Khastur elbowed Issildia "Maybe you are being a tad too harsh on the little lady, it's a hard thing to swallow, death. Not everyone can be brave like you-- there was really nothing she could have done to help on the battlefield.." Khastur looked at his horse "If she shows herself to be a woman of piety, if she repents and does something for her country before the end-- then I can forgive her... what say you?"

"Perhaps...if atonement can be found before the end." Issildia said solemnly, while looked out of the corner of her eye at Sylph. "We all have our fears...I suppose that dread of death is a valid one..." she added.
Sylph glanced at them, "So is that an apology." said haughtily to Issildia.
Issildia cocked an eyebrow..."Not quite."

Khastur laughed, "Issildia you're normally so stoic it really makes me laugh to see you so fired up.." he looked to the sky to see it's tone. Judging by the color they were making ample progress, but will still have to stay in Meradea for the night--Khastur would have gone through the forest at night as a boy, when he remembered every nook and cranny in his mind, but now he simply saw trees-- they didn't carry the same meaning anymore...

Issildia laughed slightly, "You should have known me before the war in Anier...I was a different person then. My comrade Demitri and I used to do all we could to spite the Tel Sinvitar, they were a rival squad of clandestine soldiers to the Tel Mithern of which Demitri and myself commanded..." At mention of Demitri's name any elation in speaking of the past faded. "But then I suppose we all change with time." she added softly.

Khastur tried to keep the light humor in check, it had been morose for weeks and he liked the new change. "We certainly do, I couldn't imagine myself a green-clad ranger, picking mushrooms and raising animals in the woods." Khastur looked to Issildia "So, you were a princess, weren't you? When all this is over, are you going to rule a kingdom as a queen?" Khastur squinted and put his thumb in front of his eye over Issildia's head imagining a crown before bursting out laughing.

"Bite your tongue" Issildia said with a laugh. "I would never want to rule Larovia in my father's stead...and have my life controlled by duty and the bloody council. I don't think so Khastur. I've never been one to stay in one place for long anyway." she added lightly.

"I agree..So what will you do then, hmm? I mean-- if you don't mind." Khastur noticed Sylph edging a bit closer, her air of contempt clearing a bit, things were looking up and Khastur was ready to think about what he wanted to do after all of this.

Sylph was content to simply listen to them converse, she had more important things to be considering, such as getting into the aristocracy of Meradea. She had a few cousins that resided there and that may aid her if she truly needed it. ~ "After this is over...for a time I suppose I will keep to my skills in forging a livelihood, perhaps be a mercenary for hire and do what I do best." she stated bluntly. "To be honest I've never really considered settling down somewhere to start a different life...and have a family. Like I said I don't enjoy being restricted to one place...though perhaps one day." she said going quiet for a brief moment before speaking again.
"But enough about me...what do you plan to do Khastur...should this war be brought to an end?"

"I was going to try and find a way to restore my memories, the real ones...Then maybe I'd help the Ryerans resettle in their homes; after that-- maybe I'd just stay with them..." Khastur shrugged, "But evil never really dies, does it? I could just keep on fighting and live the life of an adventurer; free ale and admiration abound!" Khastur waved his arms in the air to enact a parade held in his honor. Khastur gripped the reins again and nodded, smiling. "But that's a ways off I suppose."

"It isn't as simple a good and evil, they are merely archetypes that we name as such to ease our regret when we have to commit dark deeds. Though you are correct after a fashion, those archetypes exist within us all...so obviously the idea of good and evil is immortal." Issildia said in a serious tone. "And yes, I suppose that is a bit to far off to be thinking about now." she said.
"But perhaps we can find some one of the proper skill to return your memory...if not then I'm sure I could persuade one of my father's mages to do so." Issildia said rather darkly with a light smirk.

"Well that's certainly something to look foward to, isn't it?" The sun began to come down as he spied the trees starting to thin, soon they would give way to Meradea. "Miss Sylph I trust we will be outfitted with free gear and boarding in Meradea? Since we have been OH so hospitable to you, we will surely be greeted well by the bourgeois of Meradea, and treated with grand hospitality-- hmm?" Khastur looked to Sylph with an eyebrow cocked, trying hard to keep himself composed.

"Do you hear that Issildia?" He nudged Issildia with his elbow after dismounting from his horse "We ruffians are to be seen and not heard! Very well.." Khastur sauntered behind Sylph and Issildia in a military fashion, keeping his head low.

He stirred once more as the revibiration of voices floated towards his ears. He also smelt something familiar in the air. His eyes opened thinly his eyes refusing to completely focused as the pupils became large and small. Though his vision blurred he could tell he were no longer traveling. His contemplated the familiar scent of the air , sure that he had been around it before. "Meradea.." he said lowly under his breath, it being the first thing that came to his mind. His eyes widened slightly, his pupils shrinking drastically. He was still tired and sore, which limited some of his movements. He slid from the horse and fell to the ground with a thud as he winced in pain, letting out a loud grunt. Recovering quickly from his fall, he rose to his knees and soon to his sore ankles, which strained under pressure but still managed to support him for the moment. He noticed the pain from his shoulder subsided fro the most part as he reached would reach his arm up to feel the depth of the wound. He felt only his normal flesh as if nothign had happened yet was still sore as he winced slightly from the pressure of his probing fingers. He gazed about with a somewhat of a mild paranoia.

Issildia gave a brief laugh at Khastur's words before her expression turned serious and she focused on the great oaken door that they now approached.
Sylph tapped lightly on the door with her bare knuckles twice and within a matter of moments the door open and a pale powered face emerged. "Sylph?" asked a soft voice.
Sylph gave a curt nod and looked to the woman hiding behind the door. "Alexandra," Sylph said, she appeared as it she was about to speak again but the blonde haired woman behind the door stepped outside, garbed in a copper colored gown. "What happened cousin?" she asked, a look of concern crossing her face.
Sylph exhaled wearily, "Faltora was besieged by Larovia's forces, I come to you in search of safe haven."
"But who are they." interrupted Alexandra while looking to Khastur and Issildia.
Sylph scowled slightly at this but answered her cousin nonetheless...though the words that came from her mouth were not even akin to the truth. "They are guards sent by Lord Remos to safe guard me until I reached this city."
This seemed to please Alexandra well enough and she beckoned them inside. Issildia looked at Khastur skeptically when Sylph lied to her cousin about their names.
"Well, well she is a politician." Issildia muttered to Khastur as they stepped into the entrance hall of the manor.
