"You're kidding, right?" Kimiko asked, honestly expecting that to be a joke. "Jack Spicer kill Chase Young? Nothing about that sentence makes sense. I can't even see Jack killing a ladybug, let alone a super-powered half-monster that he practically worships!"
Both were silent, Chase because of how infuriatingly embarassing it was, Jack because he still wasn't comfortable with the fact that he had killed Chase Young. "...He was hurting Nina... an' I guess I snapped... An' it wasn't really just me, Inuyasha and the others had ganged up on i'm and had really worn him out and tore 'im up, an' I just... just... surprised him, is all. I'm sure that, if he hadn't already lost, like, half his blood, he woulda just grabbed my arm and, I dunno, broken it off, or somethin'." Chase was surprised by that. He knew that the boy had conflicting emotions about killing him, but he certainly hadn't expected for Jack to stick up for him like that. He also wasn't sure he really would have been able to block that attack; never in a million years would he have seen it coming. And only because his mate was in danger... Perhaps he could use Spicer's newfound strength, instead of just destroying it...
"You're... You're serious?" Kimiko questioned, blinking. "Wow... Nobody's gonna believe this!"
"Good for you, huh, Chase? Mm."

"Well if you want Jack we can always get Kagome or Kikyo to purify you of Chase.... dam weakling of a lizard didnt even put up a real fight.. hes just sore at you that it was you who killed him and not me." Inuyasha smirked.

"It wasn't just one goddess, it was all of the gods and goddesses, from both the planet and the two moons," Jack corrected him. "And there's eight on each, so that's a total of twenty-four assorted gods and goddesses, not just one." He thought about having Chase purified out of him... but he still planned on returning Chase's body to him, and he'd be pretty angry if he was forced to be completely helpless like that.
