Kilik walked over to his Pokemon. "Time to get up guys," he said while he headed back to the Saffron South Gate. Flareon quickly got up and followed its trainer. Koffing took a while longer, but caught up none-the-less. When he was walking to the gate, he noticed a small building over to his right. "What's that?" he whispered. Curiousity overcame him and Kilik approached it. "Vermillion-Cereluean Underground," he read aloud the sign that sat in front of it.
"Flareon!" it barked happily, walking inside.
"Don't get ahead of us, Flareon," the boy laughed, trying to mask his mixed feelings. Anger and sadness. Hate and despair. It was about as clear as mud, but he understood why he felt this way. He was mad that Nina was so angry with him, but this also made him sad. Brushing off the feeling, he walked down the steps.

Highwind Stopped outside of the Sea near Sootopolis City. He then Threw out his pokeball and a Spheal Emerged from the ball. It then yawned and looked innocently at Highwind. Highwind just looked back and smiled. He then Took out his Map and glanced at his position.Hmm.... Maybe we should go to Petalburg? The Spheal just looked at him happily. Petalburg it is then. He then started along the shore to look for a Dock to get a boat.

As Highwind walked along the shore he saw a dock up ahead. He walked torword it and saw it wass bustling with activity. A Sailor was hanging a mast with the help of his pelipper, a Skitty watched a ship head out to shore, and a Ship was preparing to come in to the bay. Spheal though started to roll along to a sailor that was preparing to disembark. Highwind Shot after the spheal and once he caught up the Sailor asked if that was his. "Yes it is." Highwind Replied. "And I needed to find a Boat embarking to Petalburg.""Well you won't find any going there, There is no sea that leads there"The Sailor said with a boast of laughter."What? No sea?""No, it doesn't even have a lake near it. Just ponds and such.""Oh sorry. I just don't know much about any other town.""Well I am Going near the Forest there and That is near so I can take you.""Thanks" Highwind said."So you can board now I'm leaving in 10 minutes.""Okay then Thanks again." Highwind then boarded holding his Spheal.

Jaeshan stopped and looked up at the sky. Dark clouds were moving in fast, and the scent of rain was heavy in the air. He continued to head towards the light house, noting that many of the trainers had started to return to Cerulean. Soon a steady rain was falling, soaking them from head to toe. Butterfree had came back rather quickly, practically begging to be recalled. Mightyena and Nidorino continued to stay by their trainer's side.

Kilik heard a loud crack of thunder while he was in the underground. He stopped dead in his tracks. Flareon and Koffing looked at him. "Flare?"
"Koff?"
"It's nothing. Come on," Kilik said, taking a step foreward and continuing to the end of the underground.

Jenna looked at Inferno, trying to read the fire-puppy's thoughts as it stared at her while the rain fell harder. It seemed to make some kind of decision and rose from where it sat and stepped towards her, then reached up and placed a paw on each shoulder. The growlithe's eyes were deep brown as they saw each other nearly face to face. Jenna didn't move. She didnt' even dare to breathe. Belle chirped nervously from her packsack seat as the staring contest continued for moments. Then, Inferno's jaws parted and Jenna saw his large canine teeth and deep red tongue.
This is it, I'm going to be killed by a pokemon! she thought to herself as she winced, awaiting the blow that would rip out her throat and send her blood spilling into the already soaked streets. She felt Inferno's warm breath on her face and then a warm wet rasping as he licked her cheek. Jenna's eyes popped open in surprise. Inferno's tail was wagging and his mouth was wide open in a puppyish grin. "I take it I'm acceptable?" she laughed, relieved that she wasn't going to be bitten or worse.
"Growlithe!" Inferno confirmed and sat down again on the pavement waiting for his new mistress's command. Jenna smiled at him then looked out into the rain.
"Right. To the Pokemart then!" and they stepped out into the gloomy afternoon.

Kilik exited the Underground, appearing very close to Cerulean City. The rain was really coming down. "I don't want you two to catch colds, so in you go," the boy said, holding up two Pokeballs and calling back his Pokemon. He went outside, almost becoming drenched the moment he went outside. His footsteps squelched in the mud. "It's pretty cold for August..." he shivered slightly.

