Idle killings and mage thoughts...

I was making somewhat of an effort last night to find a glass slipper. Nope not happening. I've been having some ok luck at drops lately, I have a couple more thief equips (why always thief??) to sell off, and I should get rid of a couple refined things to make space on my mule. Randomly decided to go to Flourina Beach just to check it out and see how hard it was, yup still too hard mostly, the red crabs aren't too bad but man the turtles are mean! I got to about 20% which is an accomplishment for me. Going to try some more for a slipper then head to Ossy.
My mage is about 75%, I should be able to get her leveled today. I'm realizing I won't have enough skill points for everything I want so I'm not quite sure what to do. Max MP increase is Maxed, MP Recovery is about 3 points shy and I plan on maxing, there's a couple points in Magic Guard and Magic Armor, 4 in Energy Bolt (yeah I probably shouldn't have put so many), and 10 in Magic Claw. I want to eventually max Magic Claw but am working on a couple other things before I save up the points to do it most of the way at once since the MP cost jumps. I can't max both Guard and Armor, so the question is which to put the most points in? I think I'm going to go with Guard because that basically makes you MP your HP and is what lets you survive things like balrog, and you get your MP back at a decent rate with MP Recovery.
Let's see, between lvl 23-30, I'll be getting 21 skill points (I think you have to spend your lvl 30 ones right? Or do you save them for 2nd advance?) so I subtract 13 points for maxing MP Recovery and Magic Claw, and that only leaves me with 9 points, so I can't max anything else. I guess most of it is going in Guard then.

Standard mage build is as follows:

MP Recov-MAX
MP Inc-MAX
Magic Guard-MAX
Magic Armor-0
Energy Bolt-1
Magic Claw-MAX

Of course, it sounds like you won't be able to hit that quite perfectly, so pull a FEW points from Guard. MA is useless. Or at least, infinitely more useless than MG. Armor won't save you from Lycans. Guard will.

Bleah I always manage to mess up my characters, I should have paid more attention. I guess they're both getting skill change cards from the Cash Shop if that ever happens. Yeah mage defense kinda sucks arse to begin with, but sine MP heals so fast its better to be using that as HP... rest of the points are going in Guard then.

Progress!

Yay my mage is lvl 23! 7 more levels till Cleric-dom... also hopefully with the cash shop coming soon I can fix her skills! I'm probably going to make a mix of a party/normal cleric, its a pain always looking for a party so I want to be strong enough to level on my own but still have desirable party skills so I can have fun. I've been reading a couple Cleric FAQs so I have a decent idea of what I'm doing (man, people really love or hate MP Eater...) Also can't wait to get her to lvl 25, I have all the stuff for the lvl 25 quests sitting waiting in her inventory so I'd love to be able to clear out the space, my warrior is pretty much full and I like to keep my bowman empty as possible since she's the main item-finder. She's mostly been leveling on green shrooms and pig beach late night.
Got up to 60% with my bowman which is good for me. Hopefully will level in the next couple days. Spent a while killing Evil Eyes, they seem like good exp for not too much difficulty, though I hate walking back through the Ant Tunnel once I'm there I stay a while. I've been mostly playing late since its less crowded then. I'm not much good in parties unless mostly for fun, when I'm trying to actually level I like to be alone. Going to kill some green shrooms for a bit in idle hopes for a pan lid, since I think my friend who found one when he was a n00b probably wont' be back on at all so I can't get it off him sweatdrop My mage is my secondary character so I don't care a lot, but it'd be nice to have one. I'll probably also go work on curse eyes a bit since that area isn't usually terribly crowded even during normal hours (and I have a small chance of finding the Deed, I think I have everything else I need for Blackbull's quest save a couple golem rocks which aren't hard to get.) Also may go fight wraiths to get some more of those pots for Jane's second alchemy quest, I have the frogs thanks to a friend, bleah I hate zombie lupins so I think the next stage of that quest will have to wait until I'm stronger. I'll be so happy when I have a decent cleric to deal with them...
I'm starting to feel more powerful, on my more lucky attacks I can one-hit KO Evil Eyes, and if I DS them then most of the time. Went back to stock up on pots in Ellinia, ouch dropped about 60k into it so far (friggin mana pots) and still want to get a bit more. Getting closer to my random 1,000k goal!
Also big big big thank you to Sava! heart heart He got me a glass slipper since I've had zero luck finding one, so I got to complete that quest! I got the fairy wing, I don't know if that's the good one to get or not, bowmen don't need either but I think you need one or the other for Manji's quest?

Also, been starting to accumulate common equip drops so time to clear out some space. Posting in case anyone is interested here, most equips I'll sell at store sellback. Nothing particularly special, its rare I find anything with above-avg stats. Most of the stuff I'll be NPCing in a couple days, stuff marked with a * will be going up on Sleepywood.

Red Shadow (F) thief top- lvl 40 (MP -1, rest avg)
*White Piettra Skirt (F) bowman bottom- lvl 40 (+1 wep def, rest avg)
*Brown Legolia/Legollesse (F) bowman top- lvl 35 (avg)
Red Knucklevest Pants (M) thief bottom- lvl 35 (avg) (Man I've found so many pairs of thief pants...)

*Emerald Earrings- lvl 20 (avg)
*Cat's Eye earrings- lvl 35 (avg)

Also have a refined Opal and Sapphire I'd really like to get rid of.

