Lester smiled and glanced over at Serebro, "I knew I should have gotten a lid to that tank! I think we'd better not come close to that fish while its in a bad mood" he said, and shivered himself as the wind blew, "I suspect the wind will get worse and worse now, since its getting colder and a bit late" he said.

Sybil frowned. Colder? She didn't like the sound of that. She
"I don't want it to get colder..." she said with a sigh, and then looked up. Though it was still somewhat sunny, the clouds were getting a bit heavier, and the wind was picking up. She pulled the vest about her shoulders, and smiled at Hajari in thanks. He was really nice, giving up his jacket. But she was warmer now with it, and that made her think less about the wind.
She made a face in Serebro's direction. "I bet he just wanted to make trouble. You know, like Avery. He gets into everything, even when Mom says not to." she said with a nod.
Alida smiled at Gingitsune's compliement, and tilted her head over to Mikaduzuki. Was he really happy over there by himself? He must be, because he made no effort to come over by the rest of them.
Ritsu blnked, looking up shyly at Mooger. She was apologizing to him? But... it was his fault! He'd talked like his Mom was bad, not her. And she didn't know, so he couldn't fault her. "You don't have to apologize, it's all my fault, so you have nothing to be sorry for. They're not bad, I am..."
He quickly clammed up, this being what people always tried to argue with him about. He knew he wasn't good at anything. Everything he touched turned to ruin, and it was only saved by the efforts of others. He was clumsy, weak, not very smart, and dressed like a girl. People tried to tell him that he wasn't, and it was okay to dress like that, but if it was okay, why would his mom send him away? It was his fault, and if he'd only been better, he wouldn't have needed to be sent away.
Alida was watching Ritsu, who's kimono was bunched up in his shaking hands as he stared at them where they rested on his legs. He was thinking badly of himself again, she thought. No matter how much they told he was just right as he was, he persisted in thinking poorly of himself... she let go of Gingitsune's mane and crawled over to him, stroking his arm lightly but making no move to comfort him closer, though it would have seemed more natural.

(( Egads, sorry for disappearing! Very busy week. @_@ Luckily, I'm in an RPing mood this weekend, so I should be here. ^^ ))
Hajari looked at Lester with a fretful glance on his face. "Colder? You really think so?" he asked, although he already knew that Lester would know what he was talking about. He looked back down at Sybil on the ground and smiled in regard to her own smile, but he was worried about her health. If the wind continued to pick up like it was, she'd freeze while she was drenched like that! "I don't want it to get colder, either. Maybe... we could go somewhere warmer? At least until you dry," he offered in reply to Sybil.
He turned to look at Serebro in the fish tank; the fish seemed to be standing still, almost hovering in the water as his gills flapped open and shut. He sighed, telling Lester, "It's okay. The tank is already heavy, with the lid it would've been even harder to carry. And it's not like you would've known he'd do that, right?"
Turning back to Sybil after listening to her observation, Hajari nodded. "Probably. Some people are just like that, right? He just wanted attention. But... can I ask something? Who's Avery?" he asked, feeling like he should know the angel seeing as she said he'd beat up anyone who tried to hurt him.
Gingitsune's ears perked up before laying back on her head, worried about Ritsu's condition. Putting oneself down like that was never a good thing, mentally or physically, and the stress could wear one's health down more quickly than most people knew. Her head lowered, she understood when Alida stopped to soothe her brother and she wished she knew of some way she could help as well.
Mikadzuki, however, snorted in agitation at Ritsu's comment. "Oh, stop it now. Nobody's ever useless. There is something in this world you were born for, your own destiny, and nobody should ever sway you from it. Fate is on your side. No matter what other people may think, there was something, some road just for you to trek. So your parents may hate you for some reason, big deal. They're assholes. Put it in their face that you are good for something by fulfilling your destiny, whatever it may be. Plenty of people have had it worse than you, so stop pitying yourself. You're no different than the other kinder here. They've all been abandoned, betrayed, and whatever else have you. You're not alone in this world, so I suggest you shape up and listen to your friends!" he growled, huffing angrily.
"Mika!" MoogerMint hissed. Mikadzuki's attitude had always been a problem, and she worried he may scar the poor child even further. "Why don't you go over to the kids and keep them company. Stop harrassing Ritsu!" she said sharply, angry that he would speak that way to a child.

