This time as Kai fell she tried to simply maneuver into a flip only to realize that the very reason she began to fall was because she couldn't get her feet to move in the first place.

She cringed as she felt her legs try to rip from their sockets as the lower half of her body moved only about an inch from the ground.

Nearly collapsing she decided to rest for a moment. If she rested standing up, she couldn't count it as quitting, right?

The queen looked down to Ryoko with ravenious intent. Really, she was the first thing the queen saw so it really would ahve fallen on anyone that came in her view. Reiling her pencers back, she began to swing the pencers down towards Ryoko.

It was a fluious attack by the queen, definatly something that would level most basic ninja. The queen was that for a reason. She had been raised on Royal Jelly that wasn't just sweet. It was filled with nutrients to strengthen the queens shell and her pencers. It flowed through her blood and made her a variable tank of power. However, she shared one of the same flaws as the take aformentioned. She was slow as s**t.

However, she had the element of surprise for this strike and she didn't drop it. She moved her pencers down towards Haruko. All four pincers came hurtiling toward Ryoko. At the same time, the two tails she had came flying towards her as well. Ryoko would be hard pressed to avoid all of this.

Kai was just thinking about the source of the shaking when Haruko reappeared and snatched her up heading towards what seemed to be the source.

It was a surprise to say the least that the girl was carrying her while using the body flicker jutsu, not an easy jutsu to master. As she laid her down, she thought about running, but decided against it. For some reason she trusted the girl as she told her that she was no longer safe there in the Badlands. But she had a feeling that she wasn't exactly in the lap of safety either.

One thing that could always and very easily unsettle Kaiho Dreyden, aside from her brother, were bugs. More specifically bugs in the arachnid family. Even more specifically spiders and scorpions. Her fear of them was so strong and acute that even her brother, Koichi, never dared to tease her about it.

Needless to say, Kai sat near paralyzed with fear, wearing weighted anklets, staring in horror at the great looming body of the Scorpion Queen. Precious few thoughts were going through her mind at that point.

Really, really BIG FREAKING VENOMOUS BUG!!!!!

All she could see was the gleaming exoskeleton, the large pincers, the drooling mouth, and to top it all off the huge stinger-tipped tail rising very high above her.

I'm a small immobile target...

Armed with nothing more than the jutsu she'd mastered in the academy, Kai felt her mind beginning to shut down. She heard Haruko's comment about dinner and that was the last thing she heard as she felt consumed by blackness.

All too quickly the darkness receded, her head was clear and she could breathe again. She turned to the woman that had seemingly appeared out of nowhere.

"What are we going to do about that?" she asked flatly.

She moved like a demon possessed. She didn't even use an oficial attack patterns or anything. And that was part of her power. She knew a martial art form close to Gouken but not the official style. So if the queen had faught any formally trained Shinobi Taijutsu masters, it was in for quite the surprise.

Ryoko's moves were unpredictable and she made points to attack any joint or weakened area she could find. As stated, her fist strike went right of the scorpions head. It was followed by a kick as well. It connected with brutle force and sent the scorpion back a few steps, almost making it hit the ground. It stood it footing but not for long.

Pushing off the shattered face of the scorpion queen, she moved to attack the joints. namely the ones that connected the scorpions pincer to its body. She moved like a demon around the body of the beast. Striking dead center with a punch then a lowering moon sault kick as she fellt to a lower pincer. she then pushed off of the lower one and came up with an upper cut to the joint. She raised above the joint and soon brought her leg up for a hard hitting attack to sever the joint. She brought her leg down on the joint with a swift ax kick. The arm didn't fall off but it was definatly not in use anymore.

There were screams of pain and agony and the damn thing was definatly pissed at this point. With one arm down, it still meant to kill Ryoko. It shook violently, causing her to leap back and as it did, it brought up it's two tails to try and swat Ryoko away. If it succeeded, it'd follow up with more attacks.

Izumi was in a daze from all that had happened. He had finally found the underground river when suddenly it exploded and Haruko was carrying him and Amaya out of the cave. The next thing he knew Haruko had transformed into a full grown woman and begun fighting a giant scorpion.

It took him awhile to put two and two together but he figured that this was the "mother" scorpion that all the other scorpions had run from, much like children flee from their mothers scoldings. But how Haruko had become a woman he still did not understand. "Could she be....Ryoko Takamichi?" He would have to ask later though. For now he would watch her battle the scorpion. Perhaps he could learn a thing or two from it and his participation most likely wouldn't amount to much anyway.

Kai looked over to dazed boy on the ground not too far from her. There was a girl as well, but she didn't know either of them.

Two new comers and yet...where was the girl from before? She'd brought her here but she was nowhere to be found. Kai got a sick feeling as she realized that Haruko had disappeared just as the scorpion had surfaced and the unknown nin launched herself into battle with it.

"Where's Haruko?" she yelled to the boy.
