-He jogged a little longer, his eyes finally resting upon the lions.. A smile crossed his maw as he slowed down to a walk, approching them... He didn't seem to be aware of their quarrel... Not until he came a tad closer and was able to hear the lionesses comments to this other lion....-
-Hodari halted a few feet away from them, just staring and watching the scene, unsure of what to say..-

My, my.. wasn't she a fiesty one. A quizzical glance mixed with a furious glare was forced towards Ciyari, not that she cared, but it made him feel better in any case. "Well.. YOU have the brains of a stupid little cockroach, and probably half the things you say are lies!" He argues in return, bringing himself to all fours as Ciyari herself had done, his tail flicking fast behind his figure. He was becoming impatient with this.. so.. he thought he'd have a little go at some fun. "Psssssh.. scruffy, huh? Weeell.. I'm not jealous, I don't even know where I came from.. and at least I'm not a little Ms. Fancy pants who yells at anyone who makes her mad," He chimed, quickly placing a sheepish grin across his muzzle before rising to his tippy toes and quickly began 'prancing' around the young feline with a high, female sounding pitch, or at least the best he could do. "Ooooooh lookit me, I'm Ms. Ciyari fancy pants! Bow to me or I'll stare you to death because that's aaaaall I can doooooo besides scream, Hee hee!" Hidalgo continued this 'prancing' for another moment before halting just steps from her figure, still staring down at the cub with a toothy grin, clear amusment hung within the depths of his eyes.

Kwazi, an African fish eagle, swooped down near Hodari and puffed out her wings to glide a few feet above the ground. She also was watching Ciyari and Hidalgo. She cocked her head toward Hodari, "Sure you want to get involved in that?"

The slumbering warthog could not hear the commotion in all his splender. Even in the shade of the tree, it was blistering for this hog. After moments of shutting his eyes, he opened them and hauled himself up on his elbows (not sure if thats really the way to put it) and stared around queitly. Without Timon, it was rather boring. With a yawn, he gazed out over the lands, dry and baren. With a snort, he stood, shaking himself of the dust and headed back torwards the jungle lands. He sneezed.

(Needed to post somewhere. So I did!)

-Hodari cast the bird a quick glance, taking a few steps towards Hidalgo-"'course I'm sure I want to get involved..." -He grumbled, moving a few more inches..-
-His ears flicked up, a low growl escaping his throat as he watched the adolesent lion halt his prancing...-"Tell me you're not insulting her..." -He murmured..-

Kwazi flicked her wing. "Stupid lions always looking for a fight," she murmered and tooked for a tree to perch in.

(( Sorry about the later reply... ))

Kikora sat carefully down, taking her lead from the other cub. The still air was warm, yet she felt comfortable, and pleasantly happy.
"Problem with my family was that we didn't talk enough," she explained. "Nah, we were together, but we weren't together if you know what I mean." She shook her head, trying to rid herself of a particularly pesky fly.
"I think it's much better out here. Everythin' seems better...an' of course there's much nicer lions here!" She looked happily at the orange and black cub. "You're much nicer than other lions I've met," she announced cheerfully. "All of them was rude an' bossy, but they're a long way from here so I don' have to worry 'bout them anymore."

Kikora shook her head again, though this time in answer to the black cub's question.
"That's the trouble with travellin', see. I could never tell if I was in someone else's territ'ry, or if I was still in the same one. There's nearly no way of tellin' really. It's weird, sometimes. I always thought it'd look real different."

(No worries! ^^)

The black lioness perked her ears forward, listening as she thought. "Well... Here's an idea! Why don't we go a'traveling together? You're the prettiest'n'nicest lioness I've met outside my pride... And with fur like that, we'll be unstoppable when hunting! And should anyone cross our paths..." She dropped her voice and added a growl to her words, rising into a crouched position. "Well go like this!" A blur of orange shot out, swiftly followed by the other. "And that! An' teach'em a lesson! What d'ya say?"

Kono opened her mouth to say more, but swiftly closed it as the voices of others drifted towards her. She snorted and rolled her eyes at the tones used. "Man! I feel home all ready... Just listen!" The cub began mimicing what was said silently, pulling wyr faces as she "spoke."

Of course, this antic was cut off as soon as Kwazi was seen. Her voice immediatly fell to a bare whisper. "Hey, look! I think I see lunch!"

Kwazi perched on the lowest branch of a low, straggly tree. Unaware she had any attention from the lions, the eagle began to preen.

Kikora nodded, excited by the idea. "Yeah! That's a great plan!" She was almost bouncing up and down on the spot with enthusiasm. "An' with your huntin' skills, practi'cly no-one'd bother us, or if they did, then they'd sure regret it!"
She felt extremely happy, at last she'd found a friend. And they were going to travel together! The golden cub couldn't wait.