Alida stared at Mikadzuki with her mouth in a small 'o' of surprise. He was much more forceful in telling Ritsu many of the same things they had tried to tell him. She glanced over at Ritsu, and he had hunched his head down even further. She pulled his head her way, leaning over very carefully to give him a gentle kiss on his head.
"I'm sorry!" he cried, feeling miserable. He'd wanted the wolf to like him, maybe let him pet his mane like Alida had done with Gingitsune. But now Mikadzuki probably wouldn't want anything to do with him. "I don't mean to be trouble, but I always am!"
Alida pet his hair, and curled her fingers around one of his hands, releasing the folds of cloth from between them.
"I'm sorry, Alida-san, I--" he broke off and subsided as she took her hand from his head, and poked him in the ribs, cutting short what seemed to be the start of a relapse. It seemed that he hadn't gotten as far as they'd thought he had, after all... they would just have to try again.
Alida looked over to MoogerMint and gave her an awkward smile, and then looked at Gingitsune and gave her a questioning look with a small come over gesture with her head. Maybe if he pet her... it'd helped Alida feel better.
Sybil meanwhile had been answering Hajari's question. "Avery's my brother! He's got green hair, and white wings, and he's always got bumps and scrapes and bruises. And... uh... let's see... he doesn't like clothes very much, so he runs around in just shorts a lot. I know he's here, somewhere."
She looked around, her gaze falling for a second on Ritsu. He was upset, she could feel it, but she couldn't figure out who made him unhappy. Then Alida calmed him down a little, and she breathed a sigh of releif. When Ritsu was unhappy, it was like big waves of emotion came crashing around.
"Let's go find Avery, and you can meet him!" she suggested. She looked at Lester as well, not remembering if he'd met Avery or not.

Lester shrugged, "I could have guess that Serebro would flip his tail, after all, he was a bit hard to catch" Lester remembered meeting Avery, only once, when inviting Sybil over to his house, and told Avery to tell his mother that Sybil will be at his house. "I remember him" Lester simply said, because he had nothing else to add to that.

(( Argh, I thought I had replied to this before disappearing! I'm so sorry, guys... T.T *kicks self* ))
Mikadzuki whipped his tail about to his side as he sat, ignoring MoogerMint's order. "You're not always trouble; nobody's that bad. If someone was that much trouble, they would have been thrown to the streets, in with the wrong crowd, or even sent to jail. If you were such a burden, these people wouldn't love you as much as they do. Isn't it clear to you how much they care? Loving someone is never a burden. Remember that," he explained, much softer than before despite his stern glance toward Ritsu.
With one last harsh look given to him by MoogerMint, Mika rose to his feet, tail swaying to a stop behind him. He sighed, finally out of breath from all his ranting. Turning toward a grouping of trees further away, he spoke once more before heading over, "If anyone needs me, I'll be just over there."
MoogerMint sighed, grumbling at the same time. Did he always have to be like that? Was there ever going to be any hope for him? She scratched her head angrily before turning over to Ritsu and Alida, giving them a sheepish grin. "I'm sorry, that was all my fault. Just... don't talk to him anymore. He's only going to be trouble. Don't feel bad about it, he doesn't get along with many people. He barely even gets along with me!" she explained, but it still didn't seem like enough.
Gingitsune caught Alida's gesture and complied gratefully. She didn't like to see anyone upset, especially if one of her pack members were the cause for it. She took Ritsu's other side, across from Alida but more toward his front, and nuzzled his head with her own. "Mika's right, in a way, but I don't agree with his methods at all. You aren't a complete failure, you were meant for something. He does care, he just doesn't know how to show it. I'm sorry about that; I wish I could've shut his trap before it got out of hand."
"Hmm," Hajari mumbled as he listened to Sybil's explaination. He did remembering seeing him today, he just didn't know where he had headed off to. He took a quick glance around, but couldn't locate the angel.
As Sybil offered to show Hajari to Avery, the harpy slowly began gaining back his nervousness. He knew it wasn't such a big deal, just as Sybil had explained before, but he couldn't help habit. He tried to shake the feeling, but only could stave off a margin of his fear. He knew Avery wasn't bad at all, he knew he was nice because he trusted Sybil, but these thoughts did nothing to rid him of these feelings. He chewed absently on his index fingernail, trying to grasp some sense of reason behind his fear.
He was broken from his thoughts as Lester began to speak again, ears twitching to his answer, or perhaps just from the wind. He should've guessed Lester's answer. After all, he was a very smart demon that could tie those two factors together where Hajari could not. "I remember that. He was really hard to pull in, wasn't he? Still..." he tried to reason, but knew he couldn't fight the satyr on the matter. He grinned up at him, appreciative of his knowledge.

