Duo wriggled, trying to untangle himself from the other stallion, without injuring the tiny bundle hopping on his belly, knocking the air out of him repeatedly. He ignored the sand and teal stallions baleful look, concentrating on wriggling away. "Yu-OOF-e Shu-AHHH-ng! St-AH!-p B-OW-nc-IIII-ng on m-EEEE!" he managed to get out.
If Safi could look at the filly through his eyes right now, he'd see a demon giggling back at him as she bounced.
Selene just gave both stallions a vicious, though content, smile. "Yue, don't forget, if you don't treat your toys well, they may break." she called, voice sweet. "And if you break Mister Safi and Uncle Duo now, you won't be able to get them to play with you later."

Since he was the bottom of this bizarre totem pole, Safi was hardly immune from the effects of Yue's bouncing, though since they had to go through Duo first it was more like Safi was being poked than anything else. Still, even though he wasn't being jarred anymore, something about this situation was bothering him. Bothering him a great deal, in fact...but he couldn't exactly figure out what or why. Maybe it was the fact that he didn't seem to care about getting up, especially when Duo was wriggling as well. Oh yes, those limbs were welcome to stroke his any day...
And then it hit him.
For a split second, Safi's eyes flared as he realized EXACTLY what was wrong with this situation. He was attracted to, even aroused...by Duo. By a stallion. BY A BLOODY STALLION.
No sooner had his thought of his current enjoyment crossed his mind than Safi was thrashing his way out of the totem pole, slithering out and hurridly getting to his feet. He was flustered, flustered for one of the first times in his life...but he couldn't let on.
Consequently, he turned and gave Selene a smile, a teasing smile yet one not fully backed up by his eyes. "I fail to see myself as a toy, Selly; maybe you think I'm a boytoy, but I'll stick to being a...whatever it is that I am."
Chuckling to back up what he hoped was suitable humor, Safi pointedly focused on Selene, ignoring the foal behind him...and Duo. He needed a moment, actually... "Say, Selly, I need a drink. I'm going to pop over to the river again, but I'll be back soon, ok? K' thanks!" Without even waiting for an answer, Safi was disapearing through the trees, heading for the sound of water.

With the other stallion having successfully shoved him out of the way, as well as the filly, Duo regained his feet and glared down his nose at Yue. "See what you've done now?" he teased her. "Not even a full-grown mare yet, and already scaring the boys away. Like mother like daughter, I guess." the wink was redirected to Selene, who looked affronted.
"Duo Maxwell, you are a bad, bad boy." she snapped, looking worriedly after Safi. "Why don't you go look after him. You're the one who was rolling around on him like he was a floor-pelt."
Duo grinned, unrepentant. "He tripped me." he protested. "But I guess, If it'll please my two lovely ladies." wink

Safi had all but raced to the river, the blood pounding loud enough in his ears to distract even the calmest of minds. But if he'd had a settled mind, he wouldn't have taken off running like a bloody bat out of hell now, would he.
As the shimmering ribbon of the river came into view, Safi cantered to a halt, pausing on the bank and lowering his head to take a drink so that at least part of what he'd told Selene was truthful. Though come to think about it, a drink was a good idea; hell, he could have used some of that firewater about now.
Finishing his drink, Safi raised his head but continued to stare moodily down at his reflection; golden eyes shimmered in the water, staring at him with an expression of utter consternation. And why shouldn't they?
Tearing his eyes away from the face in the water, Safi ran a wing over his face and through his mane, tousling the two-tone hairs nervously. Ok, he was a rational adult. He might not act like it, but he was, so he could think like one.
Fact one, he was a stallion. Fact two, stallions liked mares. Fact three, he had had sexual relations with a mare. Ergo...he was as confused as hell, and not in a good way.
Even during the act, he'd been less than thrilled with his tryst. He'd gone through the motions without any of those thrills that were supposed to accompany the act, but had chalked it up to simply not being in love with the mare he was doing it with. Love was supposed to make everything better, right? He'd been certain he'd know that feeling of attraction when the right mare came along, and that then it would all be good.
Only he'd never felt that feeling, had he? He'd been around mares; hell, Selene had been flopped on him earlier today, and he hadn't felt a single thing. Which, in retrospect, utterly shocked him. Selene was the lovliest mare he'd ever seen, with glorious hair, infectious laughter, a good sense of humor, and a body that wouldn't quit, yet he'd felt nothing. Not a twinge.
Then suddenly he was being squashed by a stallion IN THE PRESENCE OF OTHERS and he was aroused?
There was no other way to look at it, actually. He'd been acutely aware of every place the other stallion's body was in contact with his, aware of every slight motion; aware to the point that he wanted to let the touching continue on, indefinitely?
Stallions were not supposed to be attracted to other stallions, damnit! He wasn't queer!!!

