Why was there always a lack of communication between him and his guards? Murder and no one had even thought about informing him last night. He'd been pretty much up all night too... Turning to the guard, he frowned. "Victim?" Also didn't appreciate being told that they needed to 'start checking things out'. "Potential suspects? Those new visitors that they let in yesterday evening... Have they left?" Murders were not a common occurrence within the city walls, but protocol was no stranger to him. Had to take every potential factor into account.

It wasn't natural for her to eat alone and she didn't like doing it, so she was quite pleased when the owner decided to sit down. "Oh yes, thank you. Iti's been wonderful. I had a perfect bath last night before reverie, and your man was very helpful when I mistakenly reserved two rooms. I believe my friend was down here to take care of it, actually. She brought me back the proper amount of gold and everything. I was very pleased." Nodding to Savvy as she walked past. "Be careful and I will."
A rather small bobcat, obviously female by her size, padded out of the underbrush and lifted her nose into the air. Ears flicked forward, she listened for a moment and then began padding her way through the desert and over towards the city. Along the way she stopped and sniffed, her body moving into the alert position every few seconds as she continued forward.
Anyone watching would probably wonder what the cat of prey was doing when she passed many food sources as she walked. Rodents that had managed to survive in the oasis of sand and the ever present lizards were a bobcats feast. Yet this particular cat never pointed her nose in that direction. As she neared the city, she stopped and began to slowly stand up on her hind legs. The air around her began to shimmer and soon standing in place of the bobcat was a female. She wasn't an elf and she wasn't quite human either. Standing at just over 4'3, she blinked her strangely colored eyes and dusted some sand off of her long overtunic.
The random star clips and beads in her hair clinked and clicked together as she walked and she slowly made her way to the gates, lifting her hands in the sign of peace. Slightly elongated, fur-tufted ears twitched and she glanced up at the guards. "Allow me entrance."

He glanced at the robed figure that had breifly spoken in thier general direction before leaving and then turned her attenion back to the girl. "Would that of been your friend?" Eating at his food some before a small smile and nod. "Good to know he's keeping a good reputation while I'm away. But very nice to know you're pleased...I strive to make my customer's stay as pleasant as possible. I would adivse you and your friend to be careful though. Air is a bit foul literally and metaphorically today."
He knew that look, it was not a happy one when the commander wore it. "Recently discovered. Seems it was one of the nercromantic persuation. Must have been in town for supplies. Just a body, some blood, and some feathers." Didn't like that tone either. "No suspects yet...still gathering such." A flick of his tail lightly and a tilt of his head. "It's impossible to leave through the gates right now, they're sanded closed."
Savryn was indeed walking the wall of the city...one gloved hand trailing the rough surface to keep her following it's path. Rounded...thick and cold at the base. Probably from the water...was probably warm up top with the sun and such. Reaching up she pulled her hood a little more securely over clouded eyes and continued her walking. Chy however was skimming around the city, looking for a potiential meal that he could swoop down upon.
Then blinked at her, exchanged a look and then blinked again. Was that what they thought it was? Some dragon-folk and elves were old enough to remember them. "I'm sorry M'lady, the sandstorm blocked the gates, they're still being dug out." She unfolded her wings then. "But I would like to offer you a personal escort into the city." Would just pick the little one up and fly on up and over. "Would that be acceptable?"

Shyrae nodded and watched as Savryn moved back off. "That's her, she's a very...unique elf. The negotiations may have been slightly terse, so do not be surprised if your man comes to you quite upset over her, but the end result was very much the same." She returned to her food for a moment then glanced up. "Foul air? As in murder?" That didn't sound very good and she frowned. "Is that a common occurence in this place? Like the sandstorm yesterday?"
Eilynne's eyes scanned over each of them and then she turned and glanced back over the dunes she had come from. "Yes, that is why I am here." Sandstorms and other strange occurences. The air did not feel right. "I thank you for the offer. That will be fine." She stood perfectly still and serene, knowing exactly what was coming next and did not even feel the need to remind the dragon to watch her talons.