OH yeah, I also found two Wolbis if any thieves need them... thief stars confuse me a bit, you keep them at 1 and they stay when you use them up, so you just recharge them and you can only have a set amount in a full pack? So if you want say two sets of them, you have to have bought 2 seperate stars so they go in 2 item spots? But you have to have the thief glove to use them at all, so star attack power is a combo of the glove and stars? That must really suck, bowmen can get as many arrows as they want, and we get 1000 in a pack though they're not very strong, but we can easily make them instead of buying them. Investing in a couple strong stars must take a lot of money sweatdrop But there seems to be no level limit, so you could just give your low level thief the best stars if you had another character to support with mesos? So what's the real pro to using a thief with stars over a bowman?

Ooh, lots of stuff here. Yes, you can give Ilbis to your Lv10 Thief and watch him/her pwn. Yes, one stack of stars is one stack, regardless of how many are in it. Don't forget that Bowmen get totally free arrows after Lv40-ish (Soul Arrow whee ) But Sins get easy Jumpshots and Haste. Yep, stars are teh expensive. 2.3mil for Tobis gonk Really, it's up to you. Nobody's going to argue Sins are better or worse than Bowmen, though my personal experience (KSing a Lv52 Sin at Mushmom) tends to give a SLIGHT advantage to bowmen, made even better by the fact that Bowmen have mob control. Thieves don't, or at least not until 3rd job.

I was actually arrow bombing evil eyes and I had a thief of the same level like 'wow you're powerful'. I guess we both have our pros and cons. Bowmen are just more my style though thieves get some snazzy outfits.

ARGH, why is it just after I make new selling threads Sleepywood.net goes down??? gonk

Oh yeah, and the Emerald/Cat's Eye earrings I'm happy to trade for Lightning/Sapphire earrings respectively 3nodding

If I had either of those, I'd happily trade. All I have is my Skulls, though. ninja

Hehe, 'only' skulls. I figure most guys dont' care much about the earrings tho.

Wolbis, Piettra, Knucklevest Pants, and Cat's Eye earrings are gone. I forget if I NPCed the Shadow, I probably will if I havn't already...

First senseless death in a while...

Nothing much to report. I had my first completely senseless death in a while and it rather irked me. I've been training at the little Curse Eye area near Sleepywood. Went AFK and left my character to heal on the spot where you appear when you enter. I've NEVER seen anything spawn there or have any way of jumping up there, and yet when I returned I was in the pit with the octos/slimes/neckis feetless and floating. crying I was up to just over 70% and really proud of myself for not dying this level so now I have to get back up there... *sigh*
Didn't work on my mage at all over the weekend, since the places I wanted to train her tend to be really busy then. I may try a pig beach run with her if I'm up late tonight.
OH yes and thanks to Emi, I have the medicines with weird vibes I need for Jane's second Alchemist quest! Now I just need the 3 drakes blood and 1 pure water and I can get that done 3nodding Rrr drakes is going to be a pain... I think only the ones in the SW dungeon drop blood? I can slowly take em down so long as I don't get more than a couple on me at least. I may attempt it later, or see if anyone happens to be in the area. I don't feel like going back through Ant Tunnel again yet though I like leveling on EEs lately, going through is a pot drain.

Yay cash shop!

MS was down most of the day for longer than they said (as usual) for what rumor said was only a patch to put in nprotect, which was something to detur hacking. But in fact when both the website and server returned, Cash Shop was here early! Yaaay! There wasn't a lot of selection, but it was cheap- $1= 1000 nx points, and everything was only 300 points. I bought the couple things I liked and I'm going to save the rest of my points for when things are fully released, since they'll be more and all these items only last 2 weeks. Was quite nice wandering in fun clothes, which equip nicely overtop whatever normal character clothes you have so you keep those stats 3nodding I got the goggle hat, heart shirt, red spotted slippers, and succumbed to getting a nametag and speech bubble changing ring. Was neat being one of the first people around with them, though of course you have to deal with the n00b begging and everone thinking you're a GM or something. though I'm sure in a couple days everyone will be wandering around in the same clothes and it won't be very novel.
Finished up Jane's second Alchemist quest thanks to Emi, ouch her next one is hard- I don't want to have to make a Moon Rock crying Also managed to collect more Curse Dolls looting Emi 3nodding It was cool seeing a bunch of people logged on to check out the Cash Shop.
That's pretty much all I have to report for now.

Last time I checked, the relevant scrolls sold for about so much:

10% Jump: 250k
60% Jump: 600-800k
60% Speed: 450-500k
100% Speed: 50k

At least, that's what I bought mine for. And I'd suggest getting at least 8 Jump on your Shoes, so you can jump the platforms in the Golem Temple Entrance. 3nodding

I just browsed SW.net and most people wanted 400-600k for 10% Jump gonk I guess I'm going to have to start surfing channel 1. I would gladly buy one for 250k. That probably means the 60% speeds are more now too sweatdrop I havn't browsed for anything else yet. Was it a 60% speed you get if you do the commander dudes quest in Ossy? I should also get somebody to do my lvl 40 jump quest... there's no way I'd be able to.
Anyway, if anyone sees a good deal of someone selling 10% Jump or 60% Speed, I'll gladly pay you for it if you swipe it!!

That'd be nice to have 8 jump, but I'd rather be able to run away from stuff than get jump to higher platforms a bit better, and speed is so hard to raise, and there's no way I'd be that lucky. I'd like to get at least 7 speed... I'll have to see how the scrolling goes after I get the 10% jump to hit. I have a feeling this project is going to take me a long while because I don't have enough money to get all those at once and getting the 10% to hit will probalby be the longest and most costly part.

Thanks for the prices tho!

Time to start working on boars/kitties and orange shrooms/leattys I guess...
