Tennant's Doctor is rather different than many of the others.

Tennant's performance actually strongly reminds me of Baker's. I haven't seen much of any of the others, though.

Mostly he does borrow from #4, but there's some #1 and #7 there, too. And, of course, #9.

Any Harry Potter fans notice anyone that looked familiar wink besides The Doctor :p

Sure! "Moaning Mona" played Ursula in the priceless episode, Love & Monsters.

I'm liking Mickey more and more. He's really grown as a person that he was able to swallow his pride and ask the Doctor for help. Also that bit in the shop when he jokes that she should stop eating the chips and Rose gives him this evil look. Aside from being hilarious, it shows that Mickey isn't really threatened by the Doctor anymore.

And then there was:
"I'm their technical support! I'm their Man in a van! I'm... Oh my God! I'm the tin dog! "
rofl

I like Mickey, too. As I've said elsewhere, he was loyal, trustworthy, and a good friend. Rose could have done a lot worse. But she made her decision, and Mickey accepted it - then turned around and did the right thing again. He was a great companion.

Hairy Priest
Got home late and only managed to catch the last 10 minutes (though I've seen it already, so I wasn't too upset about it). Nice to see K-9 go out with a bang. There's probably still room for Anthony Head's character to come back someday.

Rose is way too possessive of the Doctor. The look she had when Mickey asked to join them in the TARDIS at the end... gonk

Rose's feelings for the Doctor are just as ill-fated as Sarah Jane's before her. He can't commit himself to any woman. Over the centuries, he has travelled with many female companions and a handful of male hanger-ons, and some he clearly had more affection for than others. But most of these young women left the Doctor under their own steam, usually when they met someone and fell in love. But not always. Some left because the Doctor no longer filled their own needs, whatever those may have been, and not for romantic reasons at all. But the only two who were clearly in love with the Doctor were Sarah Jane and Rose. I have not yet seen the departure of Rose, but I have heard that it is very sad. At least when Sarah left, both parties showed exceptional restraint.

awww so sci-fi didn't air the special 7 minute short that takes place between the 9th and 10th doctor transformation? It was for Children in Need 2005: Children in Need special

No. they didn't. I suspect they can't because it was specially made for the BBC charity.

Sci-Fi has it on it for viewing on their Doctor Who website. I dunno if it still there though. O:

Does anyone know if it will be on the DVD?

I liked the Christmas Invasion better than New Earth. Seeing the Doctor fight was an unexpected treat.

It was established in the earlier classic series that the Doctor was a skilled martial artist and swordsman. He usually prefers to use his wits to solve a problem, but you're right, it is always fun to see him get a little physical.

So I missed "Love and Monsters" due to issues with my VCR crying . I did manage to see the first minute and the last minute, which really only made things worse.

So just talk amongst yourselves for a while, and once I get my hands on a repeat, I'll chime in.

I think that was because Sarah really expected the Doctor to come back for her. Certainly that's the way it sounded in "School Reunion."

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! blaugh blaugh blaugh

On December 22, there will be a marathon of David Tennant's first season, including Love & Monsters! I'm guessing it includes Christmas Invasion, but I don't know. I just know it lasts a long time. ^^

Guess who's staying up that night? mrgreen

They're showing Christmas Invasion on Christmas! Then there's another season marathon in January. I wonder if we dare hope for getting Series 3 within 6 months of the British air date?
