Nakara crept up behind his apprentice Shisstal. With a quick hand, he clasped it down upon the lad's shoulder, his whispy voice teasing away.

"Don't like my toy, apprentice? Tired of the tedious games I put you through? I'm sure this one will be quite a blast," he toyed, although he knew there was little more to be said. Changing his form to match Shisstal's, he added, "Anyways, you've been rather by yourself lately. But if you've been putting your time to good use, like the up-and-coming Lady Maliss down in the Vergresso Asteroids, you may be very welcome to enjoy this next battle. The apprentice has become a fledgling knight, it seems. His chain-sabers you could say have been slashing down his obstacles left and right. He goes by the name Fury now, hoping for his Darth title soon enough. But, he'll be cut down to size now, wont' he?"

Nakara hinted that the upcoming battle would be more than the last apprentice was. The last was merely a test of ingenuity, a test of the Don Moch. But this would be a test of skill, and Makashi may or may not win the battle.

"I got you a gift, if you're interested. A hilt, curved for your own liking, to help you practice these last few days more efficiently. May even be useful later on."

~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Don't mind them so much, Aurora. We're just discussing bad habits of ours, so to speak. Do you require any help? We're due for Sullust to refit, rearm and repair. Have any plans for shore leave?" Ritt returned, trying to think of something non-combat oriented.
((My apologies, but why the autohit combo? I was hesitant to even say that I clashed with your saber because I thought it an autohit.))
"First of all," Nova replied as he got up,"you forget that I'm a Dark Jedi first, and then learned how to fly starships. It's called versatility." On this last statement he used Force Pull to retrieve his saber. "Second of all," he said, while pulling out his other saber,"you have only begun to see my power."
As he turned it on both sabers stated,"Finally, these sabers belonged to my former Master, a member of the Jedi Council. If you think you are above me you are GRAVELY mistaken!"
This last statement was immediately followed by a Force Speed enhanced charge, followed by a jump over and behind Sonya. He slashed at her right shoulder with his right arm, while preparing for a counter attack with his left saber.
((Will you two either shut up or take it to rp help? Skuld, shien and shien are two different stances, rarely seen used together. Kendo versus revered dagger play. Dont' confuse the two again. I'll let it slide, simply because My character woud have probably drilled you incessantly. Rob, there has been no auto-hit. If you notice, she's said things like "hoping to hit", which gives you the option to move. Auto hit means you have to take the damage of the hit. So far, there hasn't been anything which says you had to. Read the Carida Academy for rules of fair auto-hits. Although, might I also point out that Form V, which sonya is practicing, is rather good against form IV and Form X, your single and dual-wielding stances, respectively.))
"Just like children," Kawaii muttered to himself. "All talk and fancy skills. Moving around the room and spending so much energy when they can reach their opponent with ease. I hate the large folk."
Koren had just finished another game with his Hangar crew and lost. He laughed and shrugged it off, much to the relief of the soldiers, who had half-hidden looks of terror on their faces.
Relax, boys. I wouldn't kill you... nobody's paying me.
With that, he chuckled and walked away from the men who couldn't tell if he was joking or serious. He made his way up to the lift and took it to the Command Deck.
He loved the Trireme-class cruiser. It pitted two ships against eachother like two Zakkeg fighting. Purely brutal 'survival of the fittest' combat. And the best part was that it was his. He had earned it by capturing the Dry-dock, which was when he landed the job as well.
The lift came to a smooth halt, a testament to how new it was.
Captain on Deck, Salute!
At ease, boys. Do me a favor Lieutenant, send a message to command asking When we will will be shipping out. We have a lot of military power that is going to waste just floating here. If you need me, I'll be just a Comm call away.
Koren turned and walked back to the lift. He entered and punched in the deck that housed the ships armory.
“Shore leave?” She asked, his question had caught her off guard. “No, I don’t have any planes. I hadn’t really thought about it because I didn’t think I’d be allowed to leave the ship. I’ve never been to Sullust before. I’ve heard that the planets surface is rather hostile and that the cities are underground.”
PostPosted: Mon Jun 16, 2008 12:36 pm
"Maybe not on planet, but we're bound to have something in orbit," Ritt replied. "I've never been on most planets anyway. But we're refitting and rearming, so it's bound to let the pilots do the same thing"
“Well, be it space station or planet I don’t think I would know what to do with myself. This shore leave concept is new to me, I’ve spent my whole life either training or studying. Never been free to roam on my own.” She looked from him to the hanger bays ceiling, the wall, down to the floor and finally back to Ritt, her cheeks flushed red. “I’D feel a little lost, and I’m not sure that the others would really like me tagging behind them like some kid sister, if you know what I mean.”
"I'd imagine that the experience would depend on the person. Some might not mind it, although that might be more superficial than desired," he said, imagining gambling and other things which would simply leave her lost to the throes of the environment.
