"Lot of cultures have tales about threads or strings, but those are mainly about people and not nature. It could be just the way they see nature, which is possible...." Lore shrugged for a moment.
There wasn't much else he could said about taht, or anything else he knew beyond that.

Storm and Starr stopped what they were doing and exchanged a worried glance. The rain was still falling steadily as they turned back to Lore and Elnara, their dusky faces tinged with red.
"It's not working," Storm muttered, shuffling his feet on the dock.
Elnara glanced at Lore. "At least the wind's stopped," she shrugged.

Lore nodded, though he had to admit, he didn't know how long they were going to keep raining like that.
"Uhm... well how did you play with the threads to get the rain?" he asked the twins.

Immediately, without hesitation, both twins pointed down at the river that was flowing only a few feet below their feet. It was a neverending source of water and energy. After all, the twins couldn't create something out of nothing, they could only use what was already there.

"You played with threads that were in there?" Lore asked.
It made sense really, afterall it was a source of water and rain was caused by vaporation though it didn't explained the lack of clouds though.

The twins nodded. "See?" Starr pointed. "Those ones down there, they moved now, but we can't reach them anymore. They're way up there!" And she pointed upward, far above her head.
Storm gazed upwards, his milky eyes thoughtful. "Maybe Papa can lift us up there," he murmured.
Starr looked at him, then looked up. After a moment of deliberation, she nodded. "Yes," she agreed. "They're up where Papa can reach."

Ulani heard the faint sound of cries coming from the house and slipped away from the confusion, leaving Ulrich there to keep an eye on things. It seemed Aliya was awake - earlier than usual. She smiled to herself and headed into the house to get her.

"Well, why not try that?" Lore asked as he turned to Elnara, "Could you hold her for a second?"
Since he couldn't hold all three at once.

Elnara nodded and reached over, taking Idhril from Lore. In all honesty, she was eager to hold her daughter.
Idhril stirred a bit as she transferred from one parent to the other, but continued sleeping peacefully.
The twins were still gazing upward and discussing between themselves. They hadn't heard Lore's comment to Elnara, and were still debating how to stop the rain.

Lore turned and then held his arms out to his little children, the thought that passed through his mind surprised him. Still, he wanted to help them as much as he could.
"Would you all like me to pick you up now?"

The twins turned and looked up at Lore, and both of them grinned identical grins.
"Yes please!" they chorused, each of them reaching their arms out to him, their milky eyes sparkling a bit.

Enclosing his arms around them, he held them close before standing up again. He wasn't sure where he was suppose to be, since he couldn't see. But since they said it was over the river, and it was now higher above the river, he assued it was somewhere around his height over the river.
He hoped.
"Here?" he asked them after he positioned himself.

Storm and Starr exchanged a glance, then looked down at Lore with one eyebrow raised.
"Over there," Starr pointed off a bit.
"Can't you see it?" Storm asked, confused.

"No," Lore replied softly, "You two are the only ones here who can see the threads."
He moved towards where Starr pointed and adjusted his position accordinly.

The twins' eyebrows shot up in surprise, and they stared at each other, eyes wide. Then they turned back to Lore.
"Only-"
"-us?"