Where the hell had that boy gone? Duo wondered, cantering towards the river. Obviously not this way. So he followed the water, splashing through the shallows. It was a bit hot today, he could see how the guy had been hot, especially with getting squashed by two others. He dipped his nose, taking a quick sip, and sontinued on until he saw the other stallion in the distance. "Oi! Safi!"
That was his name, right? He couldn't really remember, but he thought that was what Yue had been shrieking. A shame he was bad with names... but then, he couldn't even really remember if they had been properly introduced! As he came up on the other stallion, he found himself half-expecting him to run.... he wasn't completely oblivious after all. So who had at been? Selene? Or even worse, Yue?
He might smash his head in with a rock if it had been.
But it never really passed his mind it could be him... after all, not every stallion had his propensity for being... open-minded about things like that... actually... not many had. The one stallion he'd been attracted to, and thought there might be possible reciprocation, well, that had faded with unfortunate swiftness, as the stallion had dropped off the face of the earth.

This was a historic day for Safi alright; not only had he been flustered, he'd also now been snuck up on. Granted, he wasn't the most alert and on-edge stallion on earth (at least not usually, though at the moment he was certainly edgy), but he wasn't so oblivious that he couldn't hear approaching hoofbeats.
However, he had a lot on his mind right now, and he didn't realize he wasn't alone until Duo's voice came from out of nowhere, startling the blue and white stallion to high heaven. Surprise was quickly followed by shock, then complete and utter horror. Of all the Soqs around, Duo had to follow him. Of course. And the day had started out so well...
For a few moments, he remained facing the water, pondering the best course of action. He wanted to flee, naturally, but that would be hard to explain later, so with a slight sigh of regret he realized he had to just deal. Somehow.
"Yes?" Forcing his voice into his usual perky timbre, Safi turned around to face the other stallion, the effort to hide his current mental turmoil almost unbearable. That effort also got harder as he turned around, causing him to break into a whole new round of mental cursing.
As though his mind were toying with him, Safi was suddenly all too aware of just how handsome a male Duo was. Strong legs, a well-tucked stomach, proudly arching neck...tousled auburn hair, flushed cheeks, ruffled wings...
Hell. He WAS attracted to a stallion. Damnit all to hell! gonk

He didn't rightly know how to react. He looked a little... flushed? Worriedly, Duo moved closer to the other Soquili. "You look all red." he said, peering at the older stallion curiously. "I don't think it looks good on you at all. Come on, we can go rest back at the teepee and have a couple lovely ladies fawn over us. How's that sound?" his voice was jovial. "Here, let's cool you down a bit more with the water, and we can rest..."
He didn't... well, he -did- (maybe, kinda?) know what was wrong with the poor fellow, but he was too embarassed to comment. Instead, he splashed at the other's legs with one hoof. "Maybe a nice bath before we go back. You're all messy from rolling around in the dirt. How are you going to impress anyone looking like that?" it was an open, teasing grin.

Yes, that would be great; go back to the teepee and have numerous other Soquilis around that looked at him oddly and wondered why Selene was bringing around such a stiff stallion that he couldn't even bend his joints! Great idea, that, and Safi had to bite his tongue to keep from making a snarky comment to that extent. But then, if he said anything then he might have to explain things he didn't want to explain...
Just like he didn't want to deal with this. "Don't worry about it, Duo, I just have something on my mind." Yeah, that was suitably banal. Of course, the other stallion didn't seem to take the hint, moving much to close and actually peering at him. For a wild moment, Safi was positive that Duo could see right through him, knew just what he was thinking, and was horrified and disgusted and...and...
Wow, he smelled nice. Was that because of the grasses around here, that rolling in them brought about that nice herbal-
"NO!!"
The word exploded in his mind and out of his mouth simultaneously, and Safi shot away from Duo like he'd been shot out of a gun smack into the middle of the river. The water lapped at his sides as he stood what he hoped was a safe distance away, but the cool water did nothing to calm his mind. "That is, I'll just take a quick soak now, but I don't think I'm messy. Just a little grassy, that's all, and who minds grass?" He was speaking faster than normal, but he had to try and cover up that mess somehow. If that was possible...hell, he should just leave now ><

... Would it really be Safi's -joints- that weren't bending? But, in any case, Duo was looking at Safi like he'd just gone mad... oh wait, he had. "You alright mate?" he asked slowly. "You look like you're having some issues." he settled himself down in the water, resting comfortably. "Come on then, tell me what is wrong with you. You seem to be having some troubles..." he watched Safi with an appraising eye. "Mare troubles? Stallion troubles? I advise you I'm not much of an advisory hand on either, but I listen well. And as much as I talk, I can keep a secret."

