arrow Fieldsex???
Things couldn't have worked out better...the ice shield provided what the commander had been hoping for, a barrier between him and his opponent that would hide his movements...as soon as that barrier went up, his recalled spheres flattened out and formed a sphere barrier around the commander, leaving a tiny hole in the front for the commander to see, within the energy shield as to mask any detection by contact with the surrounding chains...the ball basically began spinning rapidly sideways(looks like it's trying to roll off to the left, if given room, but yea...spinning in that direction), with the commander inside...he was charging a lot of the armor's remaining energy into the rear of the sphere, leaving just enough to keep the shield around him active to conceal his intent...all this was done rather quickly being that the things that he is controlling is so close to him...
At the first sign of the ice barrier giving way, all the energy for the shield immediately was rerouted and concentrated at one point at the back of the spinning sphere and launched it forwards at high speeds...by the time Shuten had broken through the barrier, the metallic sphere was already coming at him...one would have to wonder if he had enough time for his hand seals, and if he somehow did, if they would help him at all...Sometime right after launch, the sphere quickly changed into what he could only identify as a cone shape, with the rapid spinning, any details around the outside of the cone would be hidden quite well...A direct hit would be devestating, the hidden drill pattern of the cone, the rapid spinning, the speed that it was coming at, the sheer amount of energy pushing it forward...one would now have to also wonder if Shuten's armor would handle such a thing...

Ninja 1: Sir! I think something has happened to the main force!
Shunketsu: not good...but all we can do is hope that they're not delayed too long...we don't have the time to return to them to help out...besides...they should be fine...but I do hope they catch up...and soon...
Shunketsu and his group continued their journey to the base...Shunketsu didn't have that much time, he needed to get there early to set the next part of his plan up...

arrow Leaving the Area
Kotai lifted a hand above his head. "All units, prepare to move out on our previous course." He turned to the other Defenders, looking them over. "You. Tetsujin, of Cloud. Aid Shuten, then quickly rejoin the main force."
He took hold of Hinata's hand briefly. "Come, love. It is time we got back to our main task." He motioned to a medi-nin to see to the young woman Shuten was protecting. Kira would find herself spirited away from ground zero as soon as the ice wall went up, and taken back into the trees by an allied medical ninja. This same ninja would tend to Shuten after the battle.
Tetsujin drew Raiketsu and slid its back across his shoulder, tapping it against his shoulder twice. "Such a bother, but it can't be helped. Go, I'll look after the rockhead." With that, the floral-dressed member of the Legendary Rolling Thunder Swordsmen began to walk towards the battle, sighing to himself.
Kotai nodded once and looked over the main force. "We're done here. Move out!" As one, a small army of ninja disappeared, along with their leaders.

That one single hand seal Shuten had prepared as he came through was what was MOST important. The drill effect, as it were, seems to go through him, coming out probably behind him with its speed..but what it explodes through is a large stone, a replacement. Kawarimi. Shuten himself? Well, there's only one place he'd go, and it should be pretty apparent. Nothing to do now, couldn't be helped; the chains all came down, vanishing away. Holding the technique drains too much energy if he's not doing anything with it. While under the ground, he takes a moment to ponder. Just a moment.
Crossing his arms while swimming under the ground, Shuten ponders. This enemy seems to have a lot of different counter-capabilities, but his actual attacks seem lacking. Certainly he could make attacks, but he was more of a counter person. That's what he'd gleaned. He decides finally..and comes up, not undernearth the enemy, but about thirty feet behind and slightly to the right. His eyes flash, as does the suit's helmet, on the forehead area. The symbol shows up; Mujoufuuin; the Seal of Cruelty. Regardless of whatever is in that suit, it has a mind. The Seal of Cruelty influences minds, crushes wills, and takes control of thoughts, making them nothingness, nothing but slaves.
"Mujoufuuin!"
He doesn't have to do anything but think about it, and it happens. The force of Mikaboshi's armor would do its best to force itself on the will of the enemy. Shields, and the like wouldn't matter. It goes right into the mind; a form of powerful telepathic/psionic attack. You'd have to literally rewire an entire brain near instantaneously to avoid it; it's not like Genjutsu. It attacks the mind and soul, and goes so much further.

