I know Flarn's accident was studdied to death, but in light of the recent events, perhaps we should set someone to re-review the information centering around his change. It may yield some new clues. Unfortunately I have a busy day tomorrow (And I haven't even gotten to touch my Harry Potter and the Deatly Hollows!)

IlilotIblake The Iron Magus IlilotIblake Flarn --> Revived by G-corp & Zurg Technology --> Zooeep introduced Darknrgy to Flarn, so she can use him as a ultimate weapon --> Blake, still not getting the point on how Flarn can be a Vampire. Yes, G-Corp could possibly injected him with Vampire syndrome or w/e, but, how can he be a Vampire that feeds off of energy? Zooeep introduced him into Darknrgy. That's about it. Only because Zooeep wanted him to be a ultimate weapon, for her to use.
Unless you're just thinking in traditional vampire terms... which went out the window in the first post.Well, I'm saying. Why would he be a vampire? I mean, if he was a energy vampire then he would have found out about Darknrgy by himself. He wouldn't have need Zooeep help on finding Darknrgy. Actually, Zooeep introduced him into Darknrgy, and he just got drugged on it. xD;;

Dirt, Bacteria and other things could possible affect The G Virus inside the Main Grunny Host... You don't really know how clean they were after leaving them alone each night in their cages... Now then... Zurgs Technology was used with a G Virus strain to revive flarn... We all know that Zurgs are all "Peace & Love" but once they entered Gaia atmosphere they began to slowly change into more emotional creatures... That's how 09 got knocked down... They got emotional against him... Now for... Zurg & Gaian Technology was used altogether to bring 09 back, so, what if..
What if The G Virus was a clean dose & The Zurg energy were clean things too? You must remember that Flarn was shot down while in a strong emotional state, you know that after he came back it said he had changed... It is clear that anger was consuming him but he didn't really know the real reason for it. Mother seemed to know what happened and said that they needed to "clean" Flarn and so they had to leave Gaia becuase it's strong emotions had brought Zurgs apart. My theory is that Emotions will play a strong part in this... Flarn may perhaps been the first Vampire on Gaia to feed on Dark Energy...

Ahem. First of all, I seriously doubt that the virus could be contaminated the way you described. Biology just doesn't work that way. Second, what the G-Virus actually does is not make people into zombies/vampires, but combine cells of two different organic masses. This was all explained in the manga updates where Gambino was reborn.
The zombies in the first outbreak happened because the dead cells in the Labtechs' (and Gaians') bodies merged with the living cells. The Grombies happened because the Grunnies, who somehow have the G-Virus in their system naturally, were unleashed. The virus then combined their cells with Gaians' when they got in contact. The Gaians became Grombies and as a side effect, Grunnies started to form from their bodies (remember the very last stage of the infection?) I'm speculating that the Grunny is a parasitic organism which reproduces by fission, but it needs a "host body" for the fission to work. It merges with Gaians and then the Grunny part of their merged DNA starts to multiply, creating pure Grunnies.
It was also revealed that being infected by the G-Virus but not merging with anyone/thing boosts a person's power greatly and doesn't change their appearance at all, but makes them physically and mentally unstable. This is what happened to Gambino. He only finally merged with another body when he was shot and that probably is why in the first part of Gino/Johnny's recovery, Gino's gentle personality was much more in control of their merged body. Then, as he recovered, their personalities merged as well, with Johnny's being stronger in effect.
So if the G-Virus was used on Flarn then he must have merged with someone/thing, because he looked different than before. The merging MIGHT be the reason for his hunger for DARKNRGY, but I think it was revealed by one of the Zurg that they subsusted off pure energy naturally, so there was nothing unusual about Flarn's addiction and behaviour, as any Zurg who was subjected to the amount of DARKNRGY Flarn was subjected to would have reacted the same way.
Also, I think your assumption that the Zurg became more emotional the more they stayed on Gaia is incorrect. The shooting down of Flarn happened very early during the Zurg's stay and from the beginning, they exhibited their characteristic emotional traits.

And since the bunny was already genetically modified, its body somehow transformed the serum into the virus and became a host for it. Mmh, it could be like that. The serum your talking about was meant to "enlarge" Human Life Span to make them live more or become immortal... And yes, perhaps that was what they injected the Bunny... By the way... Solarn... do you ALWAYS have to be so serious? o.0
