((*bashes school on head and runs away* Sorry guys, midterm time...its sticky..and I got a new job...*sigh* ))
Vilya held on as Tura passed over, making sure to deflect the blade away from the gryphon's wings and body.
Tura twisted again with the grace of a cat and came to a hover a little ways away from the dragon.
"Oh...Sorry. Allow me."
"Septum Del Aeris." She pointed her scimitar dramatically toward's Sai's weapon as Tura said the spell with her.
The familliar blue glow enveloped the blade and Tura swooped away to meet Damiano head on.
"Wait for it..." Vilya said quietly, bent low over Tura's back to reduce drag.
They drew closer at an alarming speed. Vilya's eyes began to water as the wind flew past them.
"Now!"
Tura dipped her right wing at the last second, sailing over Ark's right side and leaving Vilya free to attack.
She brought the blade over in a horizontal swipe in an effort to catch Damaino's staff and wrentch it from his grasp.

Sai thought.
Stratus responded.
Stratus began to move through the air, coordinating his and Sais movements based on the sensations and emotions that passed between them through their bond.
Stratus swept down and over, following in the direction Vilya and Tura had gone, but from below. As they neared from underneath Stratus opened his wings and snapped them down, rapidly throwing the two of them upwards to intercept their four allies. Sai kept his sword held in a reversed grip, behind his back, while he held tight to Stratus' neck with his knees.

((Yay for Spring Break! A time for fun and late nights and apparently a lot of German homework xp Well, now that you all know what I've been up to the past few days, I think I'll get to posting sweatdrop ))
Damiano grinned as Vilya and Tura descended upon him. Ark was still beating his powerful wings to push them ever upwards. They had been in air-combat situations only so often however, so neither Damiano nor Ark knew the finer points of finesse in the skies. Sai and Stratus' manoeuvres caught Ark's attention as he ascended. The message was quickly transmitted between the two and both rapidly thought of a means to make this an advantageous situation.
Ark suggested to his master. Damiano inquired. Replied the rather offended dragon. Damiano laughed as he headed for Vilya straight on.
The acrobatics both Vilya and her partner used proved to be quite astonishing. Damiano found himself admiring her form and physique. As he watched, he was able to note roughly where her swing would strike him and it was only just before the impact that he noticed she was going for his weapon, as Ark had anticipated. Damiano made a show of an attempt to keep his staff from her but ultimately allowed himself to fail. He cursed as his staff fell from his hands and acted as though he had been put off balance. With luck, his acting would be as convincing as it was earlier in the tavern. "Damn it Vilya that was my favourite staff!" Damiano exclaimed as he and Ark passed her and Tura by, leaving them to Stratus and Sai below.

"You can get it with a recall spell can't you?." She called back cheerfully, twirling her blade with bright finess.
Tura growled into her thoughts.
Tura rolled sharply to the right, out of the path of the feathered dragon. She fell, passing Stratus just barely before opening her wings and coming up from behind them.
"Nearly had me that time!" She yelled ahead of her.
The gryphon laughed,
Vilya gripped the leather of the harness harder as Tura caught an updraft with her raven-black wings and rocketed upwards. They sailed above Stratus once more, Tura dipping slightly to close the distance between them and the other combatants.
Vilya thought quickly.
Tura replied, angling downwards.

"That I can my dear, that I can," Damiano laughed after hearing Vilya's comment. He stretched out his hand and said 'tornerai' quickly, with emphasis on the last syllable to form the command required for the returning spell. Almost as soon as he said it did the staff vanish from above Stratus and Sai only to reappear in Damiano's grasp. Damiano motioned with his staff through use of a wide arch for Ark to turn. They did not require their rear flank to be exposed in battle.
As Ark turned Damiano kept a keen eye on the scene below him. He wanted to make sure that he was ready for anything the others could do. Just in case, Damiano thought up of a quick spell to use. He was hoping the others hadn't already seen the likes of it or else the effectiveness would be relatively light and only prove to stall for a short time. Damiano thought to his companion. Ark simply nodded while continuing to arch in the sky. The dragon had a few tricks of his own that he was willing to use if necessary.

((been really busy with school and work and lost track of time to come post. sorry bout that))
Jania's anger was beginning to get the better of her when Rayneer stepped in and forced his calmness into her.
Rayneer said soothingly.
Jania let her outward emotions become more calm and stated simply, "lead the way." A small smirk crossing her face.

Raidek stood there, he caught the smirk on her face after she spoke.
Raidek looked down at his chain scythe. Hmm... Then looking back up, he started walking in a circle around Jania. "The thing is, I recognize that I can't trust you." Smiling ever slightly, he spoke on, "Also, since you seem to become more and more aggressive towards me with each passing moment, it leaves me at a fork in the metaphorical road. On one hand, I could go with you, inevitably you'd probably try and kill me, we'd fight, and one of us would win. On the other hand, I have the means to catch up with them, to leave you with your anger. Then again, I could stay here, fight you, possibly kill you, at least probably mame you a little bit, and still catch up with them. So here we are on the brink of eventuality, what do you think?"
Raidek's hand slid down onto the scythe, waiting.

Jania stood stunned for a second before recovering, it was time to speak her mind, or fight to the death. Likely it would be the later but she hoped to avoid that, Raidek really did intrigue her, he reminded her of herself as a girl. "your saying you can't trust me?" Jania said incredulously. "Says the person who hasn't yet listened to the rules i set out from the very beginning. I'd say if there is an issue with trust it would be me not trusting you." Jania stated calmly. "I don't kill for pleasure Raidek, I kill out of necessity, and only when it is necessary to ensure my survival," Jania stated, the truthfulness was plainly evident on her face. "I had no intention of ever killing you, harming you a little to put you in line, yes, killing you. No." Rayneer stated.
Jania said.

Sai thought to his partner.
Stratus responded monotonously.
Sai spun himself around on Stratus back so that he was facing backwards, towards the incoming opponents. He held his hand down low and then thrust it upwards, palm facing up, as he yelled. "Oriens ventas." He summoned up a gust of strong wind directly beneath Turas left wing, hoping to cause her to veer to one side.
Sai thought.
Stratus did not respond except with a mental affirmative, similar to a grunt.

Tura was hit before she had time to dodge, she bit back a curse as she folded her wing quickly, dipping in the opposite direction and rolling into the air current instead of away from it.
Vilya sent her strategy in images to her partner as they neared the other combatants.
Tura gave a mental nod rolling up-side-down. Vilya let herself drop, holding onto the harness with one hand and holding her scimitar in the other.
She let go at the last moment, Tura reeling away in a tight barrel roll and Vilya aiming to drop down onto the dragon's back.
"Surprise!"

Sai wasn't surprised, it had actually been his plan to do the same thing to Vilya. He jumped up from where he sat and swung across with his sword, left to right. As he swung he called out again. "Ventas!" and thrust forward at Vilya with his free hand, sending a burst of wind at her, attempting to throw her loose from her perch.

"Murus!" She yelled, not anticipating a second magical attack. As Tura had taugher her she bent her shield as it formed, making a point just before her to divert the wind harmlessly on either side of her. The attack still blew her back and as she landed she slipped, falling to one knee and using it to duck under Sai's sword. She lept up, bringing her sword around to meet Sai in traditional hand-to hand combat.
Suddenly something caught her eye, in the distance over Sai's shoulder. A tiny speck of black, drawing nearer...a ship?
Tura cried in her mind, then Vilya saw the arrow clearly hurtling towards the two of them.
"Watch out!"