If it was a contest of mind and will that Shuten wanted, it was a contest of mind and will he'll get, but here's the catch, Shuten only had one mind with his one will...
What Shuten would now face was one will, but not one mind. The effort that Shuten would have needed to control one mind would not be enough here...as if that commander's one mind had been split into a hundred, each one connected to eachother, with each one fully capable of individual thought as well, on the most part at least...of course, the commander would be rendered immobile at this point in time, with his spheres dropping to the ground at the moment, but one would really have to wonder who was going to win this mental battle, Shuten or the commander and...well...hundred other minds...

::hinata cast one more glance back at Shuten and the chaos in the field and then started to march straight towards their original target. Once out of the area she made a quick check on those that had been with them, checking on wounded and to see if they had taken any loses. She shot one slightly nervous glance over at Kotai, making sure that he had collected himself::
::The med nin would find that Kira was very snippy. She would appear to be brushing off the help, insisting that she was fine and then clamming up entirely::

arrow Shunketsu's Squad
It was dark...the moon was barely showing through the clouds. A loud rumbling was heard as a tower returned from a successful journey.
Shunketsu: "Alright...you all know the plan by now...we go in with the tower and make a break for the shielding generator closest to the entrance...I hope Kotai and the others aren't too far behind, because they'll only have a few hours before the shield generator is repaired...Ready? Everyone Move!"
The entire squad leaped in as the floor opened up to reveal the elevator that would bring the tower into the base. Within a minute, several had their Snow-built armors flared up and released a torrent of ninjutsu's into their immediate areas...They only had one attack each, two at most before their armors would fail and they'd be left with almost nothing...Blood-curdling cries ensued as, one by one, the squad members were defeated.
Saeko: "Shunketsu! This way!"
Shunketsu: "Right behind you!.....There it is! Katon: Yomi Adauchi!"
Armor activated, Shunketsu threw a total of 8 kunais, each with wires attached, eight small versions of the Ryuuka no Jutsu found their way to eight separate parts of the generator, overloading it and bursting through...effectively frying the generator until only a melted lump of metal was left...
Shunketsu: "Everyone fall back!! Saeko...Saeko! What are you doing...Saeko? W...Wait!!"
arrow Command Room
Soldier: "Sir! It seems they've destroyed the shield generator for the entrance! Should I increase patrols around there?"
Leader Dude: "Hmph...no matter...in fact...call the guards inside...we'll let them come in...in fact, set charges along the corridor and detonate them...this should be rather interesting..."
Soldier: "Sir! What good will that possibly do?"
Leader Dude: "Do not question me...you shall see in due time..."
arrow Entrance
The Entrance to the base was exactly where the plans said it was, at the bottom of the canyon...the elevator entrance was now closed. If they made it down to the bottom without setting off any traps, this seemed like a piece of cake...

Kotai attached a Destruction Bug to every ninja in the group, and did a quick headcount to make sure they didn't lose anyone in the traps. Or... gain anyone, either. He spoke through the Bugs, so as not to alert any sonic sensors.
"From here on out, communicate with one another through the subvocal voice mics taped to your throats. Move in, and expect that you are expected. The first lax ninja is a DEAD ninja, chances are, we've already been spotted. Now, we move in."
He nodded to the defector, who opened the door with his/her? keycard.
"Breach team, move in. The Defenders will follow in after the Breach team, as soon as Shuten and Tetsujin catch up. Stick to the plan. Go."
Two squads rolled in, composed of four Taijutsu/Weapon, two Ninjutsu, a Genjutsu, and two Medics. Breach team insertion was a go.

arrow Canyon Entrance
The scaling of the canyon and the entry went without a hitch...Hoshi opened up the door and the squads moved in...but once they were inside, they'd notice something had already gone awry...the corridor had already been somewhat destroyed, as if a fierce battle had been fought right in there...wall panels were missing, circuits were fried, wires were dangling, lights were either flashing or destroyed...It would seem like Shunketsu's preemptive attack had worked as there was no sign of any anti-chakra field in the area...
Several dead bodies were lined scattered along the hallway. Some of the squads would recognize some of these corpses as their allies, the ones who had joined Shunketsu's group earlier. A bright light flashed up ahead and Shunketsu soon came into view...just that he was flying...he landed hard and came to a stop just in front of the first squad. He was severely injured, bleeding profusely, and barely had any strength left...
Shunketsu: "Took you guys........long....e....en...enough..."
A sole figure stood facing against them up ahead...from what they could see, he didn't seem to wear the usual black cloak they had seen before...but instead seemed to be dressed in ninja-gear...jacket, kunai holster, that stuff...They couldn't see his face in that kind of lighting though...