(( No problem. ^_^
@were: I think I found that PM RP in my archives. I'll did it out and send the last few and a reply, so we can finish that playdate and get it up in our journals. sweatdrop Sorry about that. ))
Ritsu flinched at the harsh words, but something about them rang true for the boy. Sometimes a bit of harshness was needed. "But..." he protested again, very softly, then sighed, giving in. What the wolf said made sense. People insisted on being nice to him, even loving him, even though he was a miserable excuse for... anything. What was wrong with him then, that he could never quite believe them? What were they seeing that he couldn't?
Alida ducked her head down, tilting it so she was awkwardly looking up into his face, and gave him a smile that said better than words to cheer up. A very small, shaky smile wavered across his lips breifly. Then he was being accosted with warm fur and dog breath, and he jumped slightly.
"Oh!" he exlaimed, surprised, but it was nice, and almost involuntarily, he leaned into Gingitsune.
Alida smiled at Gingitsune, waving away her apology. Alida knew what he was saying. It was what they all tried to tell Ritsu; Mikadzuki had simply been more direct and forceful about it. Maybe that's what it would take. In any case, having someone to take care of made Alida forget any of her own insecurities, as it had a tendency to do.
She brought her notebook over and wrote out, It's alright. Maybe it will get through Ri's stubborn thick skull better that way. He's not always dense, just about this. She teased her adoptive brother nonverbally, rolling her eyes, as any sister should.
Sybil grabbed a hand of each of them, harpy and satyr alike, pulling them along, yelling, "Avery! Avery! C'mon, Avery, come out!"
Avery had gotten seperated from Aqua somehow, and was currently looking for her in whatever hiding place she'd gone into. He wasn't having any luck, and had acquired several new scrapes. This included one right above his left eye, where a twig had snapped back and whipped him on the forehead. He also had what looked to be the beginnings of a bird's nest in his hair, to judge by the number of twigs sticking from it.
He heared his sister yelling, and swung down from the branch he was in, hanging by his knees upside down. They were right below him. "Quit yelling, Syb! I'm looking for Aqua, you seen her?"
Sybil shook her head, somehow not surprised at all, her eyes looking almost where he'd appeared from. "Huh-uh. But this is Hajari, and this is Lester! I wanted you to meet them!"
Avery looked at them both. He'd heard of Lester, but this Hajari kid was new. He pulled himself back up into the branches, and after a bit of a rustle, his bare feet came down, and he dangled by his hands for a moment before dropping to the ground. "So these're your friends, Syb?" he grinned, and stuck his hand out at them, one at a time, to shake their hands. It was tanned brown and had a few dirt smudges across it.