Kikora laughed softly as Kono imitated the arguing lions. She joined in as well with a giggle, strutting up and down and making 'agressive' faces as the shouting continued in the distance.

She sat down again, her sensitive ears swivelling forwards to catch the other cub's faint whisper. Then, slowly, Kikora turned her head, pressing low to the ground so as not to be seen. She spied Kwazi preening in the tree and her courage quailed, just a little. Normally, Kikora would not even dream of hunting something so big, but she felt unusually brave right now.
"You sure?" she breathed. "She looks pretty big...how'd you 'reckon we're gonna get near her?"

Binti finally gave up finding the young cheetah, snarling under her breath as new scents assailed her quivering nose. "Damn it...this place was supposed to be EMPTY...where the hell are all of these lions coming from?". Growling softly, she turned around to look for Essien, deciding that he might get lost without her...clever guidance. "I'm tempted to look for somewhere else to take up residence..." she muttered to herself, looking almost hunted as she thought of how far she'd come to be alone, and how far she seemed to be from that goal. xd .

((d00d...I leave for a week, and this place explodes o.O;; heart xd .))

Kivuli snorted and shook her head at Ciyari and Hidalgo. She wasn't even sure what they were arguing about anymore! The young lioness stood up and trotted a few paces away from them, where she yawned and stretched before lying down on the dry soil dotted with clumps of grass.

Binti crested a small rise, her broad paws making virtually no noise as they almost subconsciously found there way around the small tufts of yellowish-green that was the savannah grass. After all, what kind of huntress would she be if she left such an obvious trail? Unfortunately, she wasn't paying as much attention as she should have been, especially since she was moving upwind, and so couldn't smell what was ahead of her. As she leapt over a good-sized rock, she landed on something soft and...feathered?!

Extending her claws in surprise, Binti winced as the creature squawked angrily. Off-balance, she rolled forwards, ending up on her back and finding herself staring up at an olive-colored, speckled bird...and he didn't look particularly happy.

Mwindaji'baridi, a young bird of prey who had always been rather bored with his existence, opened his beak wide, expressing his supreme displeasure at being stepped on, as if he were a stone or something. However, he wasn't stupid enough to get into a fight with a lion cub--after all, where there was a cub, there was usually an adult--and while he might be able to take down a cub with luck, an adult lion was another story. "Watch where you're going!" he said, obviously irritated.

Binti could hardly believe this bird's nerve, making it sound as though she she were the one at fault. Of course, she admitted to herself, it sort've had been....but still. Scrambling to her feet, she moved so that her face was mere inches from that of the obviously predatory bird, judging by the shape of his beak. "Maybe you should've found somewhere other than on the ground, hidden behind a rock, to take your nap, hmm?" she retorted, leaning down to lick idly at a forepaw, her eyes never leaving the bird, since she wasn't quite sure how he'd react.

Mwindaji looked irked, to have this CUB talk back to him so. Fluffing his feathers, he flapped his wings a couple of times, and came to rest on top of the rock in question. "Well, I suppose it's neither here nor there--what's done is done, and while I'll be a bit sore from those claws, no real harm was done..." he said, eyes meeting her own, as he noticed that he couldn't see any other lions nearby, which was odd, for a cub so young to be wandering around on her own. "So, where's the rest of your pride?" he asked, unable to contain his curiosity for any longer.

Binti tensed, and eyed him warily. "I don't have a pride." she said simply, her gaze just daring him to make a comment about it. "And I happen to like it that way..." she continued, tilting her head slightly to the side. "Anyway, what's it to you?" she queried, idly pawing at a clump of grass, as if she were debating pouncing on him again.

Mwindaji smiled. That...explains a lot. She probably just set off on her own, and hasn't yet learned that arrogance doesn't portray strength. he thought, eyes twinkling. "Well, for one thing, I could use one of your kind to help keep me out've trouble like today--you see, an older lion might do more than bruise a few ribs..." he said, having no qualms about telling her half-truths...especially since, if he were honest, the main reason for his asking was that she intrigued him, this odd little lioness cub...her coat had odd markings, and she certainly wasn't normal, by anyone's standards. "So, if it's not too much trouble, I might be able to help you with your hunting, as well." he said smoothly.

Binti looked at him for a few more minutes, as if debating her plan of action. "Fine. Have it your way...just...don't get in my way, ya hear?" she said, turning as if to leave. She took two steps, then hesitated, looking back over her shoulder at the speckled bird. "By the way, I'm Binti'Sokota...Binti to most." she said. "What's your name?" she asked, somehow managing to appear as if she could care less.

Flapping his wings powerfully, Mwindaji flew alongside. "I'm Mwindaji'baridi...and our names give us something in common, it would seem..." he replied, feeling more entertained than he had for quite some time.

Binti nodded, and looked around, scanning the surrounding savannah. "Now, where did Essien go...?" she mused.