arrow Base Interior
The Genjutsu specialist created a masterpiece. Shunketsu still appeared to be lying there, bleeding, while the Breach Team seemed to completely vanish altogether. In reality, the medical ninjas had already grabbed Shunketsu and were carrying him back outside to Kotai.
arrow Canyon Entrance
Kotai received Shunketsu with an expression of anger. He signaled another medical ninja to assist in healing Shunketsu's body. "Report, soldier." He knelt between the medininjas, looking over Shunketsu.
arrow Outside Canyon
Teki and the Iteza ringed the perimeter, keeping perfectly acute eyes open for enemy movement with their weapons drawn, hidden within trees or camouflaged as boulders.
Teki himself stood out front, his hands empty, and as invisible as ever.

A sole kunai fell out of Shunketsu's holster as he was rushed out of the corridor...
arrow Canyon Entrance
Shunketsu sort of regained consciousness as the medical nin and Kotai surrounded him.
Shunketsu: "Mission...success..."
With that, Shunketsu exploded, catching the med nin around him and Kotai as well in what was hopefully an unexpected close-range explosion...Flame Clones...
What was more, the sun was sky was blocked out and what seemed like a cloud of darkness descended upon them. If they were really observant, they'd notice that it was actually a tremendously large amout of shurikens raining down upon them...and being that they were in a canyon, there wouldn't be much place to run off to. Hoshi, their defector-informer, was apparently the culprit behind this attack...his specialty? the summoning of hundreds to thousands of "shooting stars", his rain of accelerated shurikens...standing at the entrance of the base, he also sent a mass amount of shurikens flying inward, leaving no more than 2 inches in between each shuriken...
arrow Base Interior...again...
Without much motion, the sole opponent sent forth a Katon: Ryuuka no Jutsu...you'd think he need a wire or something for this to work right? Correct you are...as there was an energy string attached to the kunai that was dropped earlier...the flame attack used up the whole width of the corridor, leaving no room for them to move forward...

The ninjutsu specialist in front of the group dropped to the ground and inscribed a seal from his blood. "Fuka Hoiin!" The fire was sucked down into the seal like a vortex, consuming it whole. Fire in the area was useless.
arrow Canyon Entrance
The same could be said for the exploding Shunketsu clone. Kotai suffered minor scrapes and scorches as his scarves had shoved him aside to let the fire pass by. The medical ninjas were on the other side of the fake Shunketsu, so when the flames were funneled into the base and down into the Fuka Hoiin, they suffered no damage.
While on his back though, he noticed the large amount of projectiles just as the Iteza called it in over their mics. "Stone-nin! Close off the canyon!"
Those who hailed from Shuten's home Village slammed into the canyon walls, forcing thick rock to jut out and seal up the upper portion of the canyon above them.
Kotai hopped back up, checked to make sure Hinata was alright, then looked to Areno. "We cannot afford to wait. Get in there, take whoever you need, and lead the Breach Team. The main force will prevent the enemy from closing in from behind, and will wait on Tetsujin and Shuten." He sub-vocaled to Tekikaku.
"Shoot. Anything. That. Moves."
Areno gave a great sigh, the young ninja seeming as though a weight had been dropped from his shoulders. "'Bout damn time, I've gone entirely far too long without killing someone! And I don't need anyone..." He turned, bounding into the base.
With that, Kotai turned to the Ninjutsu Specialists who were advancing on Hoshi. He crossed his arms behind his back and strode forward, coming up to the traitor. "Who are you working for, and why shouldn't I crush you into a tiny, pulpy ball between my fingers right now?"
arrow Base Interior
Areno strode through the illusion. "Nice work on that, boys and girls. Keep it up, and I'll let you know if there's something you can do." He stopped ten feet in front of the traitor ninja who'd sent the flamestream. "I'm Uindo Areno, The Desert Wind. Let's dance." He smirked, shaking out his matted salt-and-pepper locks and dropping into stance. The boy, obviously a Sand Ninja from the giant Sunagakure emblem emblazoned on his chest wrappings, was quite apparently out of his element, being inside of a strange metal compound. It certainly wouldn't seem as though he were a threat... and the gourd on his back couldn't mean anything, what with him being away from the sand outside and all.
