Agh, I just can NOT wait! heart There are defiantly going to be A LOT of Lolita meet ups groups there opening day. And i am defiantly going to try and get a job there! so ill see you there one way or another!
...But I don't think I'll be going within the first week it opens, it'd be CRAZY in there....
Speaking of which, does anyone know how big the store will be? The one in Paris was relatively small... heart
Chances are, since it's in a larger mall complex and a very new venture, it'll be the size of either the usual Baby store, or an individual lot store in an ordinary mall.
probably small. most of the shops that are vacant in the japan town malls are about boutique size. but scene this is going to be the first Baby store in America and if the company decides to expand, this one would probably be the main store possibly making it a little bigger. you never know. Im going to japan town next week. if i see anything about it at all about the shop take pics and post them.

The mall complex isn't even finished being constructed, you're not going to see anything useful.

Good news! Baby put up an announcement, saying that they'll start interviews next month for the store manager's position! Hopefully this means that the rumors that the mall will be open and operational come fall are true. (:

It is encouraging that they are finally opening a store in the US, but I hope after this becomes a sucess that maybe they'll consider opening one out east...like Boston or NYCity.

My goodness, my brain just died a little on the inside (lolwut.). I'm going to SF...the 1st to like....5th or something. That's such a bummer for me.
Why must SF be so far away? ;_;

Kay guys.
Story time!
This is the line as we were about to enter the building. We had been at the back of this line as well, and it stretched out just about to the last building you can see visible in the distance. We had waited in like for an hour and a half to two hours would be my estimate.
As you entered, you were greeted by thispretty red dress, that almost seemed like it was telling you it was ok, come on in and look at the gorgeous things inside!
Sitting in the middle of the room is a glass shelving system with socks, hairbows, wristcuffs, and bonnets.
After a lot of arguing with myself (and having the last pair of the socks I wanted snatched literally from under my nose), I decided to buy a pink hairbow from Alice and the Pirates.
I got in line. It wasn't very long per se, but they had to pack each item carefully, and if you were paying with a card you had to be escorted downstairs to pay, and even being this close (the register is right next to that back rack) it still took another 1 1/2 hours (after already being in line for 2.).
I was next in line when something terrible happened! A girl was buying a BABY parasol, her friends had already left, and she was $2.15 short. We had been in line for soooo long, and it was such a small amount that I had to help the poor thing out. I gave her $3 out of my pocket to help get that pretty thing. Finally I was able to get my coveted bag. <3 I tend walked out to see the line just about as long as it was when I first entered 4 or so hours prior.

Ajhafskjasdfnkasdjf. Oh man, you are soooo lucky! I wish i could be there.../sob.
It's great to hear you had a good time! The place looks so nice...could you tell us (me) though...was the place big? If you've been to the one in Paris...was it about that size? )(That's really the only place I personally can compare it to...) And...where on earth is it? I don't see the address on their site... (I know it's in SF, but where...?)
All the bow you got was sooo cute! And it was SO kind of you to help that poor girl in front of you! (If I were her I'd feel like the luckiest person!)
Man, i hope I can go there sometime! Looks great! (and it also seems like Business is BOOMING. I mean, wow. Just....wow.)

1746 Post St, In Japantown. It's like...across the street and a little further down from the two malls. It's not huge, but there's plenty of walking space (as long as you go when it's not opening day, because that was sooooo crowded. Haha. ) And instead of baby having it's own room, it's like ONE GIGANTIC ROOM, portioned off for the 4 stores on that floor.
I'd compare it to the one in Paris, but I've never left the country, soooo. ":[
I love my new bow. My first Brand item! I wish I had something to match it, so I could wear it. Hee.
I now have new inspiration for my diet, too. I'm a biiig girl, and I'm trying to get down to a size 10, so far I've dropped down from a size 18 to a size 16 so 2 down, 6 to go. I found a dress that, because of the shirring, would fit if I made it to my goal. :'DDDD
That poor girl, the minute I heard the commotion, I was like "DDD: NO." It had been such a long wait, and since it was such a small amount in comparison to the bulk of it, I couldn't let her leave empty handed. But because I gave her my $3, I didn't have enough cash and had to use my card and be escorted downstairs and all that. It was a veryyyy long day. But so totally worth it.
Also, before the opening they had like speeches and stuff, and the Rep. for SF called for BABY to be a mecca for Otaku everywhere and my friend and I were like "WHATNOFAIL." ...and then looked around. There was a lot of people in cat ears, cat tail, and Kingdom Hearts shirt with like lacy socks and I was like "...pretty socks do not a lolita make. D: " I heard a few too many "It's so kawaii desu"s but I shrugged it off. This day was too special. <3

Oh nos. I really wish I could go... any day. Ever. But that's a bit of a pipe dream, as I'm from Chicago, and really have no good way/ the means to get there. One day, though. smile
I got to see Blink182 for free on the 15th, though? Actually, I got paid. Haha. Oh yes, the joys of working for LiveNation, despite the fact that it's an evil corporation.
