Best use of the 3D Pipes screensaver ever. Teehee, I've used that screensaver before. They should have played an old '89 computer game called 'Pipe Dream,' though. That would have been funny, the objective is to keep building more pipes before they can overflow.

I for one don't care if people cyber. To each their own. But not on this site since it iis in fact against the TOS ~shrugs~ I don't really care what people do in their freetime, some would say acting out a fantasy role online is stupid and for people with no life. :/ the same way people say that about the folks who cyber.
But then I don't really care what people do in their freetime as long as both people are concenting and it's only the people involved. talk2hand

Kotou s here, and will put in her two cents about the topic.
Cybering, is like sex, when done in private with the consultant of both parties, it's not a bad thing; when done in public and in an obnoxious way, or in a way that is abusive, demeaning, and harassing, it is a very negative thing. I myself am a writer, and I have done my share of writing things that are NC-17, but where it is allowed. I'm not disrespectful about it, I use my talents in a mature way, which I think many people do not do.
No, I'm not a lonely girl who gets off to text, I am just a romantic and, an adult. I can understand banning someone for doing it in the guild, or in a public area. If you cyber for your own 'personal gain' I think that's just kind of sick and wrong, but if you are writing a mature theme, for the sake of the story, and it is agreed by both parties, that you both understand and KNOW what you're getting into, then, I guess I can't see it being that bad.
Like I said though, that's a more private thing, out of the way of children, between the roleplayers, for the good of the story, and not for personal gain.
That's my take on it anyway.

Yes, Kotou, that's a great way of looking at it, but the key thing that you all have to pull form what she said is that it was private.
What people do when no others can see/hear/read them, is up to the people who are involved. You should all let them make their decisions when they are going to be discrete about it, but I do agree with the original statment in this forum that people who break the Terms of Service (TOS) should be banned from the guild. There are guilds for people who possibly want to get "physical" with each other in a Role-Play environment, and they should be left to do that there.
However, generalizing and saying that you are going to try and 'weed out' cybering, or ban it permanently is the same situation we are facing at a national level right now. Most people on Gaia keep their cyber-sexual relations to Private messages. To be revealed, the moderators of this website would have to infiltrate their 'Private' messages and acquire evidence of their actions pertaining to a cyber-sexual relationship. It is no different than tapping a phone line to spy on supposed 'terrorists' who are supposedly in our country.
To attack and ban all cybering is, technically, an attack of our Freedom of Speech that is guaranteed by out Bill of Rights. I'm not saying that that is a defense that any people who partake in public cyber activities should take, because it is much the same as trying to have intercourse at a McDonald's. You would be asked to leave, and told not to return. So is it here where people, and yes, children could look at what is being posted at any time and be revealed to a whole world that they most likely aren't prepared for.
Keep this in mind when you are formulating the rest of your arguments.
