Amelia rolled over as she was dropped to the ground, the breath knocked from her. She sensed Kasumi land next to her and something else come hurtling towards them. She moved her hands and a wall of earth protected them from the knives thrown at them. "Thanks for the assist," Amelia said as her sight came back. Nala was close by, looking at the wound on Kasumi's shoulder. Cassandra hurried over to the two fallen woman while the ninjas were held back by Merrick. "Let me see," she said as she dropped to Kasumi's side. She pulled the Kunai from Kasumi's shoulder, feeling the poison that was on it. She had always been good at healing and sensing such things. "Stay still for a moment." She placed her hand over the wound and concentrated, pulling the poison from her friend. She hadn't revealed to any of the others that she could do such a thing, although she was sure Kasumi must have figured it out at some point. Kasumi was easily their strongest fighter and they needed her well. Cassandra pulled the poison from the woman and into herself. She shuddered, slumping back as her body fought the poison. Amelia was surprised at what Cassandra was doing. Not a lot of people could heal others that way and keep themselves sane. She knew that Cassandra's father had that ability. It must have passed from him to her. "Lorcan, go help them!" Carolyn said as she motioned to Kasumi, Amelia and Cassandra. Merrick had managed to disperse a lot of the ninjas but a few got past him. She flung her hands out, light blinding the ninjas as they tried to get at the other three women.

Kasumi gritted her teeth as she felt the paralytic's effects recede before she focused, using a old Iryō-nin technique she knew. She focused, pressing her glowing palms to Cassandra's skin before pulling back slowly with one hand, forcing the poison from her pores; she knew it would manifest as intense itching, but would fade as she drew the poison out.

Lynx pushed off fluidly, landing not too far from Cassandra as she fired off two rapid Hakke Kūshō blasts that sent the disabled ninjas onto their backs, either fighting to rise again, or twitching as they slowly died from shattered ribs.

Lorcán jerked his soul weapon's blade out and pushed off, landing next to Lynx, mildly interested in what Kasumi was doing, apparently significantly weakening the poison's effects on Cassandra as she seemed to draw an odd yellowish brown liquid out. He could see Cassandra panting as he realized that the poison was almost completely nullified, if not weakened to the point where it wouldn't dull Cassandra's reflexes too heavily.

Merrick caught one of the ninjas and leaned backwards sharply, driving the back of his head and neck hard into the ground in a ruthless German suplex that snapped the man's neck. "Go after my family will you?" Merrick barked as his tails emerged, two capturing a ninja by the legs before hurling him high into the sky as another impaled one man through the upper abdomen from behind.

Naruto grimaced, seeing his nephew's reaction, though his choice of words was interesting; it seemed he looked at Cassandra and Amelia as family in addition to his own mother. Can't say I blame him... I reacted the same way when Danzō tried to kill my mother after I got her back here after he'd lied that I had 'died with my father due to the so-called demon's chakra' and caused her to flee the village, he thought.

Cassandra looked up at Kasumi and smiled, giving her a nod. "Thanks," she said softly as she shook her head. She could feel the itching begin, but at least the poison was coming out faster than it normally would have. She knew she would still be a little sluggish, but not was much as she would have been working the poison out on her own. Several ninjas seemed rooted to their spot. Constance was concentrated on them and as her eyes narrowed they moved jerkily towards their comrades and began to attack. She was controlling their movements, forcing them to attack those on their own side. "They seem to keep getting stronger," Merida said as she went to Lorcan's side. Her hands were still hot from the fire that she had created. Carolyn backed up so that she was near the others. She just watched Merrick and Constance with amazement. They were both stronger than any of them could have anticipated.

Kasumi cocked her head, mildly amused. "Hey, we all have our skills; besides, helping each other and learning from each other is only going to make us stronger," she said with a slight smirk.

Lynx pushed off, somersaulting twice. "It seems the girl is using a rough form of the Shinranshin no Jutsu, which seems effective enough," she observed.

Lorcán blinked at Merrick's reaction; it was obvious he protected his own just like Kasumi and Naruto did, though he was less subtle about it.

Merrick hurled the impaled ninja at three of his comrades, pinning them down so they couldn't flee Constance's 'attack'.

Naruto exhaled as three of the ninjas tried to flee, apparently to report what had happened and their abilities. To his surprise, however, the very tree he'd damaged earlier stopped them... by falling on top of them. He coughed as the dust blasted past them before starting to settle.