Necromancer... Not an easy target themselves, being skilled in the magical craft and whatnot. Though his eyes narrowed slightly at the information provided. "Feathers? Bring me one of them. And keep me informed on new details as well." But the guard as right, it was hard for most to leave the city as of now. Which indeed was an advantage to figuring out the case on his part. "Two of the elves, they had winged mares." Speaking of which, he extended his own wings and glided down to the lower ramparts as a figure was spotted outside in the dunes. Shapeshifter... He was knowledgeable enough to know what that entailed and it excited him. Giving an agreeing nod to dragonkin guard that had already offered the woman a lift, he looked down to inspect her more closely. Fur-tufted ears, as the legends speak of.

"Yes sir." Giving a respectful nod as Kaznec took his leave of him and he turned to walk off to fetch what was wanted of him to provide. Winged horses too huh?
She turned her look to Kaznec and have a nod back to him as he had nodded to her and then approached the little maiden. A slight morph of her form to rid herself of dragonic fore claws for more slender and less threatening human ones, though the nails were still a bit sharp. Gently she picked her up and supported her with one arm, much like one would hold an older child. A flap of wings and it was to the air with her and over the wall easily, coming to set the girl down close to where she thought she would be headed. "Can I do anything else for you M'lady?"
The remaing guard looked to Kaznec for a moment. "A Laerethe..." That could be a very good thing or a very bad thing.
Savryn perked...now that was quite the aura of magic that she detected. What was that? A look up as it seemed to move from where it was and then was stationary again...did something like that come into the city? The dragon-folk must of let it in...and probably trusted it." High concentrations of magic bothered her somewhat. But back to walk following and probably getting odd looks sometimes too.
Chylithair, mouse in his claws, took perch on the wall, watching the happenings as well, though not watching for Savvy, just enjoying his breakfast. He found the dragon-folk quite interesting.

Eilynne closed her eyes as she was lifted and let the onrush of air carry her forward. She was well used to flying, finding it one of her favorite forms to use. She waited until she was set down and nodded in gratitude to the dragon. "My gratitude, dragon maiden." Reaching into her robes she withdrew a brilliantly shining necklace in gold with a huge gem, and dangled it for a moment, letting it catch the light and glitter. It wasn't quite red but it wasn't quite any other color either. Presenting it to the dragon, she lifted the mirror around her neck and studied her reflection for a moment. Tucking her hair down from the flight she shook her head slowly. "I need to speak with your leader."

"Unique elf?" He suppposed the girl meant something personality wise seeing as she looked like a normal elf as seh had passed. Or from at least as much as he saw. "She seems protective of you." Taking a sip of the hot cider he had gotten for both him and his guest. A chuckle. "He did seem a little rattled. But as long as no one was hurt or anything." A serious look then. "My you are perceptive. There are rumors at least going around. No neither of those things are common. Though I fear they are getting more and more frequent." Rubbing the back of his neck in worried fashion.
SHe blinked, was she being presented with a gift...well okay. Out of curtesy she took the object with an appreciative nod to the little Laerethe. "You're very welcome M'lady. And thank you." Then gesturing to the doorway before her. "You will find Lord Lycear inside this tower M'lady, on the second to top floor. Would you like an escort?"

Well Caden woke up early this morning, after all the guards had roating shifts so sometimes they got up early in the mornings or even worked late at night, it kind of screws around with thier internal clock but one does get use to it after awhile since there are more then enough guards in the city. But Caden wasn't doing his job right now since it wont start for another hour, no instead he sat at one of the many fountains in the city staring into the water as he sat against the edge, he had been told of the murder that had happened last night from a guard on duty already and it worried him a little when told the details. "Maybe it's her..." Well now he had that weird elf on his mind, the one that kept her hood up most of the time, he had heard of Necromancers before and have been told of the way thier magic can be used, also he had heard that not all of those mages were bad as protrayed but he would have to see that for himself. Still the magic she used yesterday stuck in his head and he had to wonder about it again, so with a small sigh the soilder picked up a stone and tossed it in the fountain, hearing a soft plunk as the stone smacked against the surface before sinking. After staring in the water for a moment the soilder got up and walked away, he didn't feel like sticking around one spot for an hour, besides something felt odd; his whole body gave off a vibe that made him shiver, maybe something might happen today all he had to do was find out himself.

