Even though I am a woodwind...I'd have to stick with brass. Woodwinds are beautiful in sound (when played right. stare Same for all instruments. xp ) but brass...I don't know, there's a "magic" about brass that I love. xd blaugh heart
And also, almost all of my friends are brass...and the woodwinds, from what I've experienced, are (generally...there are quite a few nice people) cold, heartless people. Heh. Yay slight exaggeration. xp But the brass is a big family, so I say...I LOVE YOU BRASS. whee heart

I like both woodwinds and brass, the instruments themselves anyway. Most brass people are loud and obnoxious in our marching band.

no doubt about it i totally would choose brass. on the count of i play a brass instrument. but, i have to say, it does get kind of old and i sometimes get tired of playing my instrument. i guess the band nerd inside of me is starting to fade.
now i dont know which instrument to choose. i can play every single instrument in my band except oboe and i really want to show people what i can do. i think that trumpet, colorguard, and drumline are the very best sections to choose from.
after all, its all about having fun. if your band director tells you not to join colorguard and that you should stick to your instrument, does that mean that you absoloutely have to listen and do what he says? i dont think so.
i used to think that you should always do what your band director tell you to do but i really want to have fun with my band experience throughout high school because when i graduate i will become a professional musician and i will end up stuck with just one. right now i prefer to just have fun.

I gotta say it's all about the brass whee but that's 'cause I play trumpet... see there's me in my siggy laying in the gopher bowl with my $1000 trumpet....well it's actually a cornet....lol sweatdrop

I could beat you any day ~.^...with one hand tied behind my back...lol...sorry had to say it....but I like woodwinds too, I can play trumpet and clarinet but I bought a $1000 trumpet...therefore I'm entitled to liking brass more

I mean, I play for the pit, I play alto, and I used to play tuba. I think ALL THE SECTIONS SHOULD LIVE IN PEACE. lol... Nah... Fighting senselessly about it is more fun.