The rainfall helped to ease Nina's mind about what had gone on earlier. She went to Ecruteak's Pokemon Center, where Sabrina was waiting, and said, "I'm ready to go now. I'm a little nervous, though..."
Sabrina smiled. "Don't worry, Nina. You'll beat Morty with no problems."
Nina nodded a little bit. "I sure hope so..."
After a few more moments of idle chitchat, Nina and Sabrina headed off toward the Ecruteak gym; Mihoshi was in Nina's arms and Anna floated alongside.
She stopped at the gym's doors, letting out a deep sigh. "I can do this, " she whispered softly to herself, and reached for the door.
Entering the gym, Nina noticed a very large gap in the middle of the floor; she also noticed a male trainer on the other side of the gap.
"Welcome!" the male said. "I am Morty, Ecruteak's gym leader."
Nina smirked a little. "I am Nina, and I have come to challenge you in a Pokemon battle!"
Morty grinned a little. "All right," he replied, "then find your way across the invisible floor and come over to me. Then I shall accept your challenge." He then looked from Nina to Sabrina. "Well, look who it is," Morty said. "Sabrina Williams herself. It's been a long time, Sabrina."
Sabrina raised an eyebrow. "Not long enough, if you ask me." She then looked to Nina. "The path over to him is simple-- walk three steps upward, one step left, one step upward, four steps right, one step upward, two steps left, and five steps upward."
Nina smirked a little bit, as a slighty expression of annoyance passed on Morty's face. "Easy enough," Nina said.
"Hey!" Morty called, "that's not fair!"
Sabrina shrugged and smirked a little as well. "Oh well. Life goes on."
Nina began walking across the invisible path...

Kilik entered the Pokemon Center, dripping from head to toe. His black hair stuck to his face, severly obscuring his vision. He let free his two Pokemon. The two appeared in a bright flash of light, both looking very happy and dry. "Nurse Joy, I need a place to stay," he laughed, shaking his leg and sending water all over the floor.
"All right, just go change first," she chuckled.

Lighting streaked across the sky, and Jaeshan and his Pokemon had to make a run for it. The lighthouse was coming up into view, and they pushed harder, the rain beating down on them. They approached it, standing underneath the overhang, breathing heavily and soaking wet.
"Might as well wait it out," he said with a chuckle.

Kilik emerged from the bathroom dressed in a brand new attire ((on the first page)). The white and black sweater he donned was very warm and comfortable. His blue jeans felt different from his black pants that he was wearing before. Upon his head rested a towel. Kilik even wore a new pair of red shoes. The boy walked over to the center's couch and sat down. "Nurse? Think you can give my Pokemon a check up?"
"Sure!" she laughed, picking up the Flareon and motioning the Koffing to follow.

Running back and forth from the Pokemart in the pouring rain was not fun. Jenna and Inferno were completely soaked by the time she returned to the Pokecenter for the rest of the afternooon. Alone for the first time in a while, Jenna found herself rummaging through her pack for something to do. All of her pokemon were safe and warm in their pokeballs, having a nap. Digging deep past the packets of pokemon food, she felt her fingers hit something sharp. Pulling her hand out quickly, she saw a drop of blood on the tip of her ring finger of her right hand.
"What the heck?" Carefully, she reached back into the pack and felt around for the object. Her fingers slid over something smooth and metallic and she pulled it out into the light of the lamp on the bedside table. It was a brooch shaped like an oak leaf, green edged in gold. She had pricked her finger on the pin. Attached to the pin was a small note dangling from a peice of string, like a gift tag. Jenna reached out and flipped it over, revealing her father's familiar handwriting on the other side.
Jenna, take good care of yourself and your pokemon. Come home when you're ready. We're so proud of you. Dad P.S. Dont' get lost.
Jenna laughed a bit and then sighed. The brooch sparkled in the light from the lamp as she held it. For a long time, she just sat, staring at the pin and the p***k on her finger.

She smirked ready for a battle. This girl is going down. Ebony can finish this one quick! She gripped Ebony's Pokeball waiting for Mike and the boy to chose thier Pokemon.

Coming back to earth after dazing off for a while, Mike realized he was right in the middle of a battle. "Agh!" He jolted forward, fumbling with one of his Pokeballs.
"Portabello!" He yelled as the Breloom erupted from his confinment, ready for battle.
All right! Awesome! Portabello hopped back and forth, taking the forward positon.
"A fighting type yourself? Looks like this will be a grand match!" Said the boy, releasing a Hariyama, it bellowed and smashed it's fists together, eager to fight.
"Your move Mitsu!" Mike yelled to his partner.

"Gotcha!" she said. "Psychic are weak against Ghost. Ebony use Lick attack!" Mitsu commanded. The Ghastly flew up in front of the Meditie's face and gave it a long, wet lick in the face.
"Don't take that!" The girl commented. "Confusion!" The Pokemon sent the Psychic attack and it hit square on. Ebony took much damage from the attack.
