The first wave was not to bad, but it seemed the further they strayed towards the portal site the harder the waves wanted to push them back out to sea. The current was strong, and the waves stung at her face and made her vision blurry. She dare not even open her mouth to speak, only to suck in gulps of air between wave rushes.
She paused for a brief second when some of the water rushed her, swallowing a gulp of the vile liquid the salt burned at her throat. Recovering as quickly as possible she held on to the piece of driftwood and pushed as hard as she could, her legs kicking up water behind them.
Truly she hoped she knew what she was doing, too. What she DID know though was she was a moon through and through, and she would not leave someone behind.

Faster, they needed to go faster. The waves were pounding against them now, even enough for her feat shield to start to strain due to it. Who thought the elements were this rough against everything, she had a new found respect for those who swam in the sea often.
Pushing just that last few feet was tough, the raft with the portal was bobbing around and making it difficult to reach. Stopping, she grabbed the other woman around her waist (Sorry stormy) and hoisted her as best she could on to the floating portal. Even so, the other woman would need to find the energy to pull herself up the rest of the way. Ceres had no leverage out here in the deep blue sea.

It looked as if everyone was doing okay. Candace finally started to swim for the portal, bobbing and drifting with the waves.

Like waves themselves, her thoughts went in and out, and her vision flickered. Sometimes it was completely dark, other times horribly bright, but the motion was constant and fueled her nausea. Stormy wanted to puke and almost did, but her survival instinct overcame her stomach's urges and allowed nothing more than to cough out salt water as much as it came in. Maybe she was breathing in more water than she was air at this point, who knew?
Stormy had the thought to thank her rescuer, but all her energy was expended clinging to the portal as tightly as she had the drift wood, willing herself to go that last few inches to safety. God, but she felt cold, cold and wet and slowly numb from the feet up. Just had to . . . push a little bit more . . . She could barely see because her hair was plastered to her face and she dared not lift an arm to get it off lest the water take her again.
This reminded her, vaguely, of how hard it sometimes was to yank herself out of the pool by the ladder. Like the water was reluctant to let anyone go.kurotomato hi going to work go be a hero

She was doing her best to keep an eye out for anyone else. Where was Dakota? Candace coughed up disgusting salt water and pushed her hair out of her face as she continued toward the portal. Caelius couldn't have waited for them to be on rafts or at a pier before he decided to destroy the ship?

It didn't take long after him lying on the floor for the ceiling to start caving in as the ship started to dissipate around them. One moment he could still feel the hard boards under his back the next minute the floor gave away and he plunged down his eyes still watching as the death lead grabbed the bright red heart from the mass of insanity. <******** it was cold, the water sent a shock through his body as he still clung to the spear as he started to sink. For once he wished for some sort of weapon that actually stayed on his body like gloves as he tried to swim to the surface. Managing to gasp a breath of air he looked for something to cling to, some sort of floating debris that hadn't disappeared. Cling to it he watched the first wave curl over head.

He barely made it through the last wave, the water filling his nose as he started to slip from the debris. A few minutes, or just seconds floated by and finally he popped up along the surface his weapon glowing among the runic markings. Another wave came crashing over him tearing the debris from his hands, bubbles floated as he tried to gasp for air under the water. He started to sink.

Portal. Portal. Candace gave a cheer as she reached it, trudging through the portal without even a moments hesitation. She was so cold. She wanted to get home, make sure everyone she loved was okay, and then sleep for at least a month.

Lots of s**t happened with bugs and Tori really hated bugs because of those damed Horsemen. Well now with the ship gone and now they had to swim to the safety of the portal that Tori was glad that had appeared were they could get back to the island.
While swimming to the portal she spotted Matt start to sink because she could see his weapon glowing going down. Quickly diving for Matt before he got too far down and resurfaced wiith Matt in tow. Making sure to keep his head above the water the best that she could while swimming for the portal.

Really. Really. They were doing this.
Okay. Fine.
It was a relief when Kouki's weight vanished from around her waist, to re-form in his much smaller, much lighter totem form around her wrist. Madison stroked hard, making for the portal; she hesitated a moment, noticing someone struggling under the waves, but saw another Hunter making for the figure and nodded. Time to go, then. She focused on powering through the waves herself.
At least there wasn't much left of her evening gown at this point...

Even though Melvin and Rin had swam before, that had been at the beach without any real waves. This was flat out in the middle of the ocean, and treading water was a lot different then getting to a portal before exhaustion set in.
After swimming around, he found Rin, but she seemed to be struggling just to stay afloat. Swimming to her, he wrapped one arm about her waist. "I got ya." He told her, and started to head to the portal.

The first wave waved over them both, soaking their hair, the cold biting straight into the bones. He already felt himself shivering, but kept pressing through the water to the portal.
"Almost there." He told her, wanting away from the spider ship and back home.

Alright this was a little harder that Tori had thought swimming, fighting the waves with Matt in tote and she did believe that he might be out. Tori had been glad that she did keep up her running but she was totally going to do more training in general. But the were almost to the portal.

With one last stroke, he made it to the portal with Rin. Out of breath and exhausted from too many elements, he heaved Rin into the portal. "I'm right behind you." He told her, glancing one last time at the ocean before going through the portal.

Man that last hit harder than the last two had, Tori was glad to see the portal in view. With no hesitation what so ever Tori swam the both of them thought the portal to the safety of the island. Hp: 31/50 Wave: 3 CARRYING MATT [Exiting with Matt]
