Shyrae watched the two fight and shook her head. "That's...very not good." They both had those random moments where they just lost their heads and did stupid things, but she was well used to her uncle's temper and boys being boys. Fighting was just a way of life in the Underdark. Frowning at hte blood though, she raised a hand. "I can take care of that easy." Pressing a finger to the wound on his side, she healed it up quickly and nodded. A glance at Savvy...she hadn't slept with him, had she? How else would he knew those things about her? They had two bone wolves and Sundance who slept with them but maybe that just wasn't enough...

"Of course." He headed down into the cargo areas of the ship to take care of a few matters of business and spent some time with Galley. Walking back wiht a muffin in hand, he handed it over to Gem. "Galley said you hadn't gotten yours yet. So here you are." Glancing up to make sure that sail would hold out until next they made port.

"You said you were framed for a crime. I'll wager that your new friend was the one behind that. though how he got past your defenses is another matter. shall I consider that strike one then?"

before a nod to Shyrae.

"See, all better, no harm done. now...would you like to go below decks, and you can tell me all about this little adventure you've gotten yourselves into while you go looking through what was brought for you both?"

Was a good thing Savvy couldn't see that look because she may of gotten a tad bit pissy about it. Though she knew by the shift and feel of magics in the air what her friend was doing and for the moment, Savryn was content to brush at Chy's feathers, getting a soft noise back from the falcon. But a nod. "Yes he was, and then he made several very distasteful and rather incriminating suggestions as well." Little frown at the defenses thing. "It happens...and a strike if you deem so, everyone else doesn't seem to think so." Shaking her head lightly, "I suppose so, better than on top where I can trip on everything. Come on Shy, we gotta get our stuff together again anyway since it all took a roll around the ship with us."

"Oh you brought me a muffin, how wonderful." Grabbing it from him and biting into it, taking a look at it's insides. "Mmm, blueberry. When did we pick up blueberries..." Shrugging and merely content with her muffin for the moment before another order for someone to get her maps dn she was tracking then thier course. Hm, shouldn't take them too long to get to the ruins. What was that thing again? Oh yes, used to be a church...or so she thought. Had a huge graveyard, that's as much as she knew really. Hm...grave robbing...

"He just kind of jumped her. She was out feeling out the city and he appeared. Of course he was all over us the night before trying to get us to tell him where we came from and what we did and all sorts of things. It was...quite strange." A shake of her head and she looped an arm through her uncle's and followed after Savvy. "Do you think I should go back home, Uncle Malik? I didn't want to upset my parents but...I needed to do this. Maybe it was a mistake though." She glanced around at the mess Hunter's storm steering had made in their quarters and began picking things up. "Savvy...what was in that bag that you had hanging on the nail in the wall? It's...smoking an evil green color."

Malik looked about thier quarters, and scoffed lightly. this was all the private space they got for them both? damned human ships. though he did note the smoking bag and plucked it from the wall lest it do any other kind of damage.

"Indeed. what were you hiding in here, daughter?"
PostPosted: Fri Jun 22, 2007 7:16 pm

"Having second thoughts again Shyrae? What did I tell you about that?" Didn't blame her though, after all Shyrae was younger than her and still feeling things out and trying to find out how things went. While Shyrae went about starting to pick things up, she did her best to help, mostly through detecting the traces of magic and such being given off from thier items. A twitch of her ears at Malik's scoff...he wasn't pleased with it. But what were they gonna do, had to play the cards they did have.

"Evil green smoking...hm, oh, that. I wasn't hiding anything daddy. Was just an experiement I was trying to work on. Kind of like a smoke bomb, but with crushed phosporous moss to give it that color and glow for a glare need to cover one's eyes effect, and then also some of that powder stuff that you can use to paralyze them temporarily. Trying to make all of that airborne and...you know, maybe it's not a good idea right now to be breathing that..."

