After a good half hour of relaxing on the bed in his duplex, Anatoli decided that it would be a good idea to get out of the house and go for a walk around. He figured a pleasant visit with one of the women his cousin had pointed him to would help him unwind from a day of being stuck on planes and careless statements about the ethics of human experimentation.
It's sometime in the late evening and the sun is starting to set. Earlier in the day Anatoli had collected a small bundle of flowers from the edge of the jungle, and now he was ready to pay a visit to duplex 30. He made sure to dress quite nicely, with a clean shirt and pants as well as his tie and fedora. He climbed up the wooden stairs, straightened himself up, and gave a brisk rapping on the door with a pleasant smile.

Per usual during the daylight hours, the squirrel woman was in her duplex, finding something to occupy herself with. Today it was cleaning and rearranging her furniture. That was a change she could at least control.
The knocking caused her ears to swivel as much as they could, and her tails to come to alert behind her. She announced that she was coming while pushing the couch up against the opposite wall to its original origin.
Wiping her hands on the seat of her now more form fitting boxers (possibly F's pair he had left), which would explain the tightness in addition to her larger rear, Antony made her way to the door. It was opened without a glance through the peep hole. After all, not many people visited her.
Needless to say the man on her stoop caused a brow to raise into her hairline as she evaluated the situation, gaze lingering on the flowers as if they were a bomb poised to explode at any second.

That goofy smile on his face quickly faded when the door opened. A look of flat-out confusion took over instead, and he shrunk away a bit as he stared helplessly at the flowers he held in his hand. They were almost certainly wilting in the thick air of awkwardness surrounding him.
He cleared his throat in attempt to mask his embarassment, still looking away and refusing to make eye contact with this... thing. It didn't look like a Jewish girl at all, or any real girl Anatoli's ever seen. It had tits and stood on two legs, but what of all the fur and tails?
At a loss for anything to say, the man just stood there, practically paralyzed at the sight of the squirrel-woman.
"Ahh... hiya," he croaked out, his eyes still averted. Maybe he was just suffering some hallucinogenic side effects from the pills he took throughout the day for his flights?

"You're new here aren't you?" She said with a sigh, opening the door up further and motioning him inside, "Come in and I'll explain." Hopefully, he'd either run away or actually come inside without too much of a scene.
Once he was inside and sitting, Antony made a 'one moment' motion while holding up an index finger. For a minute or so, she disappeared from sight in her room, but reappeared with only a slightly worn poleroid picture. It was set down flat on the coffee table in front of him before she moved to sit down somewhere not next to him.
"That was taken before I came here last Christmas. Have you had the 'innoculation' yet?" Antony explained bluntly, adding air quotes to the second to last word. As an afterthought of eyeing the picture from her seat, the squirrel cleared her throat and ground her rodent teeth together. "I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't damage that photo..."

"Just came in taday," Anatoli said, debating with himself whether or not to go in before shrugging and ducking in. He eyed the stripper pole warily as he started walking over the couch, taking off his fedora and looking for a place to hang it. "This onna those Ikea coat racks or somethin'?"
After seeing no pegs for his hat, he put it back on and defeatedly headed towards the couch to wait for Antony to come back. He looked at the photo that she had handed him, tilting his head curiously. "Oh, you must be onna those... modification people," he said slowly, raising his brow. "My cousin said ya were Jewish. Th... the Torah says ya can't get tattoos, but I don't even know what tha deal is with this heeah."
"Innoculation? Ya mean like for tha jungle flu or whateva?"

"Not exactly," she replied to his coat rack question with a slight smirk, and nearly choked when she was called Jewish. It took a while for her to stop hacking, face red as she shook her head. "Jewish? Hell no..."
And then it hit her and her eyes narrowed suspiciously, "Who's your cousin?"
Antony stood, unable to stay sitting for long considering the possibilities that had just popped up. "I must be the first islander you've met, lucky me. The labs are turning us into these weird animal/human... Things. With injections..."

"Na offense, but ya didn't look very Jewish ta me," Anatoli shrugged. "So I guess it makes sense. Oh, my cousin? Nick Moreau. He owns tha island, apparently."
Anatoli only looked calm and perhaps even a bit unsurprised when Antony mentioned the human-animal thing. "Huh, izzat so? Injection, huh? Coulda been worse, y'know. Like... gettin' vivisected alive."

Her eyes seemed to burn at the confirmation of her little hunch, tails all making agitated motions behind her as she stared down at him. "You're related to that douchebag?" She barked, grinding her teeth together in a most obnoxious way.
His next comment only seemed to fuel her anger. Poor sap.
"I don't care if it 'coulda been worse'! In fact, what ******** pisses me off the most isn't the fact that I'm getting turned into a GIANT SQUIRREL with an UNGODLY amount of tails. Oh no. What really makes me want to kill the ******** is that because of the cowardly s**t, my father is alone! He thinks I'm -dead-."
She barely made room in her heated words to breathe, all the while pacing around where he was sitting, making vibrant appendage gestures to emphasize her points.
"You think having your spine splitting into seven pieces is all roses and daises? I'm sure you'd love to watch your p***s wither away into some strange tentacle c**k. Or maybe watch it fall off and then grow yourself your very own uterus... Then you could learn the joys of menstration first hand! How does that sound? Huh!?"
Oh yes. Nice Jewish girl indeed.

