It was night, almost midnight when Kat walked back home covered from head to toe with carbon from the mine he was working in all night. He got to his home, a small wood house with almost nothing inside just a stove, a small table almost floor level, some rolled up blankets on the corner, and a hole on the ground where Kat’s brothers made a basement where they would sleep, except Kat that slept on the main floor. He looked up and saw no moon. He got in and walked inside and straight to the basement where he had tied up his three older brothers. The first one was a curly black haired man with black eyes, husky; the second one and the oldest was a normal built man with crème hair and green eyes; and the third one was one with short spike brown hair and brown eyes and a bit slim compared to the others; all of them had ears and tail, only Kat was missing that main characteristic.
“Took you long enough, why in blazes did you tie us up, Katherine?” said the first one as the second one melted into a puddle and shifted back in front of Kat.
“You were all evil. I had to.” Kat moved to loosen the third brother and the one that loosed himself helped the other.
“Don’t worry, we don’t hate you.” the oldest brother said giving Kat a hug.
The last one looked up hoping to see their little brother up there. He looked back at the others, “Katherine, where’s Stray?”
“Oh no.” he squirmed out of his brothers arms and ran outside, then followed by his brothers. Kat ran to an abandoned well and started walking when he heard the neko boy mewing on the bottom of the well, looking up with tears in his eyes. The brothers looked at Kat with an evil glare, “I can explain. He attacked me.”
“Yeah…” all of them said at once. The oldest one turned into a rope and got the neko out of the well and then walked back home.

There were only now two brothers. the second oldest was outside waiting for Stray to come back while Oscar sat on the floor next to Kat. He passed a wet cloth over Kat's forehead and shook his head, knowing that Kat wasn't getting better, even with the potion they wasted much of their money getting. Kat was paler and his hands were shaking. If it wasn't for his hands the brothers would've thought he was dead. They didn't know what to do.

"Stray's here." Rosco said grabbing the bag from Stray's mouth and took it to Oscar. Oscar tried waking Kat as gently as he could but Kat only moved slightly and didn't even open his eyes. "Kat...please wake up. We have some soup. It'll make you feel better." Kat didn't respond. Stray snuggled next to him and Oscar got up and walked out, kneeling outside of the house. Rosco knew what Oscar was going to do and left him cry in peace and take care of Kat.

"Will Kat be okay, Rosco?"

"I really don't know, Stray. Let's just hope miracles do exist." Stray fell asleep next to his brother. Rosco was bringing his cot up to sleep next to kat but Oscar was in his cat form already there, eyes wide open. One glare of his eyes told Rosco to go downstairs to sleep. He walked down and they all went to sleep, except for oscar that spent all night looking at kat and feeling guilty for all that has happened.

Rosco came into the house with a paper and showed it to Oscar that was putting a warm towel on Kat's pale forehead, "It's from the landlord. They want us to get out of here. He says he won't rent land to demons or any foreigner." Oscar nodded and got up, "Pack everything. We'll have to travel to a neko village since the kitsunes don't want us there either." Rosco nodded and went downstairs to start packing.

A soft black cape flowed behind a sleek black spandex covered body. It wasn't muscular, but it was slim and fit in many places. Two booted feet landed on the pavement as the masked figure set the D.I.D. on the ground. He was your stereotypical superhero and he had started coming around about a week ago. Already, he'd become famous in all the newspapers, magazines, and tabloids along the market. "Now, be a little more careful next time, okay?"

The girl nodded and kissed his cheek, "Thanks, sir! I will!" She chirped, nearly gushing.

Shadow Glider nodded, feeling a sudden wind push his cape and the tails of his mask behind him almost dramatically, "I have to get going, now. Take care." He said before taking off into the sky. He thought he was done for when he was caught in that nuclear blast a few miles away, but he'd found himself with these powers afterward. Tired, he looked down for a place to stay and spotted the Muffin. He didn't want to create a fuss inside, so he'd only grab some water in the well out back.

Oscar appeared in the hospital with a small bag of gold. He looked around as if looking for something valuable. From the hall an old man saw Oscar and walked towards him with a limp and pointed at the money and asked what he did there:
“We don’t have much money but my brother really needs the treatment for his condition. This isn’t much but I’ll work hard to get you the rest. Can you accept him in the hospital?”

“I’m sorry but this hospital is only for humans from this planet. Please leave the facility.”

“I’ll do anything but please help my brother. I already lost one brother don’t let me lose another.” his voice sound more in pain as he begged almost falling to his knees. The doctor called on security and he was thrown out of the hospital. He sat there in shock. They just condemned his brother to death.