(( Hey, that means I can read your guys' RP! XD I like to read other people's writing. ))
Gingitsune smiled as she saw Ritsu grin, feeling better about the boy. She never liked it when someone was upset, and always felt she was responsible for getting them to cheer up, doing so gladly. It was also nice to know that Alida cared enough to cheer him up as well, but from the suggestion of her demeanor so far it wasn't a surprise in the least bit. It made her smile wider to know that not all siblings fought all the time like she and Mikadzuki did.
She snickered as Ritsu jumped when she came over, and she pawed gently at his arm resting in the grass playfully. "Don't worry, Ritsu. Today's a day to be happy, so cheer up!" she chimed, giving him a sloppy wolf-kiss on his cheek as he leaned into her.
MoogerMint took Alida's notebook as she handed it to her, reading it carefully before laughing, although a bit nervously. "True, sometimes that's what it takes. I just want Ritsu to know that Mika does care, and in actuality my boy is closest to him. He just needs to learn to be more careful; not necessarily for Ritsu's sake, if harsher works better, but for anyone that needs him to be softer. I'm afraid it's a fault from him that may upset the younger generation. I hope Ritsu doesn't take it the wrong way!" she replied, smiling. If things went right, that would make her happy. Maybe, finally, Mikadzuki's brash nature could come in handy for something after all!
"Woah!" Hajari grunted as he was pulled suddenly along by Sybil, cheeks tinted pink in a slight blush at his dwelling on his own feelings. He hoped Sybil and Lester didn't notice, not liking his unsure nature at all and hoping the two of them could somehow work it out of him. He trotted alongside Sybil so she didn't have to be dragging his weight behind her, giving her more lag in their grip and looking around as well for the preteen angel.
Hajari jumped as Avery came swinging down directly above them, staring wide-eyed at how limber and sneaky he was. He stepped back to give him room, never liking it when another living being was directly above his head. What if they fell on him?
He cocked his head, wondering who Aqua was. He remained slightly behind Sybil in a subconscious attempt to hide himself as he stared at the green-haired angel, wonder filling his eyes. He was quite a number of years older than any of them, and it made him slightly more nervous. He had no idea how to speak to someone older than him, though speaking to Shizuko came as second-nature after talking about his siblings. Maybe if he spoke to him like he did his mother? It shouldn't be too hard, right?
As Sybil introduced them to Avery, Hajari's head lowered but his eyes remained fixated on the angel. He shakily grabbed a hold of his hand and stuttered, "I-It's nice to m-meet you." He bit at his lip, ashamed that his voice was shaking so bad. His eyes turned to the floor, wishing that hadn't happened.

As Avery jumped down infornt of them Lester didn't even blink, he was used to such things, after all, he did live in a house full off vicious plants and hyper rabbits (although there was only one rabbit). "Pleased to meet-ya!" he said, Shaking Avery's hand and then glanced over at Hajari, his hoof pawing the ground as the harpy started blushing again.

(( If Avery can't make someone more outgoing, then there's no hope for them. >.> Ye gods, I just realized... what does that say about Ri? 'Course, Av doesn't hang out with Ri very much... ))
Avery ignored Hajari's stuttering completely, but shot Sybil a look. Was she taking on all the chronicly shy people? Ri was like her pet project, and now this kid, too?
She merely stuck her tongue out at him, as if reading his thoughts, and he shrugged before looking back at Hajari and Lester, glad they'd both shook his hand.
"Nice to meetcha, too. So, what's up? I'm kinda looking for Aqua. We were hangin' earlier, but she vanished, maybe went home. It woulda been nice if she'd said goodbye before leaving, though." He seemed to not mind that his friend had left with no goodbye very much, and smiled amiably at the three of them after he finished speaking.
Sybil shrugged. "I don't know where she is. But! I was telling Hajari that you told me you'd make other people really sorry if they picked on me." That was all she said, but Avery tilted his head to the side, eyebrows raised.
Then he plopped to the ground, almost as if his knees collaped, but it was on purpose, and he caught himself with the heels of his hands. He tucked his legs into a cross-legged position.
"You were, huh? And?" he asked, looking quizzically up at Hajari, waiting for a response with a maddening little grin on his face. He had promised Sybil, but she'd never really needed it. She could make people back down on her own. It didn't look like she'd offered his protection for Lester, either. He'd heard Sybil speak of the Satyr, and he could take care of himself pretty good, too.
Seeing people get picked on awakened a sense of hot-headed justice in him that he couldn't really explain. He didn't analyze his thoughts, either, but subconsiously he'd figured out that if he made people stand up to him, they'd be more likely to stand up to others, too.
Sybil hadn't seen this trend, though, and she stamped her foot. "Avery! You're being a brat!" She'd picked up the word from Rime, who would tell them "not to be brats" sometimes.
He simply rolled his eyes, and continued to wait, looking at Hajari, though he was already picking at the grass, unable to sit still for long.
The lick did the trick, startling Ritsu into a cry of laughter and a smile as he leaned away from the wet kiss. He scrubbed at his cheek, and said, "Okay. I don't want people to be unhappy because of me."
Alida nodded at Mooger's words, and then smiled at Ritsu's first real smile of the day. They were pretty rare things, so she was glad to see it, now.
She wrote, Looks like it worked, at least for now. Maybe we should do something to keep the mood light. A game? Or take a walk? This is a big park, and gave it back to MoogerMint.

