I still believe that one of my best decisions was putting off my "first time." I'm not sure if I'm waiting for marriage, a grounded income, my own place, or what, but I know that taking my time has been a stress relief, in its own way.
I have one problem with the argument of "do it with the person you believe you're going to marry." When I was 16 and in my very first serious relationship, I fully believed that he was going to be my forever. After 14 months, he dumped me on my a** without a second thought. In my last relationship (also about that long), we even had serious talks about getting married and living a happy life together. After a few months of long distance, I ended up breaking up with him and, shortly thereafter, landing in possibly the best relationships I've ever had.
Especially in the first case, when sex is such a great mystery and it feels like no one can talk seriously about it, you really have no idea if the person you're dating is "the one." However, you can know when you trust someone so intimately that you want to share your most valuable possession with them. (And yes - your body is the most valuable thing you'll ever own.) That kind of trust takes time and experimenting (sexual or simply personality-based) to build successfully, and rushing the culminating point of that trust will not make it stronger.
That's not to say, of course, that I have the right answer in my case. I just know that I'm a lot happier without the baby/disease scare. gonk

Am glad i could come here and read as much as i was able to before i gave up my virginity,3weeks ago <<. Surprisingly, i didn't bleed and it wasn't as much of a pain as i thought it would be lol. It just felt like one huge finger.
Though, is it normal if i didn't bleed at all during/after? I never used any tampons,never did gymnatic or horseback riding,rarely fingered myself and never really got fingered before him so yea,am really wondering.

Everyone is different, so not all girls will bleed. I didn't when I lost my virginity.

Lets see the first time i had sex I was 15 1/2. It was the most spectacular thing that has ever happened to me! I had sex with a man named Christopher Kayden. I don't know if it sorta was like a rape because when he first asked me i really wanted to do it however i had my period so i knew the chance exsisted for me to get pregnant....so i said no. I think he took it to his head and got a little mad at me so when we had our study session together that friday (he originally was suppose to be my tutor however he turned out to be much more) he raped me, but after not even a minute i realized three things: i was in love, i was having the best time of my life, and i wanted to do it again. Since i still had my period i got pregnant, but i adopted the baby name Keatlyn to a wealthy Californian family. Me and Chris never worked completley out and we dumped each other however he provided me with my first sex experience which was AWSOME...

Little-Nepenthe Since it's the first time thread, I guess this is pertinent. I had about... 1/3 of my first time this evening. We were hot, sweaty, totally turned on and ready to go. (Except that we were in my basement, on a slender leather couch, with my dad sleeping upstairs...) So, of course, we were both verrrryy nervous... but... got the condom on... and I've been on the pill about 3 weeks now, should be okay by now eh? So we're all set. Yeah! Yay sex! He lays me down and we try to get it to work... get through the first half an inch of my v****a, and then... there was no way in hell he was going to fit! I was incredibly sad... not to mention IT HURT SOOOOO BAD!!! He's rather wide, short but wide, in the penile region... and I'm rather slender in my vaginal space. Anyway, so, first time jitters are well deserved! On a sidenote, does anyone have any advice for a better first time... the other 2/3? Aside from a better setting... because well, that would have been a crap place to lose my v-card. I love this boy, and amazingly he loves me even more, so its not a big deal, but i'd love to give myself to him as.... the greatest gift there is, basically. So, aside from waiting until the conditions are perfect, any ideas? OMG that;s a sucky experience but here's some advice next time prepare before having sex compare holes and make sure it will fit and if it hurts or if you have an itch just tell him...if he really loves you that much then he'll understand plus just becuase his p***s is wide and your vaginal hole is small shouldn't stop you from having sex!

Lepid0ptera If you want to enjoy the first time you have sex, (from the female side), just make sure you're not physically a virgin beforehand. That means exploring your v****a with your fingers, or better yet, a d***o : ) If you're too embarassed to explore yourself, why are you having sex? For guys? If you expect to ejaculate too quickly (which you most likely will), just make sure you masturbate eariler in the day, unless your female partner did not do step 1 and probably wants it over quickly, in which case ignore my advice. Oh, and go slow. Having sex is not a race. Make sure she's absolutely comfortable before you go for the gold.
What is quickly? It is more likely that the guy gets his orgasm earlier than the girl, which in most cases leads to ejaculation. Although one feels fatigue after an orgasm, the p***s doesn't shrink (yet), and so it is possible to continue until the girl achieves her orgasm.
Furthermore if the guy can control his ejaculation, he can get multiple orgasms (whether normal or dry) and hence there is more time (and probability) that the girl achieves multiple orgasms as well.

I lost my virginity some time ago, with my boyfriend, who I have now been together for almost seven months.. We didn´t use condom, and we still don´t use it, because both of us think that it´s more intime to have sex without anything between us.. Of course, I´m a bit worried about some decieses and getting pregnant.. But after all.. Is it a bad thing if we don´t want to use a condom..? I have pills and I think that´s pretty much enough.. I was his first "sex partner" and he was mine, so I don´t think either of us has any type of deciese..

Not only are you putting yourself at risk for STDs and diseases if both of you haven't been tested (or in this case, if both of you had had previous partners, though I know you said you haven't), but you could get pregnant. And then that's a whole other huge can of worms. That's what birth control was created for, to be used in addition to condoms. Condoms can fail. Birth control (especially the Pill) can fail. You can get pregnant as long as you're having intercourse, but using both condoms and birth control together decreases your risk further.

I think knowing the right time is different for everyone. I was ready to have sex for about a year before I actually did - I was just looking for someone to share the experience with. I found him last summer. : D
We hung out as friends for a month because he had a girlfriend, but we were falling for each other the whole time and didn't even notice. His girlfriend cheated on him, they broke up, and three days later he was with me. On the eighth day of our relationship, after much discussion, we had sex for the first time. Next week we'll have been together for six months. I don't regret anything about my first time - I trusted him, I loved him, I wanted to and he wanted to (and made absolutely sure I wanted to) and I was in complete control of the situation. Although it took a few weeks for me to enjoy it.
We're safe, too, so that's all awesome.
Anyway, like I said, I think if you want to wait, wait. And if you want to do it, make sure you want to with the person you're with.

If you think you'd regret it when the time comes, then don't be afraid to ask your partner to wait, because you're not comfortable with the idea of having sex yet. And if you want to go ahead and have sex, be sure you've got condoms and your partner has birth control. Do your research, have the talk, make sure you have an idea of what to expect. And communicate!