Outside of the hospital were Oscar’s brothers waiting for him for the news. Oscar looked down at the unconscious Kat and Stray, which was now so into his disease that he couldn’t talk any more, looking at him confused. Rosco walked to him, his eyes red in anger from all that has been happening to them. A nod of Oscar’s head said everything,
“Let me burn his head a bit, I’ll teach him not to mess with us.”
“Don’t. We’re in enough trouble.”
“Hunter have raped and poisoned our brother, they throw us out of our home, we have no food, and now we can’t even give our brothers a chance to live?! You expect me to stay calm?!” Oscar didn’t answer and picked up Kat.
“We better get moving.” Rosco saw someone moving towards them and stretched his hand with a flame at hand.
“Don’t come near us.”
“Rosco, don’t. He’s an officer.” Oscar said when he saw the man’s uniform, a white and blue Alliance uniform.
“Is your group alright? Was there a problem with the hospital?” the officer placed a hand on Kat’s face and Oscar explained their situation and how they were in need of help for their youngest brothers. The officer took the brothers where they finally found a place where they could be helped.

Maara kept her head down and walked along the street, more reserved than usual. She knew better than to play out here. Yellow eyes glanced from beneath her hat brim, noting the somber faces of the town's people. No, they did not like her tail and ears. They'd chase her if she was herself. Maara studied the ground as she walked again, counting off the seconds in her head, humming to herself. She didn't see the man in the white coat until he ran into her. "Mer!" Maara said, startled as the man brushed himself off, taking a hasty step back. "Sorry Miss. Didn't see you there." He mumbled, already starting off again, reading something in a file of important looking papers. Maara wrinkled her nose. The man had smelled like...rain...and peaches. Her ears went straight beneath her hat. Trina! He smelled like Trina! Full of energy again, Maara ducked into an alley way. Half a second later, a small orange kitten emerged, tailing the man cleverly.

Ellie peered over the counter at the merchant's goods, unable to make up her mind. He tried to coax her one way or another, but never quite succeeded. "I dunno.. Hmm.. Oh. Lemme see that one." she said, jabbing a finger at the object she was interested in. When he handed it to her, her eyes lit up. He smiled too, but she thought it only because of his convenient view down her blouse. Looking up, a little disgusted at the man, he rambled some apologies, before giving her the gift wrapping, and she handed him a small sackful of coins. Hurrying out of the shop, now a few bags in tow, she decided to head to the shop of many art supplies and stationary papers. Once having stepped inside, Ellie was wooed by some colorful paper, perfect for writing a cute little card.

A certain redhead happened to be out as well. However, luckily for his secrecy, he had decided to practice his cloaking magic. If Ellie was nearby, she wouldn't be able to sense him until he announced himself or dropped the spell. He really had no idea she was out, he just wanted to get some magic practice in while he shopped. "Anooo..." He murmured as he scanned the objects in front of him, "Do you have it in green?" he asked the merchant. His hair was tied back, but his side bangs were giving him trouble as he bent his long form over the cart.

Buying the pretty green shimmery paper, and an envelope to match, Ellie was on her way out of the store when she saw a few stickers that she could not pass up. Heading back to the counter, she got a funny look from the owner, but bought them anyways with a proud smile. Sticking them in her bag, she headed out of the shop, and right past her husband. In she headed to the book store just across the way, not even glancing at the people she passed. Now on her arms were three bags of various sizes, as she made her way through the store, scanning rows of books with a content smile upon her face. Her voice hummed a cute little tune, 'Rubber ducky', somewhat of a child's favorite, but it made her smile even more to think of the words.

Baizou, so engulfed by the emotions around him, didn't sense Ellie as she passed. He decided on the green one and handed over the required coins to but it. "Thank you! I know she will love it." He said with a polite bow. He tapped his chin and smiled, "What better to go with this than a rose?" He asked himself, stopping at a small flower booth just outside the book store Ellie was in. A dozen roses would be too much. Especially since it was just their half anniversary. One rose would be enough to say 'I love you' without being too gaudy. Besides it all, he simply didn't have that sort of money. He'd been saving up for quite a bit to get her a quality gift. He finally decided to spend a little extra money on a rose that would not begin to wilt until months after it was purchased. They had enchantments for everything these days.

Grabbing the perfect sounding book, Ellie thumbed through a few of the pages before handing over the required payment to the cashier. Taking the bag from him, Ellie decided that even if she did purchase more, she wouldn't be able to carry it back home. Stepping out of the store, Ellie could've swore she felt something very ducky-like outside, but knew it must've only been an onlooker or someone much alike. Starting to hum again, she stepped past the florist, on her way to the end of the street, quite a ways away, especially through the unforgiving crowd. Grumbling a bit of a complaint as somebody smashed into her back, and made her wings go a bit askew, before heading onwards, Ellie glanced around at the evening crowd. After a moment, she headed onwards again, smile content and tune perky.