Cassandra nodded as she stood up slowly, swaying just a little bit. She held on lightly to Lorcan's arm to get her bearings and after the dizziness subsided she let go. "It's always disorienting to do that," she said with a small shrug. It didn't take long to get rid of the ninjas and when Constance was done she reverted back to her human form. She stumbled and fell to her knees, breathing heavily. "That was...strange," she said softly as she shook her head. She looked over as the tree fell over and smashed three of the ninjas. She laughed a little. "Wonder who sent them," Carolyn muttered as she moved by Kasumi's side. She ran her hand through her hair. Obviously somebody didn't like that they were here.

Kasumi was panting slightly from exertion due to the suppression seal. "I don't know, but they lost a lot of soldiers, regardless... even if they were skilled," she said as she reached for the seal on her lower back, wincing slightly as the wound in her shoulder protested the movement before she placed one hand against it and pushed, feeling the joint slide back where it belonged.

Lynx tilted her head slightly before she shifted her weight. "I think we know more than enough about your skills," she said with a faint smile. "Feel free to use the hot springs, restaurants, and various other areas as you please," she said with a faint smirk.

Lorcán chuckled. "I know the feeling. I have to consciously block out the senses of any clones I create since I seem to somehow be able to share their sight, which gets really disorienting," he said with a gentle hug. He watched as Lynx took her leave and disappeared in a gust of dust before he shrugged.

Merrick was breathing hard, but didn't really show it. "I guess they forgot where they were from having their attention crushed along with their egos," he sighed.

Naruto exhaled as he walked, then stumbled near Merida. The movement revealed a deep gash that went from his right collarbone almost to his upper abdomen across his sternum that bled freely.

Cassandra smiled and hugged Lorcan back. Just being near him was steadying her. Her head snapped around when she heard Merida's shout of alarm. "Hopefully they stay away for a while," Constance said as she stood up slowly and watched Lynx disappear. She turned when she heard Merida's shout. Merida was watching the two younger people of their group when Naruto stumbled near her. Out of reflex she turned and gripped his arm to keep him from falling. It was then that she saw the large, deep gash that went from his right collarbone to upper abdomen. His blood flowed freely from the wound. "Guys Naruto's hurt!"Cassandra hurried over to Merida's and Naruto's side. "Holy crap..." she muttered as she saw the wound.

Kasumi grimaced as she rose, stumbling slightly because of the suppression seal blocking her natural strength and agility. "Bakayaro, nii-chan," she mumbled, dizzy from the seal draining her strength, unaware it was glowing a faint crimson as it did so where it stuck on her lower-mid back.

Lorcán blinked as he did the same as he saw Naruto's injury. "Unfortunately I don't know how to heal a wound that size," he said quietly.

Merrick frowned as he half turned upon Merida's shout. he sighed.

Naruto had one hand over the wound, wincing. Something's stopping the natural healing factor, but what? he thought.

Kaosujin Ryu got this idea for her healing ability from a book I am reading Carolyn turned to Kasumi, placing a hand on the other woman's arm. She could tell that she was dizzy and not at full strength. "Kasumi, stop moving for a moment. Let me see if I can't get this thing off of you." She went around to Kasumi's back to look at the seal. "I can try," Cassandra said softly as she looked at Merida and Lorcan. "This is going to take some time and a lot of energy." She took a hold of Naruto's arm and made him to sit down. "Naruto...you're going to feel something foreign inside of you. Don't pull away, okay? I am only going to heal you." She took a deep breath and placed her hands near his wound. Her eyes closed, and her body went still. What looked like a fine mist seeped from her body and went into Naruto's. Slowly she began to find the problems and fixing them one by one. Merida looked at Cassandra with amazement. She was so still, so cold. It was as if she had left her body. And that was when she saw the fine mist moving into Naruto's body. "No way," she murmured softly. She had heard talk of some people being able to leave their bodies and go into someone else, healing them.

Alede OOC - It reminds me of the Carpathian method of healing (Dark Series by Christine Feehan, good series if you're into romance). Kasumi chuckled slightly, the jacket slipping from her shoulder to leave her with only the fishnet shirt and her bra hiding her modesty, though technically she didn't really care who saw her body.

Lorcán cocked his head in surprise, sensing what Cassandra was doing and like Merida, had heard of the ability to heal others through a form of astral projection.

Merrick paused, shifting as he heard a creak before an arrow with a silver head punctured through his upper chest directly above his heart. He could feel, though the pain was extreme, that his would be assassin had missed his heart.

