"What was that?!" Azalia whispered harshly. "Did anyone else here that? It sounded like a horse." She immediately turned and looked slightly suspiciously at Sir Lawrence. She hoped that it wasn't a group of knights from Jahrr, but she doubted their king had sent out a search party.

"Well, I believe it would be better if you were not here to slow us down anymore, so--," Ismeine was cut off by Azalia.
"Did anyone else hear that? It sounded like a horse," she was saying, and Ismeine voiced the suspicion Azalia was feeling.
"And I suppose this is your doing as well!" Ismeine said a little too loudly. "I knew we should not have trusted him!"
"Please, m'lady, I have not the slightest idea from whence came these horses," Laurence said, although it sounded like only one horse to him.
Ismeine saw him glance at Merewyn. Is that a look of worry? she wondered automatically, then dismissed the thought. Or one of evil or poor intentions? She would have to keep both eyes on this one.

"Let's not sit here shouting at each other all night. We need to get back to the castle as soon as possible." The horse had made her nervous. How long had its rider been following them?

Inira winced. "Great...they did notice..." She glared at the horse. "This is your fault, you know." He whickered softly in reply. Mounting again, she slowly made her way to where they were all standing, trying to be as conspicuous as possible.

Scarlet had heard the horse as well, but didn't say anything, only gave a startled jump. The others had caught up to them now, and Scarlet was more anxious than before to return to the castle. She wondered what punishment might await her and Azalia for allowing the princesses such an escape without telling the king, or anyone for that matter.

Azalia was thinking the same thoughts as Scarlet. What punishment would they recieve upon their return? Especially if something happened to one of the princesses? She pushed the thought to the back of her mind. Being scared and jumpy would cause them to make foolish actions. She took a deep breath, and whispered, "Should we get moving?" Standing perfectly still might disguise them in the dark, but they wouldn't reach safety by just standing there.

((Gosh.... I'm having a terrible writer's block about this one. If anyone wants to throw a huge plot twist in there, be my guest. But otherwise, I'm going to have to think about this for a little bit. Sorry. sweatdrop ))

Scarlet slinked into the shadows and went to the other side of the horse and rider, which were now quite close to the party with the princess. She knew that the horse knew she was there and she stroked it gently then grabed it's reigns, so the rider wouldn't try to run off. She looked up at the girl and recognized her. "Inira?" She said, recognizing the girl from the stables. "Inira you gave us such a fright!" Scarlet said in a hoarse whisper.

The stablegirl smiled sheepishly. "Sorry...I had no use at the moment, and I got bored. So I came out riding." She glanced sidelong at everyone else. "I wasn't expecting to find everyone here." She stopped her gaze on Laurence. "Who's that?" she whispered to Scarlet.

((Of course it is. I am sitting on a hard kitchen chair because the computer chair is for some odd reason in my dad's room))
"That is 'Sir Laurence', he is accompanying the twins back to the castle, it has been quite a night." Scarlet said. She then added "I think he and one of the two are connected somehow, there was a look of recognition between the two when they saw each other, but also confusion." Scarlet of course had very softly whispered this, allowing no one else to hear it except for Inira.

"Jahrr?" Inira asked briefly, a quizzical look on her face. She cast another brief glance at the knight. He's rather...interesting...I wonder what his connection to the twins is?

Scarlet gave a quick nod, "Yes, Jahrr". Then Scarlet had an idea. If I went back with Inira to get another horse, she began thinking, then each of the twins could get back faster than on foot. But, came a negative quickly, Azalia would be left all alone with this knight of Jahrr, and they might never find the connection between one of the twins and him if that happened. Scarlet sighed, no, that wouldn't work. She called out to the others very softly, "It's ok, it is Inira, from the stables." Then to Inira she said, "How far are we from the castle?"

"I'm not too sure...Probably about five minutes from horseback, and that would be at a canter. So...for you..." She paused to calculate. "On foot, probably about ten minutes or so." She shrugged. "I don't know about you, but the twins need to get back. The king is in a rage."
