glider. This one went off without any problems as well, and soon, he was flying again, resolving not to...do whatever he'd done wrong a second time.

Ixb clung tightly for the drafts he knew were coming. His glider bobbled dangerously in the air but he made solid progress.

Oh, joy of joys. There was that anger--no, he wasn't a trespasser! This was what he had to do! The voice shouted and shouted, roaring hatred at him for daring to defile this journey with his presence. Even though he ignored it for the most part, Imuiel couldn't help but feel somewhat shaken.

Ixb once more found himself on the island at the end of the road. It was his favorite part. The avian totems were interesting and of course he got to fly there. It was pretty amazing.
He stepped to the blessings and took his own.

As if just to spite him, the angry voice rose up again, smothering any sense of happiness with a pervasive dread. Just what he'd needed before entering the last leg of his flight.

The anger's outrage seemed to linger in the air, and Imuiel fidgeted a little on his glider, doing his best to shake off the sensation. It wouldn't do to have that hanging over him while he tried this again, after all.
