The launchers disappeared into sparkling mist. It was the last piece of HoshiTe to stay, and Eileen crumpled. She hadn't made it very far from the portal towards Tadashi...but the distance seemed to be infinite. It was hopeless. She gazed with dead green eyes towards the salvation known as Gaia.

Even when he wanted it... even when he felt he could accept it...
It was still just snatched from him.
As if he weren't capable or allowed to decide for himself. This wasn't the time or the place--- then what? When?
Maybe he'd be better off just offing himself at this point.
He didn't know what to say even as he saw Tadashi fall over the edge as well.
Serves you right you b*****d... we can both spend an eternity in this hell... He would have laughed aloud now, even as he fell further and further away.
To go home.
That was something he could never do.
His home was a time period that didn't exist anymore.
His home was a place that he could never go back to. His home was a 1000 years back in time.
When can I go home then...
And despite his wishes, wants or needs... he was apparently scooped up and sent back to where the powers that be felt he belonged.
Because the man in charge was as much an a*****e as the author. Even if said author knew he meant well.

(( The offline people would be sucked in as well... even if they didn't go in voluntarily the suction would soon increase and pull them in. If they fell off the edge they would find that the column of light extended for miles beneath the platform and miles above, and it would draw them in and back to the world in which they belonged... ))
