junodog CleoSombra Okay, so something new happened today. I was awoken to a phone call (it was 9:30, class was at 10 xD) from my case manager/counselor. See, my school has a psychiatrist that comes in, but in order to see the psychiatrist, we have to see a therapist to touch base with and stuff. So last week, I went to see the therapist, Angel, and I told her about my stuff. She's a grad student at Marywood, doing her practicum in the center. Anyway, I get a phone call this morning. She asked if I would be willing to come down and take an MMPI-2, which is a psychological test. So I go down in the afternoon and talk to her and the director of the counseling center, who is also her advisor (that is, he monitors what she does and is her teacher, sort of). He asked me if I'd ever gone to an audiologist and I said no. He also talked about the prospect of getting a neurological exam. I was sort of surprised, because nobody has ever taken an acting interest in my hearing thing before. Anyway, the MMPI-2 is a very in depth inventory exam. 567 true and false questions. 567. D: I'm gonna go back on Friday. Oh hey, I've had personality assessment things like that before. surprised I've done it twice, actually. The first time was in middle school for basic IQ stuff and to see if I had ADHD, and the second time was in the spring of '09 at my university's counseling center to look into me having social anxiety (second time was for free since I was giving grad students someone to practice on XD). It wasn't the exact same thing you're gonna take, but the second time, at least, had a component with a ton of true/false questions, and that part isn't nearly as intimidating as it sounds. You're probably just in for a bunch of no-brainer questions (maybe some trickier ones mixed in) that repeat themselves a few times, it's nothing too difficult. I'm glad you're taking advantage of the offer, though. It really helped me both times I took it, and even if the one you're doing is different/more difficult than what I did, it'll still be worth it. 3nodding Oh, no. I DID already take the test. Sorry about the confusion there. It took about 60-70 minutes in all. I'm going back this Friday after they've done the results and stuff. What was the test like for ADHD? Do you remember?

That's why I stay in the zCB most of the time now. The latest cool thing seems to be doing everything you can to upset random people, so I'd rather stay here where I know that sort of thing isn't tolerated. =|

What was the test like for ADHD? Do you remember? Ohhhhh, okay. Just imagine I said everything in past tense, then. Or something. sweatdrop The ADHD test was basically a general IQ test-type thing. I remember having to use blocks to reproduce patterns, put a bunch of words in order to make a sentence, ink blot tests, make stories up for pictures... random stuff like that. I can't remember the actual test too well, plus it's kind of getting mixed up with my memories of the second test, but they were pretty similar so yeah. The woman who did my ADHD test had a kitty, though. :3 I was doing a lot more testing than you did, too, so both times lasted over a span of a few days so I wouldn't have to sit in the same room for like 8 hours at a time, doing random exercises...

One of those trashy soapish ones with mostly plotless shipping. But damn, the shipping wars are worth it!

I meant he doesn't like them like at all XP They're just feet to me. I wouldn't mind rubbing Alex's feet, but it's definitely not a fetish, and I wouldn't do it for anyone else... XD

So you may or may not know that I'm a knitter. The only one in the family. Well, active, at least. My whole family used to love doing crafts, but as the years went on, that faded. Now, I'm the only one. And Saturdays in my family are really quiet. Everyone does there own thing. Actually, that's true for most days.
Anyhow. So, I'll start on a project, work on it for a week or so, and then lose steam. And it will sit around for a while until I get to it again. My first scarf took two years because of this tendency. And I'm reading a book about a knitting group and thinking of how nice that would be. But again, I don't know any active knitters. Well, that's not quite accurate. Mom learned how, but hasn't done such since before I was born. And though some of my aunts can, I've never really been comfortable with that side of the family. I think having someone to share this with would actually bring a reason to what I do.
If I knit at school, I just get the reaction "Wow! You know how to knit?" That combined with the usual "You're so smart" comments seem to be the only things I'm ever seen to do well with. In my family, it's even less.
And I'm rambling.
tl;dr: Knitting can be dull without someone to share it with. And I think I have self-esteem issues.

I am really getting sick of having to force myself to go down to the dining hall, not because I have no appetite, but because I get so focused on other things that I forget to eat regular meals. >.<