He was not hearing this. Had Duo just asked him about stallion troubles? Good grief, the stallion not only had figured him out but he was toying with him? Had he known Selene had a sadist in her herd, he never would have taken her up on her offer to visit. They should have just gone to the waterfall, then everything would have been better than it was.
It was rare for Safi to get upset, but the baleful look he gave the other stallion was a clear indication that upset was pretty mild. "Look, Duo, I don't know what ideas you've got in your mind, but there's not really anything to talk about. I just remembered something back in the clearing that I'd forgotten about, something I was supposed to have done, and now it's kinda distracting me. You should just go back to Selly and Yue; I'll be along a bit later, so you can tell Selly not to bother." Half a lie, and yet half a truth at the same time; with any luck, Duo would take the hint and GO AWAY.

Duo's ears drooped. Had he said something wrong? Then he grinned, faintly, though his ears remained a bit fallen. "Sure thing, Safi." he said, forcing his tone to be jovial. "Sorry, I got a bit personal, huh?" He stood, shaking himself off. "I guess I'll, uh... deliver your message. She'll understand what she's not to be bothering with, I assume?" he fluttered his wings, furious with the fact they were still a bit soggy. Furious with the fact he'd obviously pushed his limits this time with his... well, damn. It hadn't been a joke. It had been a serious question, with the hope that maybe he wasn't so abnormal with his 'free love' attitude.
One purple eye, equally baleful (though Duo's look wasn't intentional), met Safi's. "And was there a message for Yue? She'd be a bit upset if you ran off without saying goodbye."

"Thank you." This was too much. The hard glint in Duo's eye as he'd caught Safi's had been enough to convince Safi that his worst suspicions were confirmed; Duo knew what was going through the other stallion's mind and was furious. But that was better than having him hanging around here, making Safi start blushing like a damn filly everytime Duo so much as flinched!
Therefore, it was with an obvious hint of relief in his voice as he nodded at Duo, turning so that he no longer had to look at him. "Just tell Yue that she needs to calm down; last thing that I need is Selly getting upset over Yue's rambunctiousness, right?" And there the laughter was back in his voice, albeit briefly. Distraction was good, distraction was good...

He gave a tight smile and stomped a hoof. "Sure thing." then he paused. "You know... 'lene is like my sister. So... don't hurt her, okay?" he muttered, and trotted off, fast. After all, it was the only thing made sense. The silly fool of a stallion had a crush on 'leney the family-crazed mare. But if this stallion ran off every time he got embarassed, 'leney wouldn't be getting much of a bigger family out of him, eh? He couldn't help his own laugh.
Ohhh, misunderstandings. So problematic. But at least now, Duo was secure in the knowledge that... well... stallions simply did -not- find other stallions attractive physically, only finding them as having good taste.
And he knew from experience (though both he and Selene would remain stubbornly silent on the truth of the matter) that 'leney tasted good. xd
And no, they'd never done... that!

...As though he'd ever hurt Selene. But then, what was there to hurt her about? It wasn't like they were a couple, or were in danger of being a couple; hell, she'd told him herself her views on relationships and how she never wanted to be in one! Hadn't she told him herself how unpleasant sex had been?
Meh. Obviously Duo was just a nut and liked fiddling with the minds of others.
For a decent amount of time after Duo left, Safi remained in the river, mulling over his thoughts in relative peace now that he didn't have Duo around distracting him. He didn't know what to think anymore...but really, that didn't mean that he couldn't rule out possibilities. He was obviously attracted to Duo, he couldn't deny it even to himself; but that didn't mean he wasn't attracted to mares. It was still possible Duo was a fluke.
Having satisfied himself that that HAD to be the case, Safi finally dragged himself out of the water. Time to go face the music, and keep his peace; but now that he'd had time to compose himself, he'd be fine.
Hopefully.
Trotting back through the trees, Safi simply sighed. What a day...