"I blame it all on Uncle Malik. He showed up and all that confidence and self assurance I had in my choice just kind of melted away." She blinked for a moment as her eyes stung for a moment and began to tear up. "Phosphorous moss. It stings the eyes too. Not bad stuff actually." She waved a hand in front of her face to clear out some of the smoke that was milling about the small area. Clapping a hand over her mouth just in case, she stepped back. Magic induced burns were not pleasant at all. "When did you start working on that?" Sundance popped up and stood in the doorway growling and barking at Malik, racing in and standing between him and Savvy and Shyrae.

A slight raise of the eyebrow at his daughter.

"You've definately been around the necromancy study groups too much."

a flare of light around him, green light that lit the walls, while his gaze moved to sundance.

"Down, dog. you will show me the respect I deserve from whom you serve."

the glow faded, and malik set the bag aside.

"I've warded this room against poison and disease. the chemicals here shouldn't hurt anyone in this room. that should help with your experimenting."

setting the bag down and taking a seat.

"Now open your presents."

"Makes sense, but don't worry about it either." Giving a chuckle before it was attention back to the bag of such and such. "Smokes when you give them a shake and break the vials they're in." Though then it seemed that they didn't have to worry about such things anymore as Malik decided to take care of things for them. See, it was good to have your daddy around, especially when you shared professions. "Mm, a few days ago, you were spending time with your dog and stuff...speaking of which. Calm down girl."

But a shrug to her father then. "Not really, I just get those crazy ideas like mom does and in due fashion feel the need to indulge myself." But a little nod, wasn't it fun to know you couldn't do anything to yourself when playing with dangerous things? At least she didn't have to worry about getting sicky from the humans or anything on top of that. Elven immunities, it was wonderful. But a walk over to where she heard the shifting of weight and hte bag put down, toeing it with her boot to make sure before going about indeed pulling out fun stuffs.

Chewing with a neutral expression on his face as always. "That's a good point to make. Plus some water from the topdeck was leaking down and I wanted to take one before any of it dropped onto them." Tilt of his head thoughtfully though. "Pirates will eat almost anything, won't they?" He laughed softly himself as she explained the term, nodding in understanding. "You are picking up on them like Xeke does." It was... what was the right word again? Oh right, it was cute. "Rather restrictive or metaphorical, I guess. In the sense that the saying limits it to bread as the only food source." Taking another bite of his half of the muffin and thinking for a moment. "Some of them are odd though... Raynes used to always ask me what was up, when we crossed paths during shifts. He always shook his head and just laughed at my answer, then stopped asking me altogether. I guess I'm not very good at riddles." Curious glance to her. "Do you know what is supposed to be up?"

Shyrae reached over and patted Sundance's head then snapped her fingers and pointed to the ground. The dog immediately sat down though a low growl emitted to let him know that she was still watching him. "She's just being her protective self. She's kind of become mine over the past few weeks or so." Glancing at the bags, she watched Savvy go through them and then walked over as well. Lifting out a few outfits that she knew her mother had packed for her that had not been approved by her father, she knew that much. But then, she had always worn a few things that her father hated. "Oh, she packed my favorite cloak! And ginger. I have ginger! Savvy!" Thus handing over a few bone things and other necromantic things to Savvy.

She pieced through a few other Underdark variety things that she couldn't get anywhere else and then pulled out another box. Frowning at it for a moment, she ran her fingers over it and sensed the runic energies enamating. The signature told her clearly that it was from her father. She flipped the runic lock and opened it, then ran her fingers over the few items inside, but one caught her eye right away. And just like that she knew that even though she'd more or less run away from home and upset everyone, she was forgiven and still loved. Not that she had ever doubted it. Reaching in, she pulled out the necklace then closed the box and set it down beside her. The Inthara crest, set in mythril and accented in amber. Fastening the necklace, she ran her fingers over it and then chuckled. It had been runed six ways from Sunday. Daddy was always too protective.

