She leaned against Glith, who took her off the hatching for a moment.
It will be allright. Rejoice in the new life. For a while Tolara merely watched her lifemate before nodding slowly.
I'll try not to be so sad. V'tos was a good friend and an even better weyrleader. To die from a weyrling's mistake... It makes me unhappy. And now I worry about the weyr as well.
We've taken care of it before and we will continue to. And keep silly men away. Useless indeed. Bah.
The weyrwoman laughed weakly at Glith's irritated tone. That's better. Now cheer for them.
Yes my queen!

The hatchling staggered up, Feather half supporting it. As soon as it was standing though, the dragonet forced itself to walk quietly forward without a second glance at the girl.
Another small egg cracked open, the hatchling inside stumbling out. It's hind foot caught on a sharp jagged piece of shell and abrubptly a keening filled the air. It stumbled around for a bit, the pain evidently growing the longer the shard was stuck in there. Finally it sank to the sands in front of Faerra exhausted.

(( Craps... when you miss a little you miss a lot sweatdrop ))
G'dor hadn't heard K'elt's sudjestion for him to join in overseeing some trouble at the door- he had stopped hearing pretty much anything after his last statement. He hadn't slept a wink since the loss of his fellow wyerling and the series of events both before and after that unfortunate event were enough to exhaust him into a light slumber. He had slumped over in his chair, resting his head against his shoulder as best he could as a silent but still present snore sounded from him. It wasn't loud or hidiously odd sounding at all- more of a heavy breathing if anything. Will had nodded off as well, rolling to one side and resting his little head on his owner's hand. They were an odd couple indeed- even the excited cheering and squacking from the newly hatched dragonests didn't rouse him. K'elt and Aoki probibly remembered the last time he had fallen asleep like this - the gather of his own hatching. They would know that whatever G'dor did he did it well without distraction- in this case it was a nap.
((There we got. That will explain him not knowing what happened blaugh ))

Kirana watched as the dragon walked dismissively past the girl who had helped it right itself. Hrmmm... they certainly seem to be able to discern who it is they want and don't want quickly...and despite her aid, she wasn't the correct one... Intriguing... Kirana mused to herself.

R'ign smiled at her friend. "It's okay, you just frightened me." She turned her teary eyes towards the hatchlings, watching them carefully, as she'd need to know the temperaments of each dragonet for she'd have to teach them for the next Turn and a half. "Hmm... a male greenrider? Not common now days," R'ign commented, turning to look at Tolara.
The Weyrlingmaster suddenly jumped at the screeching of the next injured hatchling, hands quickly covering her ears. "Shells! T'rin's going to have his hands full if half the dragonets hurt themselves before they even Impress."
Back over to the handy NPC....
T'rin tried to catch Kinther's attention, to guide the boy towards him. He picked up a jar of numbweed to hand to the boy, sighing as another hatchling stepped on a shard and began screaming.

Riordan smiled as the hatchling slowly lifted her head, whirling blue eyes meeting his green ones. At that moment, he felt something that could not be described and that only occurred when the minds of dragonet and human met in a lifelong bond. He was Amlaith's and Amlaith was his.
The boy stared at the leaf green hatchling as the soft, feminine voice entered his mind, speaking with a tone of slight exasperation. The moment their eyes had met and she spoke to him, he knew her name, even without her speaking it. Hatchling and boy remained there for several moments, neither noticing anything else that was happening around them.
The sudden audible grumbling of the green's stomach shook the two out of their reverence and R'dan, as he would be known as after that emotional moment, slowly stood, aiding Amlaith up from the hot sand. A smile played about his lips as he gazed upon his lifemate. "Amlaith. Let's find you something to eat."
Sure, Mine.
The new pair left the Sands, headed towards the feeding tables, where R'dan snatched a bucket of meat. Amlaith nudged him eagerly and the boy began giving the dragonet the pieces of meat, watching carefully as she swallowed. The hatchling had sense, unlike most, and was careful to chew the food.