(( XDDD I'd like to see where this is going! He's been doing better than usual, so Avery should be able to do it. Though... it may take some time. If we started up in the Elementary School thread, they'd probably be able to become closer friends. X3 And I love that first paragraph you wrote! rofl ))
As Hajari's head was lowered, his eyes caught sight of Lester's foot pawing at the dirt. He turned up to him and smiled, hoping he didn't make the satyr worry.
His head turned back up to Avery, wondering if he had noticed him stutter. He didn't seem like he did, which lightened the load off of Hajari's shoulders. He watched as he spoke about this Aqua again, tempted to ask who she was but too shy to take it into action.
He jumped as Sybil mentioned that she had told him that Avery protected her, and he caught his breath in his throat. What if the angel didn't want to have anything to do with him? He wasn't very interesting to be around, after all, so why would Avery want to protect him? He began to breathe again, but in slow, shakey breaths.
He caught his breath again as Avery fell to the ground and stared at him. He was growing hot as his heart pumped, reddening his cheeks and his nose despite the cooling weather. He realized that the angel was asking him what Sybil had said, but Hajari couldn't find the words. It would sound too stupid if it came from him, asking a stranger to help him with protection. His eyes wide, he turned his gaze away, unable to look at Avery eye-to-eye, submissiveness showing like a scared wolf. But he had to tell him, didn't he? He couldn't just keep Avery waiting on his answer. A shaking hand rose to his mouth as he chewed nervously on his fingernails, taking a deep breath before answering, "...I-I... Sybil said you might... I'm afraid of... what if people don't like me? I'm afraid they won't. Mom said they can be mean sometimes, and... I don't want them to..." He closed his eyes, trying to fight back tears. This was going nowhere! Why couldn't he just get to the point!?
Gingitsune barked happily as Ritsu laughed, finding it music to her ears. This was what she was looking for! "That's a good plan! You don't want me to start pouting; now that's pitiful!" she snickered, poking him in the ribs with her nose. "And I would've, too, if you didn't cheer up!" she playfully threatened with another laugh.
MoogerMint looked up surprisedly at Ritsu's laugh, not expecting that to happen. Even so, their goofing around spread a smile on her own face at something she didn't think they'd accomplish.
She turned her attention back to Alida once she handed the kitsune her notebook with freshly-written words across the page. She tapped the side of her cheek as she looked up, answering, "Good idea. We could incorporate both; taking a walk while seeing how many different bugs we can spot, maybe. I've seen some really gorgeous ones around here! But..." She trailed off, looking to where Hajari had wandered off to. He seemed to be in pretty good company, and even if something went wrong Mikadzuki was there to keep things in order. She just hoped he didn't upset anyone else...
Turning back, she gave a swift nod and answered, "Yeah, let's do it. You two, do you want to go on a little walk?"
Gingitsune looked up at MoogerMint, but her eyes strayed back to Ritsu with a wolfish grin. "Only if Ritsu wants to! I don't want to do anything he doesn't want to do!" she answered, pawing at him again.

Lester crossed his hands over his chest after he had shaken it with Avery, "Aqua? I don't know, she rarely leaves without saying good-bye, unless its very important, I know it because she always hangs out with my sister, and not once did she forget to say good-bye" he said and glanced at Hajari, hoping his stammer would stop once he began to know Avery better.