"Good idea, no one likes soggy muffins in the least." But a nod, pirates would indeed eat things that most wouldn't but that wasn't because they were crude like that, they only knew that to survive you had to eat. No food, no living. But another little shrug, fluttering her wings some as if they were sitting in uncomfortable position. "Well, food being the staple food in most diets anyway, it does fit. Suppose for us it would be like the meat winner or something along those lines. Tweak as needed for species." Giving a little laugh and munching on her muffin half for the moment before an all out bout of laughter over the meaning of his confusion over the human phrase. She'd admit...she had been confused by it before but once you learned it was okay. Reaching over she patting his cheek as she calmed herself down. "Oh Kaznec..." Light shak of her head before a final melodic giggle. "It's not literally what is up, it's like saying 'how are you doing'. He was asking your state of being, not what it is...because the sky, birds, air, flying things, or dragon-folk are up literally. Not a riddle really, just an oddly stated phase."

Her own hands worked over various things that were in the bag, recognizing them either by feel or sense of what was hers, the girls duly setting apart what belonged to each by that way. "See, your parents can't possibly be mad at you if your mother is packing some of your favorite things, now can they? You never believe me about it." Chuckling in that cold yet not so cold way of hers that she had adapted from having to keep people at a distance. Or rather wanting to.

For the moment she was feeling over the contents of the box that contained the orbs before setting it aside with her clothes as well as the food her mother had packed in one smaller convient bag. Loved her father's trinkets that allowed such things. Yay bone chips and other necromantic goodies as well. Though at the sense of magic she did have to turn a look to her friend, looking past her all the same but still Shyrae knew it was meant to be at her. "What did you get there? That's an awful lot of magic..."

He listened to her explain, nodding along and finishing off his piece of muffin in the process. Good thing none of the nuts got stuck in between his teeth, that would just be aggravating. "So then I would be your meat winner? Right, I understand now. Though... what do you think Laerethe eat?" That fascinating glimmer in his golden eyes again as anything to spin him off on a tangent when it was even mildly interesting like that. Her burst of laughter, sounding like the twinkling of countless bells, merely confused him even more and he blinked at her as his cheek was patted. Oh dear, she thought he was being hopeless again, didn't she? "Oh... And I had guessed all those things too... I always thought it was a riddle, like those ones you used to ask me. No wonder he just stopped asking after a few days. Another human phrase then? I'll have to keep it in mind." Learning something new was always grand, some things were just harder to wrap his head around than others but he kept it in mind to use the phrase himself someday.

Xeke had been mindlessly floating around and now he came upon the human guard that had accompanied them on the journey. What was his name again? This Seon was not known for its remarkable memory. "Snooping around suspiciously, I see. How humanistic of you... I hope you aren't trying to sabotage the ship."

"I've marked the two special ones with symbols. the eye symbol is one of our droag creations. the other is a creature that isn't easy to find, much less kill. we called them Nightbloods. look like really big and nasty demons. both are intimidating and potent."

though a glance at Shyrae.

"I tried to tell him you didn't need that. but he insisted. I think it's about as dangerous as it is protective. sure it's got a lot of warding power...but it lights you up like a magical firework to those that can sense such things."

Hunter was looking over the prow of his ship, hanging on the rigging. there it was, the ruin that resembled, at least maybe at one time, a massive cathedral or church. and yes, there were occasional markers that seemed like they might have been graves at one point.

"We're almost to port! get your gear and get prepared to launch the longboats. the sand is still fine for a distance but all these markers make it damn near impossible to get a ship close enough to not worry about it."

Caden was minding his own business as he went about the ship, his face buried in the book he had been reading topside before the whole thing between Hunter and Savvy's father had happened. It was odd to be roaming the ship reading his book, some would of wondered why he didn't go to his room and it was the simple fact that he was deep into what he was reading, usually it would take a few tires to get through his head so he would pay attention to whoever was speaking, but still walking around the ship he manage to stay out of anyone else who happened to come down the hall, it was like his senses were good fro this sort of thing.

When the Seon spoke to him it took a minute or so for Caden to raise his head from his book and even then it looked like he was confused until he saw the floating ball of light. After thinking it over for a moment he shook his head and crossed his arms lightly. "Well it seems you like to jump to your own conclusions huh?" He sighed a little before checking the page on his book then closed it. "I wasn't snooping around I was reading, and I don't see any good reason to why I would want to sabotage the ship, it's pretty pointless to me we need this ship even if the Claw is out there."