Kaznec turned to look at the guard, an apprehensive look in his gold eyes. "No one needs to know just yet." If this woman really was of that mythical race who created the Rhythm Orb themselves, then her sudden arrival could potentially be connected with the Orb's disappearance. It would not fare well with the rest of city if this news spread too quickly, the people were already well beyond the limits of frustration with the constant harshness of day to day life. There was no need to create an outbreak of false hope. Striding towards the two, he gave the other dragonkin a nod. "I can take it from here." He turned to the visitor and bowed slightly, gesturing to the door with his hand. "I am Kaznec, commander of the Ilindal Guard. I will escort you to my father."

"We are protective of each other, I suppose. Savvy just has to protect someone and I am younger than her so maybe that's why." She finished up the last few bites of her breakfast and nodded. "It was easy to tell. That wind came out of nowhere as did the sudden fierceness with which it moved the sand. And now a murder in your streets. Times of unrest are never easy and there's a lack of life in the air..."
Eilynne studied the dragon maiden closely. "Keep it close, it will help in times of peril." She looked around the city, taking it all in, but not a single expression crossed her face. Finally, her gaze turned to Kaznec and she met his, glancing up at his face. A small crease formed in her brow for the moment and then she nodded, then spread her hands in her own kind's gesture of respect. "Greetings Kaznec." Thus taking to waiting expectantly.

Hunter was as suspected aboard the Chimera. and last night he had as he'd planned unlatched the window with lockpicks, planted the dagger, and gotten out. right now he had his crew working on a new net, and on the way back to center of civilized life. but not going in yet. there were a few ruins to watch, and a few throats to slit and some gold to make.

"Savvy? Pretty name." Wasn't exactly elven...more pirate lingo but he figured it was a nickname of some sorts as well. "Well, it is good to see you look out for one another. Here in Ilindal, that's one of our core values and ways. We have to look out for each other. Especially with the way things are." Picking up dishes he carted them over to the bar, setting them down and tossing a look at one or two other patrons who trickled down the steps from the rooms above. "We survive well enough, and just hope we can make things right again soon as possible."
This place was of considerable size...she knew she had at least walked half of the wall fully...and she still wasn't back where she started. Giving a sigh she folded her arms across her mid section and tucked her hands into opposing sleeves. There was no point in continuing on...it was just too big. A whistle them, waiting patiently in that one spot a moment before weight on her shoulder came. "Good boy, give me a fly over, would you?" That was she could get a look over the city without running all around...and find what places she needed to get her supplies at. Why Chy promptly went about to, giving a pass over the city as well as the Chimera and back to the city, up the walls and tower and all the levels of land...big city indeed.
She nodded and gave a slight smile. "I will M'lady." Well it wasn't everyday that you got a present from one of them. She was indeed old enough to remember them...and had an inkling about what she was here for...it may not bode well.
Lycear was indeed in the afroementioned chamber, being breifed on what was going on now. Murder was certinally one of the last things he would expect...sure things were bad but the people of Ilindal simply did not turn on each other as thus. Which meant it only reasoned that those who were not residents were the cause. There were a few in the city. Currently he held up a bird feather between his talons, examining it slightly with careful eye.

Nodding, he led her up the many steps of the tower, taking care not to scrape his wings against the stone walls that hadn't exactly been built to allow comfort during travel. Stopping at the closed door of the chamber, he knocked and then entered when the voice inside called out. He motioned for the woman to move in and then closed the door behind them. "Father... we have a visitor." Observant eyes flickered from Lycear's face to the feather he was holding. News of the murder had reached the lord too. It seemed as if there was much activity this morning in Ilindal... and much to discuss as well.

Well the time was ticking like it usually does and it was getting closer to when Caden had to go and do his job, so with a small sigh he look a quick glance at the window of a store once again then made his way towards the walls of the city, after all he had to report in for duty and there were many places where he can do that, he was just closer to the one stationed at the walls so he would head over there. Another sigh came from him as he walked the streets, the storm quickly came and went and it seemed everything was returning to normal, well as much as normal could get around here since it seemed that people were becoming more unrest, though it's not like the guards have been ignoring it, they've just been keeping a sharp eye on anyone who seemed to look like they could get pissed at the drop of a pin. Anyways as Caden got closer to the walls he happened to see someone, squinting he realized it was that girl from yesterday, the one with the drow he escorted to the inn. So with a smile and a shake of his head he made his way down the street, though he kept a good eye on her because he thought of her as an odd one, even for an elf.