Watching as the hatchling staggered off, Feather smiled. So the little one wasn't hurt after all. It was certainly good to know. Suddenly, she heard a loud keening. Turning, she saw another dragonet. This one seemed to have stepped on a shell fragment. Again, unable to bear the pain in the youngling's voice, she went over to help.

Faerra had felt as the hatchling before stumbled into her, and for a minute, thought that it may be her bonded, but just as soon, it had walked off again. She saw the other two eggs crack open, and as the one she was in front of did, the hatchling stumbled out, cutting itself, and laded right in front of her. With a startled "Oh!" she knelt quickly, trying to help it up and make sure it was okay. The poor thing! "It's okay," she murmered soothingly.

Nevaeh's smile never left her face though her jaw now ached. Javareth's eyes never left her face his happiness flowing through her entire body. It felt as if she was in two places at once with the over whelming happiness coming from both. Taking her eyes from Javareth's whirling green ones Nevaeh noticed the beautiful blue tint of his skin, it reminded her of the oceans blue water with the noon day sun shining upon it.
Love though something she had never really felt except to her parents was all Nevaeh felt toward Javareth almost overwhelming this one feeling was at that moment. Tears began to stream down her face as she reached out and touched Javareth for the very first time but it would never be the last. Standing up Nevaeh addressed the crowd as she said. "This is Javareth" Nevaeh looked down to Javareth talking to him and yet to the crowd as well. "And I am N'veah."
I'm hungry. The voice again filled her head scaring her a bit before she realized the second time that it was Javareth's calming voice in her mind. N'vaeh motioned for Javareth to follow as she began to slowly walk out of the hatching sands. "Come with me and we'll find some food for you." N'vaeh said guiding Javareth in the right direction. As they walked Javareth seemed to have a bit of trouble walking. "I can carry you if you want me to." N'vaeh said bending down to Javareth.
I would like that. Javareth said to her. Slowly N'veah picked Javareth up off the hot sands and walked out of the hatching sands.
((Ok now a question. Do I go back to the fort weyr thread to feed him or do I stay here? Just wondering.))

Nae's eyes widen as the egg cracks, and she rushes over to help as the hatchling gives a piteous cry. Seeing Faerra and another girl already there, however, she backs off a little, keeping her eyes locked on the hatchling. Sighing, she watches as Faerra and the other try to help it.
One eye steadily on the hatchling, the other scanning the rest of the eggs for signs of imminent hatching.

J'ran's face formed into a frown as he saw the small hatchling cut itself, and stumble around a while, keening in pain before landing in front of Faerra. Would it be okay? That was the most important thing.
I'm sure it will be okay, Faerra always helped the injured beasts at the hold, she will help this hatchling.
J'ran nodded as Galuth's voice filled his mind. The bronze was right, Faerra was trained, well enough anyways. She could help it. _________________________________________
Seeing Faether come, she smiles at the other girl, but returns her attention to the hatchling. Moving slowly, she edges her had along, until it reaches the shell fragment. The young dragonet was obviously in pain, and she did her best to sooth it. She studied the fragment for a moment, trying to decide the best way to remove it without hurting the hatchling further. She had done much the same things on injured runners, and she hoped that she could help this young dragonet.

The green looked up pitifully at Faerra, pain rushing through it, and by extension to the girl as her hands drew closer to the shard. Mine! It hurts!!
The cracked egg finally hatched, leaving a single egg unhatched. The hatchling hurried out, pausing barely to let it's wings dry before making a beeline towards Viant. The brown barely stopped to address his rider before heading towards the food. Come mine! I'm hungry!

Reaching the table with the food on it N'vaeh set Javareth down on the ground and grabbed a handfull of raw meat. Handing Javareth the first piece he took the meat and quickly devoured it with just a little effort put toward chewing. "Carefull love or you'll choke." N'vaeh said smiling at Javareth.
I'll be fine Mine. Javareth said as N'vaeh gave him another piece letting him devour that piece too.

The single egg left unhatched was easily as large as two of the other eggs. It had deep swirls on it. The egg sat there amidst shards of other shattered eggs, rocking slowly. A crack appearred, and then another. Suddenly, the egg stopped moving, and sat there.