Naruto was doing his best to relax as he felt Cassandra's chakra-chi blending with his own.

Kaosujin Ryu LMAO...that is what I am reading right now! I am on "Dark Demon" Carolyn concentrated on the seal, studying it for several moments. She muttered underneath her breath and finally it fell off. She smiled widely. "Well I am glad I was able to get that off." She spun around quickly when she heard Constance's howl of rage. She had never heard such a thing. Cassandra pulled back Naruto, letting out a shuddering breath. Her energy had depleted greatly because of the in depth healing she had done. "I think...you should be good now." She looked up when she heard Constance yell in rage. Constance spun around when she heard the creaking sound. Before she realized what was happening an arrow was sticking out of Merrick's chest, just missing his heart. She howled with anger as she looked around, trying to see where the arrow had come from.

Alede OOC - I'm familiar with the series, and I've read the one you're reading; I've read from Dark Symphony (#10 in the series) all the way through to the most recent one as well as Dark Dreams. We can do a roleplay based in that if you want, and I have the idea that Cassandra could be like 1/4 Carpathian, enough for the strength, reflexes, magic, and psychic talents, but not enough for the bloodlust. Kasumi sighed in relief as she felt her strength return swiftly before she jumped at Constance's howl of fury.

Merrick was on one knee, his eyes half closed as his hand rose slowly to the arrowhead before he snapped it off with a trembling hand.

Naruto was almost asleep, not even realizing he had fallen into a meditative state while Cassandra healed him.

Kaosujin Ryu alright sounds good to me...that'll make Constance a bit Carpathian as well Constance dropped to Merrick's side, her hands trembling. "Oh Merrick," she whispered softly. She didn't care about anything else. All she cared about was that Merrick would be okay. She concentrated fully on him. Cassandra looked up when she heard Constance. "Lorcan, help me to them," she said softly as she tried to get to her feet. She had to try to heal the wound, or help Constance to do it. "Cassandra you can barely walk, how do you expect to heal Merrick properly?" Merida asked softly. "Not me...her," Cassandra said as she nodded to Constance. "We have the same blood. She should be able to access the ability."

Kasumi cocked her head as her son snapped off the arrowhead; she could tell it was an armor-puncher arrow, commonly used in the Scottish Highlands to take down knights.

Lorcán half lifted her, helping her walk. "Do you think that there is a way to accelerate the healing without causing the one doing the healing to be well..." he murmured to her, fairly sure she'd grasp his question; he wanted to know if there was a way to heal someone without having the healer incapacitated afterward.

Merrick's eyes slowly opened, revealing them to be an unusual swirling navy-teal. His breathing was in short quick pants.

"I don't know," Cassandra said softly as Lorcan helped her over to Merrick and Constance. "It's always been like this. It's energy that we use to heal. All I need is some rest and food, then I will be good." When they reached Merrick and Constance she let go of Lorcan and dropped to their sides. "Constance, listen to me," she said softly, making the younger girl to look at her. "I am going to teach you how to heal Merrick as I have healed Naruto. It isn't going to be easy. And you will be weak afterwards. It is the only way to heal quickly and alleviate the pain."
"I don't know if I can," Constance said softly as she looked at Cassandra. She had seen what the elder witch had done, and she had read about it, but there was no way she could do it. "You can," Cassandra said with a nod as she took the young woman's hand. "The ability has been passed through the family for generations. I wasn't going to tell you till all of this had passed, but we are family." Cassandra pushed a strand of hair from Constance's face. "Your father was my brother. My memories had been locked away, hidden from even me. It wasn't till recently that somehow my memories were unlocked."Constance looked at her with wide eyes. This was her Aunt before her. A woman she had always admired was actually related to her. "What..what do I need to do?""Place your hands on Merrick," Cassandra said softly. "Close your eyes and concentrate. Picture yourself leaving your body and going into his. Imagine you curling around inside, healing everything that is wrong. I will lend you what strength I can. I will help you. Merrick you will need to relax and allow Constance complete access to help you."Constance nodded as she placed her hands on her mate. She closed her eyes and breathed deeply, concentrating as Cassandra had told her to. Soon enough she felt herself leave her body and go into Merrick's. She could hear Cassandra encouraging her, telling her exactly what to do. Merida looked between the three of them, her eyes wide. She backed up by Lorcan's side to give the two room to heal Merrick. "I never...I never would have thought they were related," Merida said softly as she spoke to Lorcan.