"Distant relative," he said tersely, holding up a finger, "I didn't ask ta be related to 'im. We got a common ancesta an' that's it, othawise he and I are from two different worlds an' our families have a hist'ry of hatin' each otha. If I had known tha man was a wannabe Docta Mengele, I wouldn'ta agreed ta come here."
He bit down on his inside lip and popped each and every knuckle one-by-one as Antony flew into a rant. He's used to women screaming at him, and this wasn't very different. ...well. Okay, most women didn't yell at him for turning into a squirrel.
Once he found a break to speak, he cleared his throat and started to talk. "At least you're not gettin' it grafted onta ya, with no anasthetics, in surgery -- this ain't much in tha way of progress as far as ethics are concerned, but be glad ya ain't bein' flayed alive on a table an' bein' aware of it all. I ain't sayin' this is right. But at least ya ain't bein' cut open with a rusty knife and havin' pig parts crudely stitched to ya in order ta make ya more human -- or more animal, in yer case. I'm sure ya'd love ta have yer tails sewn onta ya like doll parts while ya' stil conscious, right?"
Folding his arms over his chest, Anatoli shook his head. "Be glad it ain't that. If I'm a human experiment for Little Hitla, I'd ratha it be this way than ... that. If I hadn't left tha journals behind at the schmuck's office, I'd show ya..."
No wonder Moreau seemed so supportive of Nazi experiments.

Her lips on her muzzle were pursed all through out his response, her hands switching between resting on her hips and crossing across her chest. It was obviously taking a lot of effort for her to not be physically violent. Be it to him or one of the inanimate objects laying around.
"Hitler is a whole different ball game than the red headed cooze across the fence," she snapped, somewhat calmer after he had pretty much stated that he hated Moreau. "Even if Hitler had had access to the genetics Carrot Top does now... I'd fathom his croonies would still have done what they did... They were sadistic and didn't care if they lived or died."
"That's what's kept some of the less liked islanders alive here, however... Each one of us is worth millions, maybe more, each. Cuntbucket likes to keep his genetic investments around. We're too valuable. That and ethics aside, this is pretty 'breakthrough' science. I know Lizardman would have loved this..."
Antony sighed as she trailed off once more, pacing having slowed to a stop as she calmed down. "What's your name?" She asked suddenly, hand running through her hair to push it out of her face.

"'Course he was. Ya think I don't know that? It's tha fact he sees otha human beings as rats, is tha thing, so he's pretty much on par with Mengele. He ain't stitchin' no twins togetha ta see if they become conjoined but he's awfully close. I was talkin' to tha guy just now an' he was tellin' me how brilliant he thought tha Nazi experiments were. Tha fact he supports that makes him no betta," Anatoli threw his arm out angrily to emphasize this fact. "Experimentin' on fella humans without their consent is absolutely tha worst thing a person can do ta his own kind, right afta killin' and moidah."
"An' lemme guess, there ain't no good reason for him ta be doin' this other'n just for tha sake a' doin' it? He doesn't happen to have somethin' sayin' the laws to us every day, does he?" He knitted his fingers together and leaned back into the couch as his eyes followed the pacing squirrel.
"My name? Anatoli. Sorry we got off to a bad start." He forced his lips into a smile and reached up to tip his hat.

"He was probably trying to rile you up," she pointed out rather calmly, stepping back to lean against the 'coat rack' while he continued his rant. And she stayed silent up until he asked a few questions and then introduced himself.
The squirrel woman's head shook from side to side, dislodging locks of hair from behind her ears and into her face in the process. "Research, supposedly... But I don't know how they'll get it published. I highly doubt Science will ignore all the forced human testing and not refer them to the police."
Not that it mattered anyways, everyone here would probably be dead by the time they tried to publish anything.
"I'm Antony, and I'm sure that was your dear cousin's goal... Considering I'm definitely not a sweet, innocent Jewish girl..." Antony gave a 'meh' wave of her hand, smirk finding its way onto her muzzle once more, "Or whatever he told you about me."

"That explains tha island -- he's outta tha States, the laws can't do nothin' to him." Anatoli shrugged. Why else would you have a private island in the middle of nowhere? It was hauntingly reminiscent of the old dusty journals he had found in the attic.
"Hah. I guess some things neva change and history repeats itself. I shoulda expected that was what he was tryin' ta do," he frowned. And here he thought there was the slight chance of getting along with his cousin... so much for that. "He just said you was Jewish. And nice. S'about it, really. I'm not sure if the latta is true-- kiddin', kiddin'!"