"I've been considering something else. I wanted to try to petition the order to formally train you, as my own padawan. You're assigned to me as a soldier, but you seem to be fitting in around here as well. Instead of bouncing around from brother to brother, I thought maybe you might want to consider settling down here. But I'd rather you think on it first and give me your answer. I'm not much of a teacher, but I figure it'll make things simpler later on."
Aurora looked up at Ritt wide eyed. “I - I thought you weren’t interested in going down that path.” She asked, slightly confused. “Don’t miss-understand me now,” she raised one hand to stall his response. “I would be both grateful and honored to have you as my master, especially sense I haven’t heard from Master Gohgei in so long. I was wondering when my wondering would end and I like it here with you and the rest of the squadron.” She grinned. “Of curse you know it’ll mean that I get to call you master, are you really ready for that?” laughter danced in her bright blue eyes.
Shisstal showed little suprise when Nakara had snuck up on him. Instead he turned towards him. "I happen to like your 'toys' very much Nakara. But that's beside the point. But yes, I've been training for the moment that I would be facing something like this. But there's only so much I can get out of training with droids. Living beings are so much different. Creative, inventive, and unpredictable, for the most part. This apprentice sounds like he will make for a very interesting fight." he said. Shisstal was sure he could beat this other apprentice, he would just need some more training before that time. Then, he be that much closer to his own Darth title.
Shisstal couldn't help but smile a little at that thought. But his slight smirk turned into a grin when Nakara presented him the curved hilt lightsaber. As Shisstal picked it up in his hand, he could already feel that the hilt felt better in his hand than the straight hilt did. "I think it may be very useful after I defeat Fury." he said as he activated the crimson blade.
((yes nelo))
Sonya arced her blade back over her right shoulder, giving it a twist as she blocked the saber. In the same motion, she spun around. The force from her body added to the reversal, as she backed off to give herself some space.
"Jar'kai. Kawaii mentioned you were a practicioner of it. He also mentioned that short of being flashy, it lacks punch. Kind of like you."
PostPosted: Tue Jun 17, 2008 6:13 pm
((Yeah, sorry nelo.))
"What you fail to realize," Nova replied, "is that the only disadvantage of Jar'Kai comes into play when going against a single-wielding opponent who posseses more strength than you. You do not possess such strength." This last statement was emphasised by him switching to the offensive and charging Sonya with both sabers.
Sonya gave a laugh at his last statement, bringing her saber up to meet the double bladed attack. To be told that she was weak was her powder keg of pain. Anger surged through her body, as static began to jump from her body. Her laughter was that of rage. All the hate of all her failures, her weakness, had surfaced to the top.
In a month's time, she had increased her skill dramatically, from the uncontrolled flailing in front of Karah to that of a focused fighter. She hadn't quite learned how to be unconsumed with the rage, but she could now fight with skill somewhat. One full month, from daybreak to well past the lunar cycle, she had done nothing but train saber skills with Nakara's apprentice. Gravity had been increased, skills taught where failure had vicious consequences, and still was taught the art of war admist the physical trials.
"Underestimate me Nova, I dare you," she said, breathing hard. She extended her hand, and sent out a strong force wave in his direction.
((For future reference, Darth Nova's birth name was Roland Firz'r.))
Nova was forced rapidly backwards, using his sabers to take the brunt of the blow. Dammit! She's really pissed now! Then something from back in his days as a Jedi sprang into his mind.
"When your opponent has flared into a dark rage, what must you do, Roland," the wisened old master asked the young Nova.
"Destroy them before they can destroy me," replied the rash boy.
"No! You must remain calm and allow them to slowly destroy themselves from the inside," reprised the Master.
"How is that gonna make me win the fight?!"
"They will eventually act too boldly in their rage, and, leave you the opening you need."
The memory faded from Nova's sight and suddenly he knew what to do. Maybe those years spent toiling under the Light will come to some use!
He quickly put one of his sabers away and resumed the Makashi stance. He distanced himself from the years of resentment and anger, and with a cool mind, prepared himself for any attack his opponent would make.
"Let us hope you become a knight quickly, then," Ritt responded, trying to hide the notion of 'master' as an ego booster. "So that I may instead call you sister. Plus, I figure it'll give the squadron something to really boast about. And well, I wouldn't mind some company that understands the Force. It's not like I see Coruscant much, nor many other jedi. Stryder's a decent guy, but he's not the kind of person you go see about personal things. And it's time I stepped up to some things. I would be very honored if you said yes."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"You've accepted that you will defeat Fury. Good, because I enjoy my apprentices being knocked off by myself, not by some fledgeling wannabe. Makes me look weak, and incompetant. Which has it's advantages, but makes my negotiations very difficult. You've got 24 hours before your battle on the moon. Spend it as you see fit, because it may be the last day of your life. We'll see if you can make the slice," Nakara punned, heading off to the bridge, preparing the vessel to head into orbit.

"Oh, and i've signed you up as my fighter in the upcoming tourney. So be prepared for reality."
