Okay, so I disappeared from the guild for a while, just getting back into the swing of things... sweatdrop
Anyway, I'm probably going to buy a baritone or euphonium, but I don't really know exactly what I'm looking for. My budget is ~$2000. Anyone have any suggestions?

i play the trombone (as before mentioned) and today i got a sheet of music with a D (natural) below the line.... i was like HOW THE .... DO YOU PLAY THAT??? apparently you have to have the trigger pulled (since i have an F attachment) and be in 4th and a half... i got it just... wow....
mostly for reference for other trombonists out there... idk how else to play it... but i'm glad i have that trombone! I LOVE LOW NOTES!!!!

triple3 oy, I played flute for six years, then my band director got the great idea of switching me to trombone, talk about opposites, I still dont know how to read base clef, though I have only been playing for about a month... stressed sweatdrop oooooh! Me too! Except I play Baritone and MAN am I awsome. My band bff playes Trombone. The fact that I'm good and because I'm the only one in my grade is bringing me to HONOR BAND! Yay! My band director is sooo proud I think cuz at first I could not make a sound on the flute but the moment I touched the Baritone I could play it. Weird. sweatdrop

I just wanna say to all you sousaphone players out there...YOU ROCK!!!! I once held one and blew through it and it is amazing...They are so pretty aswell..Respect to anyone who can actually play one!!! You're all awesome!! wink

hey! another trombone player here. u know wat really pisses me off. how come we dont get the melody more often. in my school band the trombones are one of the best sections, cause we know wat we're doin! but no, they give the trumpets who cant for s**t, the melody. at least in my band.

Everything will be okay in the end; Hear_DB: I know! There just aren't enough composers who write melodies for low brass, except sometimes euphonium, who always seem to have the coolest parts... There's a good amount of trombone melody in jazz I suppose if you really want it. I don't mind playing harmony parts though, I like the chords we make.

if it's not okay, then it's not the end.
