Gaaras Bchan The_Gunslinger_Girl Aiko_589 Mikagi-sama RoninMoro God, now I have to figure it out... Kyo, Kee-yo, Kai-oh... I dunno! AGH my head hurts! lol razz Think of it like the englishg word "cute" the first sound (kyu) change to an "o" for "kyo" if that helps. smile only people who ve spoken english all their lives will have a problem with it. if you ve spoken something like hindi where there exists abundance of the sound "shvyo" you ll be fine. (the i really odnt get why you have problems with it even if you speak english, english is a palatal language and kyo is a palatal sound) It kinda annoys me how americans in particular act when they can't pronounce a word, they say something totally different and wrong. My name is Tomi...To and mi yet it's fine to say 'Well Tonny's an easier name'...just brush off something like that is very disrespectful. At LEAST try a bit harder before you go on about why can't it be an english name. You like Bchan because... Wow. That's horrible! O.o I would always take time to learn the name currectly! *hugs Tomi*

... Bchan is a cool J-Rockin Artist <3 YAY i've been huggylyed ^_^ thank you. EDIT:....wait...o.o...i'm a duck!!!

Aiko_589 Mikagi-sama RoninMoro MM Carlson RoninMoro How do you mispronounce Kyo? I mean, that's TOO basic.... no really, how do you mess it up? You would be surprised. xD God, now I have to figure it out... (the i really odnt get why you have problems with it even if you speak english, english is a palatal language and kyo is a palatal sound) I dunno if this is for everyone but I think it's because we (or most of us) never really think of English as a language and thus, there are no sounds until we learn other languages that use homonyms or almost "foreign" sounds. Probably why, but since I started learning Japanese I've noticed a lot of things in the English language that maybe people don't get much. Example is Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet in English class, people cannot pronounce words (the EASY words, like conjure) properly. Reason being is that teens don't care about language or books, or that their reading level just isn't grade 10 or higher. Which sucks. I'll stop on that because I want to stop being narcissistic (I talk to much about me and say "I" like 1000000 times a day. sad Sorry everyone!!!!) But yeah, a lot of us just aren't up there in speaking as some. That's the thing: no one listens to what they say. My mother was having trouble with "Ohayou Gozaimasu" "negawakuba negawakuba" (poem thing, says 'I pray, I pray'願わくば願わくば' and "Oyasuminasai" and I was like.... " That's soo easy to learn!" Anyways yeah... if that makes much sense sweatdrop Sorry!

I'm the president of the Japanese club at my high school, and I have to agree that yes, they are sometimes really annoying. A group of them decided to wear Naruto headbands everyday for 3 months last year. The club got in trouble because the administration thought we had started a gang. But on the other hand I know that it's not right to be cynical about these sorts of things. Why do we have the right to say we're better than them just because we know a little more about Japan than they do? We all started out, in one way or another, naive to certain aspects of Japan. They're just beginning to love Japan and anime is probably the most accessible thing for them. I say we should embrace them, despite how annoying they can be (and I know), and teach them more about Japan. It's not wrong to love Anime, and it's alright if you don't know any better, but it's OUR job as sempai to show them the true Japan. I don't rant about "japanophiles", I rant about people who think they are better just because they know a little more. This isn't a exclusive club, so stop acting like your some sort of snooty jerk.

Hi I am from Japan and I had just recently joined the guild, I wasnt aware of so many people obsessing or Jpan because of anime and manga in the US! There are many rich transfer students that go to my school, who go to the US. They only speak englich and it irritates me sometimes, because their not pronouncing "nani" "kawaii" or "ichigo" even close to correct.
Its kinda sad, but im not sorry enough to teach them any thing. talk2hand

I hate most of the anime lovers at my school because they get so religous about it! I mean it's almost like some character is their god! We have a little anime club at our school and I swear the people don't know what quiet is! They shout and scream like they are newly deaf people who can't get enough of some animated character. It drives me nuts! And they watch the same thing over and over and over again! I swear those people are in for one hell of a wakeup call when they are kicked out of their houses. now I don't claim to know much about japan and their culture, but I am sure that there isn't a single school, house, family or whatever else you can think of simmaler to any anime in the least bit. I mean, when was the last time you went home and expected something like The Simpsons?

I agree with just about everything you guys have said 3nodding lol xd . Now I don't HATE japanophiles, but it's too bad they don't really appreciate japanese culture >X/. Anime and/j-pop might be why you started learning Japanese, (i started to learn it becuz I wanted to understand the lyrics to j-pop songs i like *shrug*) but it is NOT what will help you survive in Japan. Do NOT say you want to move to Japan becuz you like anime. Japan is not a magickal cartoon world. It is a country. And the people will think you are a silly fool when they want to talk about politics with you 'n all you can say is "SAKURA-CHAN WA KAWAII DA YO blaugh rofl !!!" Please. Don't do this to yourself. It's alright to like anime and j-pop. I like anime and j-pop. But I see anime and j-pop as being completely seperate from Japanese culture. Anime is a cartoon, and j-pop is music. Japanese culture is CULTURE!!! CULTURE domokun !!! IF SOMEONE ASKED ME IF I LOVED MY AMERICAN CULTURE I WOULD NOT SAY 'YES' SOLEY BECUZ I LIKE APPLE PIE AND CHUCK NORRIS, SO DON'T SAY YOU LOVE 'JAPANESE CULTURE' BECUZ YOU CAN CHOKE DOWN SUSHI AND YOU THINK HIKKI IS HOT domokun xd !!! Naruto is kewl, but Naruto is not going to help you when you need to be an officer worker in Tokyo and everyone hates you because you're a botarded gaijin who thought they could pick up a hot asian and watch cartoons with them all the time stressed !!!
^_^<3
p.s. watashi wa nihongo o benkyoushitai zo and IT'S NOT BECAUSE AN ANIME CHARACTER IS HAWT gonk !!! xd