Avery's little half smile vanished as Hajari seemed to have trouble even voicing his question. He was nearly as bad as Ri! But he didn't scream and shout and throw a fit about how horrible he was. That was something.
"People can be mean. But.. what's Mom say? 'You gotta have a duck's back', or somethin' like that," Avery said. he started to continue, but was interrupted by Sybil, who's voice had taken on a reciting tone.
"She also says, 'they can't get your goat if they don't know where you keep it.' I don't get that one. We don't have a goat. And I don't think Lester counts," she said, grinning impishly up at the Satyr.
"Uh... yeah, right, Syb. Anyway, don't worry about it, Hajari. If people are mean, you tell me. I'll go find them, and tell them why they shouldn't be mean anymore." He smiled, full of confidence. If words didn't stop them, he had two very hard little fists. But only if necessary.
"'Sides," he added, nonchalantly. "You seem nice. Why wouldn't people like you?"
Ritsu gave her a wide-eyed look, taking Gingitsune quite literally. If he was sad, she would be sad, too. "I don't want you to be unhappy, Gingitsune-san." he said, and put another hesitant smile on his face so she wouldn't be unhappy.
At Mooger's question, he thought a moment. A walk would be good. He didn't know how many bugs he would find, but that was secondary.
"I like walks. Maybe... maybe we could... keep a list? In Alida-san's notebook?" he asked, staring at the ground again. He couldn't possibly have just said that out loud, could he have? How mortifying. "I"m sorry! That's a silly idea..." he said, apologizing.
Alida, meanwhile, had nodded enthusiastically. She liked bughunting, even if she didn't keep a collection. It seemed wrong to kill them just to pin them on a board to look at. They were prettier when they were flying about, alive. And when they could fly away and hide, it made seeing them much more precious.
No, Ri, that's a good suggestion. We can all look for them, and I'll write them down, she wrote, and put it under Ri's nose, so he had to read it.
"Really? Oh... okay, Alida-san, if you want to," he said, giving in, even though it had been his suggestion.

Hajari looked up, confused at the quotes the two gave out. But... they sounded pretty funny! He snickered a little nervously, but it was a start. His smile was cheerful, if just a bit shy. "What does that supposed to mean?" he asked quietly, unsure if anyone heard it.
When Avery began to try to get Hajari to feel better about his... 'question,' it did help him out. His cheeks stayed red with embarrassment, but he was glad that Avery knew what he was trying to say. The angel wasn't so bad. No, he wasn't bad at all! "Thank you," he said with a bright smile, and before he knew it was hugging Avery.
Pulling back quickly, afraid the green-haired angel might not like to be touched, he tried to pretend it didn't happen. "I dunno. I'm afraid... they might make fun of me. Call me a scaredy-cat," he tried to explain, surprised his stutter disappeared.
Gingitsune grinned widely, and gave Ritsu a swift nod. "Well then there's some insentive to keep you from getting unhappy!" she barked. She liked that smile better on his face!
MoogerMint bit at the inside of her lip as Ritsu began to second-guess his words again, but a wave of relief washed over her when Alida coaxed him into the light again. "Great, then a walk it is!" she said with a clap of her hands. She stood and dusted off stray blades of grass from her pants, turning to Mikadzuki under a nearby tree and calling to him, "Mika! We're going to go take a walk. Look after Haj for me!"
Mikadzuki turned his head slightly in her direction but his eyes further, swiveling his ears to hear her better. He stared at her for a moment before turning his attention back to the four amid the trees and Mooger knew she got her point across. He was obedient, just for the most part quiet.
"You like walks too? Great! Then a walk it is! Don't know how many bugs I'll be able to write down, though. Might just chase after them instead," she said jokingly after the two kinder had come to a consensus. It didn't bother her that she couldn't write with paws as she didn't feel it was necessary. Now reading, that was something else. That she could do. "Which way should we head off in? We should probably follow the path around the park. This is going to be fun!" she asked as she had jumped to her feet, making sure that Ritsu was off of her first.

Lester grinned at Sybil's comment, he found it very amusing, along with Avery's and continued listening to the conversation between Avery and Hajari. Lester had only one fight in his life, and it was when he was younger and a newbie in the adoption center, it was with some blind kitten, who attacked him first.
