Gion flattened himself against the wall and inched along the edge.
I guess this is one time it's handy to be so small, he grinned. I can stay closer to the side ...

Gion made it to the other side safely and sighed with relief.
Safe, he told Daemon, remembering that the man in the sword wouldn't know until he told him. He held up the glowstone again.
Looks like more of the same so far, he told him. I'm curious to know how deep it goes ... it seems to be sloping downhill.

Actually, Gion replied seriously, I was thinking more ... underground. It's going down ... rather quickly.
He wondered what would be down there.

This is very very odd...
Daemon began.
I can't think of any reason why a cave would be like this.... or what could be down there...

Yes well that is one way of putting it.
Daemon replied a bit more nervous than Gion, which was funny because he would normally be doing the same thing.

Gion reached back to touch the hilt of the sword.
Are you okay? he asked, hearing a strange note in Daemon's voice. He unsheathed the sword and held it in front of him.

I find it a bit disconcerning that this cave isn't as natural as we thought it would be. You never know what you might find and I wonder if the people who made it are still here.

There's a light up ahead, he told Daemon warily. It's ... like a glow, reddish-orange ...
He slowed his pace a bit, wary for what might lie ahead, and tightened his grip on the sword.

Err... reddish-orange? Let's hope it's just someone with a campfire..... or just a fire...
Because in his experience red and orange are not good colours. Nor was dark purple for that matter.

What else do you think it could be? Gion questioned anxiously. It was getting a little warmer now ... but still comfortable temperatures.
